+ -1 moreHe does his own estimates. He sent out a large crew - 9 guys. They knocked it out in less than 2 hours. They did exactly what I wanted them to do. The on-site manager was very responsive to my needs.

+ -1 moreI called Aly's on Monday and they set up a time for Aly to come to give me an estimate on Wednesday morning. The estimate was reasonable and Aly was a nice guy - he didn't try to get me to buy any ridiculous extra things that some other tree services have. When I mentioned that I found him through Angie's List he reminded me of their coupon on the site. Luckily he was able to take me the next day. Five guys arrived at 9:30 AM and worked all day until about 4:15 (hot day, too!). They did an EXCELLENT job on the trees and left the yard s***-and-span - not a single stray leaf from their work. I have never been this happy with any tree service before, which is why I kept switching. These are my guys from now on!
Description of Work: Thin and shape a large magnolia tree; thin japanese maple tree and trim branches off wires; thin tulip magnoila, removing dead branches and pinch off scale; spray for scale and add treatment to the base of the tree; thin and shape a massive pittosporum.

+ -1 moreI called them on the Sunday before Labor day. They immediately returned my call and came out the same day. They stated that they would be able to possibly come out the next day on Labor Day. They would call to confirm tomorrow. They called on Labor Day and asked if they could come out Tuesday which was no problem. They were punctual and professional and left no trace that they were here. One of the trees was a lemon tree . They removed all the lemons for us and bagged them for us. Excellent guys great experience. They are my new tree service company. Thanks for a job well done.

I've used Aly's before and always been happy with 1) the promptness of scheduling my job, 2) the quality of work performed, and 3) the clean-up at the end. My garden paths are cleaner after they finish than when they arrived!
Description of Work: I had one tree and one shrub removed as well as ~five trees trimmed.

+ -1 moreThey did a great job. I actually wasn't there when they performed the service but when I got there, the backyard was clean -- they picked up all the debris from the cutting in our yard and the in our neighbor's yard. The trees were shaped and they looked nice.

When I got an estimate, I was provided not only the estimate but info about the company, their bonding and insurance, how they work, etc.--an entire packet of information that answered every question I could have asked. The crew came on time and left everything very neat, and they were polite and cheerful. A couple of weeks later my gardener noticed water coming from where a tree had been dug out--even though they'd checked very carefully for the sprinkler system pipes that ran by there, they'd nicked one. They came out the next day and fixed it. A sign of a good company is how they take care of you afterwards. High marks for Aly's!
Description of Work: Removed a 20' tree, a 12' tree, and a small stump. Included grinding the stumps into mulch for the soil, removing the trees, dump fees, and all cleanup.

+ -1 moreThey arrived promptly & all 3 men had their jobs to do. I asked if the front of the tree in the front yard could be trimmed further, as it was a nuisance dripping sap over the street. They did this, with no problem. I didn't even see the guy go in my backyard, to get to the other tree, and he advised me it was done! I got a cute calendar and followup calls from Aly himself. I'm sorry this is late getting into Angies List. But I haven't forgotten. And I will use Aly's again.
Description of Work: I had my Mulberry tree trimmed and shaped in my front yard. I also had an Ash tree in the backyard trimmed & shaped.

+ 1 moreIt went very well. Our side yard was like a jungle, and now it is perfectly clear. Aly came and gave an estimate for each part of the job. We picked which ones we wanted to have done, choosing not to have two trees removed at this time. He was able to come back the next day and do the job. They worked hard, and were very thorough with their removal of the weeds, ivy, and stumps. We are very happy with the results and the price.

+ -1 moreI asked several neighbors with attractive trees and they all referred me to Aly's. I called for a quote, it seemed reasonable and he comes highly recommended, so I scheduled the work for the following week. I didn't want to pay the extra $25 haul away fee and we have street pickup for yard waste once a month, so they left 2 tidy piles of ground up trimmings on the street. A crew of 3 guys arrived as scheduled, even with a cherry picker lift. They were friendly, everyone I talked with spoke English and were very nice. The trees turned out better than I expected and I will definitely be calling again Aly next time.

+ -1 moreThey were quick, professional, efficient, and safety conscious. They were very careful, had to remove part of the deck to bring the tree down, put up temporary fences, and did clean up each day after they were done. The job took 2 days to complete and they did excellent work. Will have them back after summer to trim the remaining trees on our property.
Description of Work: Large branch (31" diameter at base) came crashing down, taking other branches with it and knocking out fences. Aly and crew had to cut up and remove the branch. We then decided, due to the damage of the tree itself, that it would also have to be removed. It was a huge pine tree in the backyard with branches that extended over the roof of the house. They were unable to get to it using a crane and had to remove each branch by rope, cut it up and haul away, and then remove the trunk. It was a lot of money to spend, but it was a big and dangerous job that could have caused more damage. I had gotten a quote from another company a few years back for about the same cost, so I think their estimate was fair.

We were pleased with the work, however, they were substantially more expensive than other quotes we received. The reason we decided to go with them is because of their knowledge of ordinances. Saratoga is very rigid about them.

Description of Work: At about 12:30 pm on April 12 2010, a large oak tree fell into our yard and onto our house. As far as I could tell, the tree could fall further and cause more serious damage at any time. Aly's was the first highly rated tree service to answer their phone in person. I spoke to Aly at about 1:15 and he said he could be at the house within half an hour. I think the time was less. I was given an estimate and Aly said he could start the work in about 2 hours. By 3:30, his crew had arrived and work began. The crew worked until 6:30 to complete the job. They cleaned up, removed wood,branches,and debris and had minimum impact on the garden, yard and house. This situation produced a lot of anxiety and it was invaluable to have such professional help available. Everything Aly's team did was incredible.

+ -1 moreWe called Aly on a Saturday; he came Sunday morning to quote; the work was accomplished on Monday. Three days from start to finish. Two very large trees: Pepper, and non-flowering Mulberry; both 50-60 feet high -- Pepper Tree branches hanging over neighbor's pool. Told them not to disturb a Hummingbird's nest with two recently-hatched chicks directly underneath the drop zone. They taped the area off and put a large step ladder over it and showed great personal interest in the chicks. The five staff were exceedingly careful and performed flawlessly. Professional experience very obvious.
Description of Work: Removed the crowns to two large trees in our backyard; avoided disturbing Hummingbird nest.
