It was not very good. They say too many things, he basically told me he's going to get one kind of stone, and then deliver another type of stone, I was mad when I figured out it wasn't the same stone, he wasn't on the property doing his general contracting duties, I was doing a lot of the general and there are other smaller things but those were some of the big ones. He's very expensive, his guys can do okay work but I wouldn't use them. It's not bad quality wise.

This project took 2.5 months and went extremely smoothly. Bob gave us some great ideas for the design, his crew had a wonderful work ethic and everyone was really easy to work with. The attention to detail was impressive - every time we had a question or concern, they had already thought about it and were working on the solution. Even though we had to reduce our original plan to include landscaping in the front yard, the crew still managed to spruce things up so everything looks as good as the new pavers. We couldn't be more thrilled with the final result.

I think it was unreasonably long time from initial call to offered completion time to repair irrigation system in California (initial contact 4/19, offered day for repair-first week of June) and the company should not have taken this assignment without capability/enough staff to finish the job in reasonable amount of time.

They were prompt and efficient. They fixed our sprinklers.

They were courteous, they arrived on time, and were very professional in their approach.Once they had diagnosed the issues, Bob took time to explain things, which I found very helpful. They spent a couple of hours working and true to their name, the cost was reasonable. I would definitely recommend them.

The system was repaired and I verified it with him beofre leaving. I then looked around and found my wood valve box cover was distroyed during the checkout which he did not mention. I understand it faaling apart as it was buried under 6 inches of mulch but I would have paid extra to fix it if he pointed it out.

The back yard of our 1950's ranch home was in serious need of a refresh. The original lawn had long past its prime, there was little shade, and the concrete patio was cracked, stained, and too small for outdoor living and entertaining. In general the space just wasn't ideally set up for our young family to enjoy and get the most out of it. Bob Wong - Affordable Landscape and Design - was recommended to us by a friend, who had themselves heard good things about the company by word of mouth. We contacted Bob to set up an appointment, and he got back to us very quickly. Bob came out to our house soon after and reviewed our plans for the garden, took photos and measurements, gathered our requirements and goals for the space, and made some great suggestions based on our intended budget. We were immediately at ease with Bob. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, came with a portfolio of his work, and suggested design details we might otherwise have overlooked... and regretted not including. Bob got back to us very quickly with a detailed estimate that broke down each element of work for labor and materials. We asked Bob to go ahead and add us to his schedule. Work was scheduled to start in early May 2011, and completed right on-time a few weeks later. We couldn't be happier with the results! Throughout the process Bob was very responsive, had rapid follow-up to any questions I had, and had a very good handle on the progress of the project. Bob was clearly focused on putting the customer first at all times. Bob's crew was amazing too! My wife and I were continually stunned at how much physical work they could do in a day. It was really impressive to see their progress, speed, and quality of work throughout the project. The project finished in May of this year, and we've been making full use of our new back yard. It's gone from something hardly usable for the family, to somewhere we love to be! We're extremely (!) happy with all aspects of the work done by Bob and his crew/company. We plan on contacting Bob again when we get around to refreshing our front yard.

Because of the great Angie's List reviews, I contacted this company for an estimate. I waited three weeks longer than the first available appointment from a competing company because I was so impressed with other AL reviews. When Bob came out to do the initial estimate, I was impressed. I asked a couple questions and found his answers indicated a great deal of experience. He was able to take care of one small repair (changing out a faucet) while he was here. He described a solar watering station solution which I liked, and I thought we agreed that he would remove the existing drip lines, trouble shoot the entire sprinkler system, and combine my two programming water stations with a single solar station. He thought he could work me into the schedule in a couple weeks.I did not receive a written estimate of cost or timeframe. Unfortunately, I had to call the company twice myself, because I didn't hear from them based on the expectation they set. I was told that one employee got sick so they were short handed (while that may have happened, they could have called to let me know), then Bob needed to attend to personal business, further delaying the job. I got the impression that if I hadn't called back, they would have forgotten me. Maybe my job wasn't big enough? In late June, I finally have someone from the company scheduled to do the work. Based on the earlier time schedule given to me, I'd had some landscaping done to coincide with the irrigation repair and because the repair was so delayed, I lost several plants due to lack of water. Two guys arrive and spent many hours on this job. The work they did seems fine, and I do feel I received a good outcome once the work was done. They did not know about the solar watering system, didn't bring one, and by the time they arrived, I hardly cared about this upgrade. All in, I was pretty disappointed.

Arrived on time. Nice guy with good communication skills. I explained our sprinkler problems and he went right to work. Very efficient, very knowledgeable. The back of his truck was filled with clean, well-organized equipment. We have so much work that I called Mary and made a second appointment. Always a pleasure to deal with a person that has competence and high integrity.

It went very well. Owner went the extra mile to check under the house for water because an irrigation specialist had come out the day previous and told me that I needed to have a french drain installed to divert the water from going under the house--$13,000 estimate. I was told that everything was fine under the house and I did not need the service. (Actually, Affordable installs french drains--and they could have made a bid for the service.) Saved me a bundle of cash.

I have used Bob and Mary twice now. Both experiences were first rate. They get the job accomplished quickly and at a resonable price. Both times they fixed an irrigation problem.

The leak was fixed, the problem was entirely and quickly resolved.

What's nice about him is he charges by how long he works, not by the hour. Everything is an "A", it's so nice when you finally find someone. He calls himself an irrigation expert, he mainly does the sprinkler system, etc.

Bob (owner) was fast, efficient and easy to work with. He explained various adjustable parts so, in the future, we can make our own adjustments. Explained clearly and effectively what he was doing, and why.
