Aaron Overhead Doors - San Jose

In one word: FABULOUS! Immediately after input of my info on Angie's List, owner Larry Conte called! Came out same day (Wednesday). Followed Covid safety protocols. Provided us with great information and advice. Hubby and I made selection then and there. Door was installed on Monday by Paul, who was fantastic and answered all questions. Door is beautiful and SOOO quiet. Love it!

Very quick response, bit pricy but overall very good work.

Everything went fine. I had them adjust my old garage door opener. He got it to work but at the time said it was difficult to adjust and might not last much longer. Sure enough a couple of months later it was having problems again (wouldn't stay down while closing). I did have to question a bit the initial replacement he suggested, after research, to go with a bigger motor and chain instead of belt (heavy wooden door). One of his employees actually installed the door and remote repeater. It took a couple of hours to do the work so I was glad I wasn't doing it. Did a nice job and the door is working great now.

It was excellent, there was no problem, he was right on time, took care of the problem and did a great job. He fixed it for the Big Deal's amount. He was polite, professional, and never made a mess.

They said the rollers were fine and better than the ones they have as replacements so they suggested that I leave them on. Hardly worth $99 for 10 minutes work. I didn't bother to call them back or follow up, so I gave them a "C" since I did not give them a chance to come up with a remedy.

It was great. Everything went as expected and was fine.

Aaron Overhead Door came out to tune up our garage door which was acting up--only sporadically opening and closing. Scheduling the appointment was quick and easy and the technician was very punctual. Work was completed efficiently and we have had no problems since. Will definitely useagain.

I called to make my appointment. Appointment was kept on time. Service was performed the same day and all has been well since.

My experience with them was a disaster. I got the coupon and it just so happened that like may be that week or may be that day my garage door stopped shutting all the way and my neighbor even called me a different day and said your garage door is wide open. It was opening by itself, so I thought how perfect, I need my garage door to be tuned up. I e-mailed, e-mailed, e-mailed, phone call, phone call, mostly e-mails, and they never responded to me. I said that I have a coupon and I said that I had this problem. I described my issue. I said I think the coupon would be only part of the job, I think I might need a whole door replacement. I was trying to like making them come out and at least look at it or sell me a new garage door I do not care. They never responded. So I ended up calling Angie's list and getting my money back for that coupon.

I was pleased not to have to replace the door.

I took advantage of Aaron's special for a garage door tune-up, with intent to have them look at the door spring tension adjustment that was causing the door opener to "strain" when opening the door. While this adjustment was not a typical part of a garage door tune-up, they were happy to accommodate. The person working on the door was very knowledgeable and explained to me the various steps he was taking. He used a very methodical approach, and was clearly safety conscious. The end result was a job very well and courteously done. While I would always go out and get multiple bids for any major work to be done, Aaron's would certainly be at the top of list based on my experience.

VERY dissatisfied. I spent money on the Angie's List deal for a garage door tune-up but was never able to get a response from the vendor.

I bought their BIG DEAL, and they came as promised, but did NOT replace all of the rollers, and the garage door still closes stiffly. I did not call them back, but decided I would chalk it up to experience, since I did not closely inspect the work as soon as they were done.

The service tech came to my home promptly and was professional. Although I was in the garage with him asking some questions along the way, he was all business, there to do the job and finish. The tuneup went well (what do I really know as I'm not a garage door repair expert), but while he was there and testing the door, the motor/door now made a weird churning or pulling noise when it was really quiet going up and down before. He tried a few different times to fix it but basically gave up and said that's the way it was going to be. I also had a light on the garage door unit that lit up on both sides and now it only lights on one side. They were new bulbs that he switched out for me during the visit so I doubt it's the bulb, but haven't checked yet. The motor noise from the garage still bugs me when I'm in the garage and can hear it. I'm mostly in the car when it goes up/down but when I'm in the house and my husband comes home I can hear it from inside, not good.

They arrived on time, took 30 mins to do all the work. very efficient. took my over a few steps with me teaching me how to maintain my door. door is super quite now.

Good work, very polite and efficient . I would use them again.

When contacted to redeem the Big Deal the contractor seemed clueless. He did not even remember having offered the deal. He then tried to minimize the discount by honoring it only for one of my two garage doors. I agreed, and the serviceman arrived as scheduled. He replaced all the doors' rollers, as agreed. He then prepare to leave, when I reminded him that the deal as offered included lubrication and servicing. This was news to him. He performed these additional tasks perfunctorily. I would not deal with this contractor again.

I called them and got a hold of them to schedule the appointment. They called back but I missed the call. After trying to call back to get the appointment set up but they didn’t call me back over and over. I eventually got back to it after a few months and ended up getting a refund because they were unresponsive. I was disappointed that it didn’t work out because I was really hoping I could get that work done.

The garage door rollers and hinges were lubricated and checked for proper operation. The technician was competent, efficient, and pleasant to work with. The only hitch was that we called the morning of the service to confirm the appointment, and the staff person could not find a record of the appointment. To their credit, they rerouted a technician in the field to come here to do the work, arriving about 2 hours after originally scheduled. We think this was an unusual oversight and would call them again.

I purchased one of the Angie's big deals for about $30 for something like and $85 value for a garage door checkup, can't remember all of the details now. Anyway it turned out that only included coming and doing a visual inspection of the door and nothing else. The adjustments that were performed on the garage door, grease 2 springs, were another $60 extra. So the amount of money I originally paid for the Angie's Big Deal in my opinion was only for them to come to the house and didn't actually cover anything else. The gentleman that came here was extremely polite and I felt that he knew what he was doing. As for the company I believe I will go elsewhere if I need any work done to my garage door in the future. As far as the Angie's Big Deals that are offered, I would strongly suggest you call the company and see what that cost really covers before paying the price.

They were a very good company. He could have actually just redeemed the Big Deal to replace the rollers; however, he advised us that we did not need the work done. They were very thorough.

Service was scheduled for one day, but the day prior to the service date, I received a call from the scheduler indicating the technician had a family issue arise could we reschedule, which we did. I appreciated the communication and follow thorough. Subsequently, the technician arrived on the newly appointed day, was efficient, polite, and personable. He also provided me with suggestions as to how to maintain the mechanisms of the garage door for longer life and better wear, again, something I appreciated.

The garage door opener broke within 2 months.
