AAA Mike Counsil Plumbing and Rooter

It worked out great. I had 2 other plumbers come out that did it wrong, and these guys came in and did it right so it is not broken. They came out and took care of the problem quickly. The gentleman that came out was a great guy and cleaned up after himself.

I have a water leak in my bathroom. The company web site says "We are here for you 24 hrs, 7 days," but when I call there, the lady told me that they don't have a technician available. I was told that if I want to schedule an appointment, I have to call them back tomorrow. It does not look like they care about doing my business. They answered the phone quickly though.

I had a slow drain in the master bath sink. I used Drano gel to clear the drain. It appeared to work; as the flow was better for a time. However, in putting more water down the drain, it totally stopped up. I tried to clear it with my snake, but could only reach about 22 feet. I called another company to clear that problem, and they ran snakes several times, but were not able to clear the drain. They insisted I had a bad drain configuration and suggested tearing into the walls and fixing/replacing the piping. I decided I would investigate and determine how the pipes were configured. I called Mike Counsil Plumbing and they came out the same day. Daniel listened to my story of the previous work and knowledge of the pipe configuration. He was able to run his snake successfully where the previous plumber had failed. He also snaked the kitchen sink drain and improved the flow there.

He worked really hard to get the work done before resorting to us having to purchase the toilet. Gave us a very fair price.

They were very friendly. We actually had some problems with the original work and they did a good job of following up with us to make sure we were happy and had it fixed properly.

He was very timely. He was very clean. He showed up on time. He came and did the work with in a week. He cleaned up everything when he was done working.

The estimator missed the morning appointment but he called and rescheduled, which was ok with me. When he arrived, I showed him the kitchen and baths and told him what needed to be done (my remodeling contractor had already explained to me what I needed to tell the plumbers). The estimator then wrote up the estimate and handed it to me. I was shocked given that another plumber had given me an estimate earlier in the day for quite a bit less. So I just politely told the estimator that I would think about it. But it was such a large gap that I didn't want to pursue any possible explanation.

It was fine. He was confident. The price may have been a little high. The worker was friendly and courteous with me. He seemed professional and knowledgeable.

It was very unsettling and it is a hassle dealing with the credit card company.

The company called me the Monday morning after I input the request online Sunday night, and a technician was here by 10 AM. He listened to the observations I had of the problem then inspected the situation. Then he arranged to have their locator come in the afternoon to find the source of the leak. It was later afternoon before he finished and so the repairs were done the next day. While the plumber encountered problems when he unexpected hit a pipe while opening up the floor -- because the house is pre-code and pipes were less than 3 inches from surface -- we were not charged extra for the additional time he needed to spend. The technicians are paid per job rather than per hour, so they work efficiently. Also, because I knew my elderly father would be hovering over the repairman, chattering away in a manner that becomes obnoxious, I had asked for someone tolerant and able to deal with such a situation. Tom T. was excellent in that regard, and I really appreciated it.

It was 4:00 in the afternoon when I called, and I was happily surprised that a technician would be able to tackle my problem within a few hours. Will came out to fix the valve. He was friendly, professional, and very helpful. He had the job finished quickly and did a nice job cleaning up, too.

Arrived an 45 min after promised. Told me I had galvanized pipe when it was copper before even looking at it. Brought out his quote book an showed a price of $675. I said Thanks/No Thanks.

After discovering a blockage of the sewer line, I called one of the national brand rooter services to come out. He tried snaking the sewer line for 15 minutes and told me he could not clear it. He also then told me that it was a broken sewer line which needed to be dug up and replaced (all without use of a camera). To boot, he offered to come back on his own and replace the line at a large discount (he quoted that it would be thousands of dollars). After that dialog, I joined Angie's List to find a reputable contractor. MCPlumbing arrived in a timely manner and discussed a variety of different options to fix the blockage. Never once did they jump to the conclusion that it was a damaged/collapsed sewer line. When the blockage was cleared they offered to use the camera to find out where the issue may be and taped it so I can provide the city with proof it was on the city sewer main. They were professional and had the customers interest in mind all the time. Kudos to them!

A leaking toilet was replaced. The house call for an estimate of work to be done was $59.50. This fee was waived in the total cost of $692.83 for the installation of a new Kohler toilet. The plumber, Hector, had given me several options, including trying to repair the old toilet, as well as replacing with several different models. I decided to replace this older toilet (I believe it was as old as the house - 45 years). The work to install the new toilet was done efficiently and neatly to my total satisfaction. A one year warranty of the toilet and labor was included in the total cost. I would highly recommend the services of this plumbing company.

A menu price estimate was given, which does not break out the labor cost nor the material cost. I asked the company several times to specify what brand and model of sump pump they would use consistent with the estimate. All they would give me, despite repeated requests, is the name of the manufacturer of the pump, not the model number. Therefore I was unable to determine what I was paying for in material and labor costs respectively. I called a handyman who quickly diagnosed the sump pump problem as a clog caused by debris. The debris was removed and the pump now works well. There was no charge by the handyman.

I saw the ad for Mike Council's Plumbing in Angie's List monthly book. They were able to fit me in the day I called them to fix a leak from the dishwasher. Technician saw that the pipes were wrongly configured and in record time he reorganized the piping. The leak is fixed, we have more room under our sink and any plumbing that needs to be done in the future will be much easier.

I called AAA Mike Counsil Plumbing at 8AM on a Sunday morning. Peter arrived at my home by 9AM. He gave me a high estimate. I countered with an estimate given by another source from Angie's List. He agreed. I asked him if he was aware of the city codes. He was not sure. I asked him if there was someone he could call. He said not on Sunday. He said, "It's just for air. How difficult could it be?" He began the work and I assisted him. It took him a little over 4 hours. The finished product did not look like what I expected. Incorrect routing. The next morning the other company I called arrived un-announced. I asked him to take a look at the work to see if it was to code. It was not. I called AAA MCP and asked for someone to take a look. To my surprise Mike Sr. (Owner) showed up. He confirmed the work was incorrect and said he would have a supervisor take care of it. Sean had to redo the job completely. Quality of the finished work was excellent.

The guy who came by said it would cost $350. He mentioned something about the valve not having been installed properly, etc. (He didn't even remove the handle). I refused the job, paid the estimate fee and had another plumber come by instead. The other company fixed the valve in under 30 minutes. They charged me $97.50 including parts. Needless to say, that's the last time I'll be calling Mike Council Plumbing.

I thought the man doing the work did a nice job. I felt upset and questionable about the people who actually own the company. We specifically told them we wanted to buy a water heater with a 10 year warranty. They guaranteed us that. After it was installed, my husband went to get the serial number off the unit and discovered that it only has a 6 year warranty. We called the company and the secretary actually told us that they do that all the time. She said they would send us a letter to guarantee it, but that is irrelevant and at that point we were done. I don't think they were very honest and they should be upfront with people. In terms of the actual work, we were pleased, but we did not like the fact that they were dishonest with us.

Very quick and pleasant phone response. Very quick appointment, but very high quote. Has the work Counsil quoted at $1250 done (very well) for $451 by another company on Angie's List.

I am impressed with how they do business on the phone. They are experienced and understand the specifics of the job. Good in dealing with customers and answering all questions.

They were very responsive and got out here quickly. They were on time when they said they would be out. The work was good. The price might have been a little high, but it wasn t too bad. They were professional and did a great job.

Greg arrived promptly at 9 am. He explained work that needed to be done to solve my immediate problems. He answered all of my questions regarding price, parts and additional work. Greg was able to get all work done quickly and efficiently so that the electrician could proceed. He was well organized with his tools/equipment and cleaned up work area nicely. Greg was friendly and courteous.

I found AAA Mike Counsil Plumbing on Angie's List yesterday. I called them around 1:00 PM to repair a leaking bathroom sink drain. They gave me an appointment for today at 10:00 AM. Well, at 9:30 today, they called to tell me they couldn't make it and would I be willing to wait until the following day or the day after that. Personally, I find this to be unacceptable, especially since their website, the yellow pages, the sides of their trucks, and all of their advertising boasts 60 minutes service, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. I have a leaky drain that I've already waited a half a day to get fixed. I could have found an alternate plumber yesterday if I had known they weren't coming. If you're looking for someone to come same day or next day, this probably isn't your best choice. They don't keep their commitments.

They came out the same day I called them. the workers were very friendly, clean and respectful. they were sensitive to the fact that we were having a remodel done in a few months so did a temporary fix to hold us over till the remodel work can replace it.
