On that phone call it came up that Mike Council also installs shower enclosures. I was interested in an estimate from them for that service as well. I was very specific that glass colors, and textured obscuring glass was very important to me. The provider stated that there was no problem with that, estimator could bring some samples for that work as well. When the estimator for the provider did show up on July 8th, he was a half an hour late, he would listen to me for a moment on specifics issues such as access to plumbing and feasibility of a shower faucet job and possible trouble with other faucets needing installation, without clarity, estimator would walk away and stand outside on the phone, I assume with his "higher up." This interchange and mysterious leaving happened four to five times. There was no clear moment of assessment, looking at access below, he didn't seem to look at much, but disappeared often. My home is new, and all plumbing assemblies are new and clean. After I received a $635 estimate for only two faucets (before the $200 Big Deal.) I inquired about the estimate and samples for the shower enclosure. The estimator was not informed of this aspect of the visit and was not prepared with any information except that the shower enclosures are done by a side company off of Mike Counsil plumbing and he would forward my information to them. He also alluded that the shower remodel arm of the company might give me a lower bid on faucet work if tied to the shower enclosure. So, now I am referred to Mario with their shower remodeling company. He arrives without the samples I asked for, didn't measure out anything, didn't offer an estimate as we needed to see samples. It was clear in our discussion that I went to the Mike Counsil website and saw their standard obscured glass choices and that I was interested in other styles. He told me he would send me an email later with images that he had on a computer. 24 hours later I received two emails one with attachments (pix of already seen standard samples that I had viewer from their site,) and the other with missing attachments (not one image.) This happened to be the set of images of the "other styles" of glass that I wanted to see. I had to wait through the 3 day 4th of July weekend. The missing images that he meant to send were black and white scans of a black line drawing from a catalog of etched glass that was nowhere near what I had asked for. In the time all of this took, I had another high rated plumbing company from Angie's List install two faucets perfectly for half the price and I even ordered a desired trim kit for my shower from Amazon and installed it myself, and I have a shower enclosure company, found on Angie's List formulating an estimate after sending an estimator out quickly, taking appropriate steps in measuring every aspect of my shower enclosure job.

There were some scheduling issues with the provider. I called at 10 AM Monday to check if our appointment was still on for 1PM and I got a confirmation that it is still on. However, their technician was busy with the prior appointment and they will have to reschedule ours to Wednesday. This does not work for me and I have to cancel it.

He was on time, professional, knowledgeable and informable, however the only thing I didn't like was his pricing. I thought his company's pricing was higher than I expected.

They came out for a quote at the last minute on a small plumbing job. The pros: Professional office staff, disposal of a plumber at the last minute, beautiful truck (I should have known then), really nice service guy (super clean uniform (should have known then, too). Cons: This is a job that at MAX should have cost $350 and really could have been done for $250, parts included. They quoted me $650!!! I should have known it was gonna be outrageous when he formally typed the job into an ipad with blue tooth keyboard. An old school plumber would have come up, looked at the job, estimated the parts, and given me a price right there on the spot. I estimated the job time at 1 1/2 hours including the time to drain the house. If the parts costs $40, then they are paying themselves $610/hr for 1 1/2 hours of work - must be nice!

The provider just responded via email to tell me that he didn't service my area.

So, this is a tricky one. My garbage disposal unit was leaking and the second drain was running slowly, so I snagged this offer. The company was quick and courteous, and the young man who showed up at my door was friendly and professional. HOWEVER... When he took a look at the job, he explained that the company did not charge by the hour, but by the job, and--after my $99 credit--the cost was going to be $497. And that was if I purchased the new garbage disposal unit. And because I have galvanized pipe, he told me that was just the beginning; he was likely to find more work that would have to be done once he opened it up. So, $600 for a leaky garbage disposal unit and likely more after that. After my sink would have been opened up and I would not be able to stop the additional charges. Oh, and the garbage disposal in question is one of those that has a "snap-in" installation so that actual replacement can be done in minutes by the average home owner. I used to maintain machinery (computers, cash registers, etc), and I know that the skills required to do that work need to be honed over time, and that should be rewarded. Having said that, $600 for what is--for an expert--approximately 90 minutes of labor, is excessive. Because, remember, that was AFTER $99 credit. Which actually should have been $200 credit. I don't know whether I will get the $99 back; I hope I do.

The system works great. Will definitely call them again, we bought the service plan for the unit installed.

Everything was done well and in a professional manner. The quality of work was great and I liked actually learning a bit along the walkthrough of the house. I wasn't sold anything else, although a new hot water heater was recommended and a quote was given to me.

I have signed up for Mike Counsil's Diamond program since I knew I will be having quite a bit of electrical and plumbing done on my house in the next couple of years. The service went fine. They were really expensive though - charging double what other plumbers charge. The plumber used was very helpful. However, he determined I needed a new sewer line and called in a consultant/sales guy to provide a quote. This took the better part of the day to get the consultant to my house. The consultant spent a lot of time with me and I loved his advice. But he went into high pressure mode. Wanted the job to begin immediately since they had an opening in the calendar. The quote was very expensive. I ended up being pressured into signing for the work. Had second thoughts and canceled the next day. The consultant still tried to convince me I needed a new sewer line. I called another plumber in to get a second opinion. They felt I did not need a replacement yet. I am now going to call a third plumber to break the tie.

We made an appointment for 3 pm. They were going to charge us $798. I got a call ten minutes before our appointment and they canceled. I called another company that I have done business with in the past and they quoted me $450 for the exact same toilet and service. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The followup was good. They are knowledgeable , courteous , professional. They clean up and ensure to wear shoe caps, crawl space suits etc. The work quality is fine. The cost is something disturbed me a lot. The water heater replacement , 6 yr warranty and 2 minor works costed me $2100. Yesterday I saw homedepot doing free installation of water heater with 9 yr warranty for $481 only. so I think I paid through the roof. I do not think minor work would have excceded $300. I just believed their prices.They are very very costly. I would definately use right Handyman to get such work done. They gave good inputs on water pressure, usage of tankless water heater, maintaining drain pipes. Initially the guy said he would do something about it for me in the same price, but later he said its lot of work.

They are a little bit expensive buy they do an excellent job. Very good quality.

The technician, Victor, was thoroughly professional, punctual and easy to work with. He performed the work on time, correctly and cleaned up completely. The prices are relatively high but the warranty and responsiveness of the company were worth it.

Ask for Charles, he was professional, courteous and fast, especially considering the scope of the job. He was also very flexible working to my schedule. A small job quickly turned into a big job. I was aware of some sewer line cracks but not all till they opened up the walls and I saw the calcification and wetness in my blown-in insulation on the exterior walls. A sewer backup would have turned into a major problem. The quality of the work was amazing. He added clean out access points to improve future servicing and even cleaned up after a previous plumbing company who left discarded piping, plastic and other materials when I had the house replumbed about 5 years ago. My house was built in 1978. The cracks all occurred where the original contractor glued the various sewer sections together. It appears to be a reaction between the glue used and the plastic at that time. If your home is of similar age I recommend having Charles take a look for you.

The Mike Counsil team did a great job! Jeff and Victor were very professional and the pricing was fair. They were timely, very clean and very courteous as they worked in the house. Jeff helped me choose the right Water Heater and Water Purification system for my house and family needs and helped me choose the right package that includes lifetime maintenance on both units as well as lifetime replacement of the water heater.

Everything turned out well. I hired them because I was looking for someone who could do the work without disrupting the tenants. They were able to complete the work within one or two days and that is why I hired them.

Work was good. However, supervisor told me over the phone that job would last approx. 2 hrs. I have had this work done in the past a couple of times and that was an accurate estimate. This time, plummer took 4hrs to complete!!

They did it efficiently, on time, and for the amount of money they said they would do it for. They were very very good.

However, Mike Council Plumbing did work in the past and they are always excellent, therefore their prices are not the cheapest. They also came out in a storm emergency call to restore power when we have big storms.In this free home inspection, I expected a rather cursory look around. But it was the opposite! Josh was awesome. He checked every fixture, connection and pipe, including under the house. He was meticulous and thorough and wrote a complete report on his findings. After the inspection he reviewed with me each of the items on his inspection checklist. Josh was very knowledgeable on everything related to plumbing, he was professional, respectful and neat. He was careful not to track anything into the house (we live in the woods) and he cleaned up everything when the job was done. I found this inspection service to be extremely useful, educational and informative. We also discussed preventive maintenance, leach fields and cleaning products and products used for clearing drains. He knew which years an inferior imported plastic pipe product was installed. All in all, I got more than my money's worth. I have recommended this company to my neighbors who also were very pleased. Josh taught me the value of periodic inspections that my husband and I can do. If they run another special including free home inspection, just do it! I wold

They did a very good job But they are expensive

Work performed totally to our satisfaction and then some. Quality of work was A+. The crew was on time every day and did not leave until we had at least some minimum amount of water and sewer service each day. The crews varied from one day to the next but there were three plumbers who were on the job most days: (1) the "chief" [M.P.S.], the lead installer [C.P.], and a very competent helper [T.C.]. All were perfect gentlemen and strove to meet our needs and wants as they arose. These three get an A+ as well. The dollar cost of the job was high but the value received was well worth the price in terms of both the final product received and the low level of anxiety experienced by us for over one month that the job took. We must not forget to mention the original guy who came out and provided excellent advice on what things needed to be done and then provided a detailed contract for us to sign. Great job EVERYONE -- from start to finish. Mike Counsil will be at the top of out list for our next plumbing job. could notipingthethe

You''l see this service advertised as one day bath remodel in the Mercury News, and I called based on a 20% off sale ad. The same day, January 19th, Byron came out and gave us a quote which we accepted. A few days later, Mike Counsil himself came out to verify the measurements and tell me that it would be a few weeks to have the different parts of the system manufactured. On Feb 19th, I called to ask how it was coming along, and after some discussion it was clear they had the parts and we scheduled a 4 day installation the following week. That's great- much of my family would be travelling, so we only need 1 usable bath. 2 installers show up early Monday morning, cover the floors in plastic and begin demolishing 2 of the baths. Breaking cast iron tubs with sledge hammers is neither a neat nor quiet operation, also resulting in a hole in the wall of the other bath due to an overzealous bit of hammering. They sweep up the demo area, and the house is a bit dusty at the end of day one. Next couple of days, only 1 installer shows up and progress slows as he builds out his kit of tools and parts that aren't in the truck. By the end of the week, one bath is done, one is mostly done, and demolition is complete on the third. The following Wednesday the third bath is finished! Yea! After letting it sit for a day, we learn that the soaker tub doesn't drain, another visit and it's fixed. Now the final shower in the master bath creaks when you move around in it- not the experience I'm looking for. They show up the next day and cut out the wall in the bath next door and pump sealer under the tub. a day later- not better. So the next attempt is to cut out the ceiling in the bath below and reshape the drain hole. that works! A couple of days later the drywall guy shows up and patches all of the new holes plus the variety of nail pops caused by the demo- I guess we'll just paint all the bathrooms now. Since the work is done, the office charge our credit card for the remainder- only they'd lost track of the check I'd written for 50% as partial payment. It took 2 days to straighten that out, made more inconvenient as it came right when the card was due to be paid. About the same time, I find fiberglass bits in the whole house air cleaner that are the same color as the old shower. So, have the furnaces serviced, clean the carpets, paint the bathrooms and we're done- 2 months after the first call. In the end the acrylic is nice, but the customization is all done in the house and finished with silicone caulk to hide the corners and oops. So, we've got lovely surfaces, nice new doors and a mediocre caulking job to finish the job. I had chosen this premium cost and material to get a job done in a small window. Not even close- not fast, not better, and certainly not more convenient. Every person is pleasant and does their best- it just doesn't add up to the greeting you get when calling the office- "How can I make you smile today?"

Very professional organization. They use their own employees rather than sub-contractors used.
