Excellent. I called for replacement estimate for my furnace that was not working. Reinhardt was so professional that he said that he would try to fix it without replacing the whole unit. In a few minutes he found the problem and had the part to fix the problem and in the process saved me thousands of dollars. I had two other suppliers come and they just wanted to replace it and in fact another person charged me twice as much for doing nothing!

I am very pleased with how professional this company has been to work with. I called last week to schedule an appt and got one for this morning. Reinhardt came, examined the system, added the freon and we were done - fast, quick and my house is nice and cool - yippee! I'm a happy camper because I received excellent service for a fair price. Another company that I used wanted to charge me $275 to find the "leak and repair" plus charge me additional for the freon. I was skeptical so I decided to get another opinion and found A &H, I am so glad that I found them. I highly recommend this company and will use them again.

When bid was submitted, he was the only one who acted like he really wanted the job. Men were always on time worked through the many problems they encountered. Finished on time. Returned for inspection which passed.

The technician inspected the work while my husband was here. When I arrived and asked how things looked he yelled at me. He yelled that the furnace and the installation was totally illegal and had not been inspected. I informed he that he was mistaken. I suggested I put my bags down before we continue the conversation, but he kept raising his voice. He yelled to my husband to report my remarks as if he was accusing me of not knowing what I was talking about. My husband confirmed that the system had indeed been inspected. There was no apology. The technician then told us that we could have a dual zone heat system but was quite sarcastic with his responses to our questions. We did not receive any evaluation of the duct work which is what we payed for. It was not until after he left that I realized this. I thought he had left it with my husband. I was expecting a bid for the dual zone project. I have not received one. I payed $80 for an evaluation that I did not get. I payed $80 for a free estimate that I never got. I got ripped off.

We had to wait 4 days without a heater because they were so booked up and then the part for our furnace was not in stock. Rhienhart used a piece of cardboard to for a temporary fix. The cardboard stopped working, we called Rhienhart (he got back to us right away) and he told us how to fix it again and it worked until they came out with the part. I would happily use this firm again.

The heat stopped working a few days after moving into my new house. I emailed A&H on Wednesday night, Dale called me back Thursday morning and scheduled the service for that same morning. He called ahead of time to say he was on his way over and showed up during the allotted time. He quickly got in the attic and diagnosed the problem performed service (faulty draft pressure sensor) and got the heat up and running again. He also took some time to explain other issues and failures that I might have to deal with and suggested some improvements that I could do to the system. Overall great service and I would gladly call him again to service my HVAC.

They are absolutely fantastic! The quality is great. They are always on time. They are polite and do great work. They even came out on a Sunday because I was hot and it was bothering my asthma. They do sheet metal and ducts. The price is very reasonable and they do an excellent job every time. They don't leave it open ended so that they can come back.

Dale was very prompt to arrive for our scheduled appointment. He was professional, polite, and answered several questions I had throughout the vetting process over a couple of weeks. I had two other highly recommended contractors from Angie's List also visit and give me quotes. My problem was that I needed a two trip installation due to much termite damage to the furnace platform which needed rebuilding and some asbestos that needed to be removed on the old plenum. Ultimately, only A&H was able to accommodate my needs here, but their pricing was also more competitive and they offered the brand I desired. I did some research on the unit they recommended and it received the highest ratings for performance and price. During the process I discovered I had a whole box of new furnace filters for the old unit. After inquiring if these would fit the new furnace Dale informed me they would not, but he could offer me a furnace that had more output at no extra charge that would fit the unused filters. I thought that was a really nice touch, but declined the unit as I thought it was more than my home needed. On day one of the project Jerry arrived on time with his assistant. He got right to work and wasted no time pulling out the old furnace and beginning the installation of our new heating air ducts. Our home had only two heating ducts and registers for the whole home and small ones for each bathroom. Jerry is a highly skilled craftsman and was able to determine everything needed to accomplish his task. He removed the old furnace, disconnected a duct/register attached to the plenum, and began installing the new ducts with registers. It was really hot in the attic and I felt bad for him, but he muscled through it. On day two Jerry brought the new furnace and installed it. He was very careful to observe all the new fire codes and added extra effort to make sure everything was in compliance. There was much of this installation that required custom sheet-metal work and I can affirm that Jerry is a master craftsman. He measured and cut. Everything was accurate. He also did a great job soundproofing my return under the new furnace to cut down on the noise. They were very careful to cleanup any debris and took everything away each day. The Inspection. When the city inspector reviewed Jerry's work he was very impressed. He looked at areas where some like to take shortcuts and complimented Jerry's expertise. Especially where he wrapped the plenum in the attic that had been previously wrapped with asbestos. He said most installers do not do as good a job as Jerry did where he wrapped everything including the new duct work. Jerry is a very conscientious worker. He takes a lot of pride in his craft and didn't take shortcuts when it was convenient, even when he was dehydrating rapidly in the attic during the new duct installation. I would HIGHLY recommend A&H Heating and Air Conditioning to anyone.

The crew arrived on schedule and were friendly, efficient and courteous. The job took 1/2 day longer than expected, partly due to added work but also due to the difficulty of working in a poorly designed crawl space. They protected the floor and furniture and cleaned up well after themselves. We were happy with their work.

My air conditioner in the house did not seem to be performing as well as it had the last 18 yrs, I wasn't sure what to do. A few days later, just as the weather was going into triple digits, I found water leaking from the heater/air conditioner all over one side of the garage floor. I had just signed up for Angie's list the day before and was so thankful I had her website to find someone who others had used for their air conditioning problems. I looked for someone that had all A reviews, as well as the most recent. I called A & H Heating & Air Conditioning Services, Inc. Rhienhart came out on the second day, diagnosed the problem right away. He had to cut and glue some replacement sections of PVC pipe and made the drain more efficient after all the gunk had drained out, then had me turn the AC on to make sure everything worked. I was so happy because I don't do well in heat and my budget is tight. Because of the age of my AC I was so worried I'd be facing a huge bill to replace it. It was a good feeling to know someone would have my best interest at heart, rather than their pocketbook.

They're a good company. I would use them again.

I had another company replace the heating ducts and after many delays and extra charges they left. Then I found that the air conditioner was leaking water. I didnt want anything more to do with that company, so I called A & H. They were booked for the next day so I made an appt. for the next day. They came on time (actually a little early) and had the problem fixed in less than two hours. My disposition has Improved since then.

A&H installed a new furnace for me a few years ago. I was pleased with all aspects of that job so I hired then to install a new A/C unit. Dale Phelps was very prompt about scheduling the meeting to an estimate. The builder (circa 1985) had done most of the prep work for the A/C, so Dale quoted me a good price.The installers arrived promptly and set to work. My impression was the easy part was installing the unit but the harder part was jumping through the hoops that the city of San Jose requires. For example, the city requires a GFI plug within 25 feet of the A/C unit, even though that plug has nothing at all to do with the installation. That forced the installers to trouble shoot and remove an exterior plug before thet could install the new one. Overall, the entire process took longer than I expected but the installers did an excellent job and today (4/21) when it's 100 degrees outside, it's nicely cool inside.

Fast and efficient. Reasonable rate. Would recommend.

Our heater suddenly stop working on 4/5 night. I called A&H at 10am on 4/6 to see if any one can come out to take a look the same day. The lady put me on hold for 5minutes and called around. She said Reinhart will be there between noon-2pm. He arrived right on time and was very polite. He asked where is the heater and if a ladder is needed. However, he didn't offer to take off his shoes or put shose covers and just walk right into the house. We already have a ladder setup, so he climbed right into the attic and after 2 minutes he said he know the problem and need a parts from his truck (hot surface ignitor). Less than 10minutes everything is good and running. He mummble something about cost of the parts and then 10% discount = 126$. I asked if he take cash or check and what is the preference. He said either is fine. So a a check for 126$ and tip10$ cash. He doesn't seem to like to chit chat, but very keen on explaining the problem. Will definitly call again if we have problems.

Rein had been out several times trying to save our 37 year old heater (original in the house) and was always punctual, helpful, and honest. When it was finally time to admit we needed a new one, it was obvious whom to call. A and H was out earlier than expected (no problem, better than late) and spent a long time thoroughly installing a new Trane heating unit. I emphasize they were here a long time not as a bad thing, but to emphasize the good job they did. They had the difficult task of hooking up a new unit to a previously existing A/C unit, so all pipes, etc. must be sealed. The guys were friendly, thorough, and cleaned up after. Rein called a few days later to make sure all was good. I highly recommend this company.

Thermostat lost responsiveness. Ryan came out, listned how the heater was trying to turn on, determined it was something in the attic and found an oxidized thermal sensor. Sand-paperd it off, and things were up and running in a jiffy!

Reinhard showed up on time and was very professional. As he was inspecting my two heating units, I got an education about what and how things can go wrong with the units. Luckily, my units were operating fine and did not need anything ---"just keep the filters clean". Not sure I learned enough to get a job as a heating repairman but I will definitely call Reinhard if I need a repair in the future. The price for his expertise (and education) was very reasonable.

Besides providing one of the lowest bids, A & H was the most responsive company to my call for an estimate and answering followup questions. Dale Phelps, the owner, came out, looked over the job and provided an estimate by email within a day. Once I accepted the estimate, work was scheduled and completed very promptly. The work crew was very careful not to do any damage to the roof {rooftop installation}. However, a small tear in a screen door occurred during the installation, and the crew took the screen door to be repaired without me even having to mention it. After the installation, I had a electrical circuit in the house {not the heater circuit} that kept tripping the breaker. I called Dale, and he was very helpful as to what the potential problem could be, most likely, a loose wire that occurred during installation of the heater's circuit breaker. Dale personally came out and, located the loose wire and fixed it, when I think a lot of contractors could have refused to even acknowledge that the problem could have been caused by their work. I highly recommend A & H heating!

The technician (Rheinhart) did a thorough job. Found the problem, fixed it and then informed me what would have to be done if the problem occurred again.

Dale Phelps, the owner, came out -- exactly at the time we agreed on. He examined the furnace and asked me to turn on the heater. He seemed very knowledgeable. In light of my apparent total lack of knowledge about the furnace, he could easily told me to get it replaced but he said my furnace was still in quite a good condition (because I haven't used it much in the past) and that there is nothing I should do now! I should simply make sure that the closet where the heater is housed is free of dust and spider webs and call him in a couple of years to service it!! He saved me lots of money and time this unnecessary replacement would have cost. Very gratified, I offered to pay for his time and service as a token of my gratitude, but he graciously declined. I would certainly use his company again for all my future needs and would recommend his company to any one without any hesitation.

We were given an estimate and a time was scheduled to install the heater. The two installers arrived promply when expected and did a great job. We were completely satisfied with the professionalism from the time we received an estimate for the work, to the installation, and thorough job of cleaning up. I would recommend them to anyone who asked.

Dale came out and gave me an estimate on installing mini-split systems in two rooms versus a full house A/C and heating system. After a number of e-mail consultations and another visit with him to obtain additional information, I decided to go with the full house option since it made more economical sense. The installers, Jerry and Steve, arrived as scheduled and completed the work in three days. Each day they put out their tarps over my rugs and also held a cardboard box under the ceiling locations where they cut through to install vents. At the end of each day they vacuumed the rugs and swept the driveway. From a cleanliness point of view, I couldn't tell that they had been there. They removed an old wall furnace (and took it away with them), patching the hole in the wall and installing a new length of floor molding. The cut on the first piece of molding was not correct, so they made a special trip to get a second length of molding to make sure the fit was correct. As my house had never had a furnace or ducting, they had to build all the platforms and supports in my attic area that the equipment required as well as a catwalk to the equipment for access. On the final (fourth) day, Jerry had to wait around for more than four hours for the city inspector to arrive (he had been given a four hour time window, and that is what it took). His patience and professionalism were exceptional. From my point of view, the whole process could not have been easier even though I knew the installation was more involved in my old house than it probably would have been in a newer house. I would recommend them without qualification.
