Description of Work: A-1 helped me replace entire duct work in the crawl space. They did an excellent job. The inspection took a little longer than expected, but it was no big deal.

Description of Work: I had two forced air furnaces units replaced by A1 Heating and Cooling in our late 30's era duplex and was very pleased with the outcome. I am the property manager for a family owned property and had been dreading the upgrade of the original furnaces for some time. I received estimates from three local companies and chose A1 based on the price and the level of knowledge and professionalism of Bill Gentile, the estimator and project manager for the job. I got a good sense of the depth of his knowledge and the professionalism of the company at our initial meeting. The job was complicated by the fact that the original ductwork had asbestos insulation and needed some repairs. I am a builder with an engineering background and really appreciate it when a tradesman can answer my questions and fully explain what they are proposing to do. As in every job there were a few hiccups but everything was resolved to my satisfaction and with little impact to my tenants. I feel that the price was very competitive given the complexity of the installation, our need for duct cleaning, insulation to underfloor ducting, wiring modifications, etc. The new high efficiency Trane furnaces are quiet and heat very effectively. A1's office staff patiently resolved a messy permit issue with the City of SJ and the technicians performed a quality installation. It was a pleasure to work with knowledgeable and competent office staff and technicians. I would use them again and recommend them highly.

Description of Work: Installed a programmable thermostat. He also inspected my furnace, cleaned it out & changed the filters I had sitting there but not installed yet. I wasn't expecting the furnace inspection or cleaning so that was a nice bonus. Thank you!

Description of Work: The thermostat in the ad shown was not the one installed. In the ad they showed a color screen wifi Honeywell thermostat but the one they installed was a black and white standard one. I already had a working thermostat of that kind so there was no point in replacing it. So I had him put the old one back in and got a refund. They were very professional about it and did that promptly

Description of Work: They came out to evaluate and estimate replacing our HVAC system in a rental house. The technician was prompt and courteous, he did a through evaluation and provided us with three routes of action at three different prices all of which were exceptional when compared to other quotes. and the start time was within three days for the work. | |he also identified a component we might want to replace ourselves since by having that component of the air handler replaced might resolve the current failure issue and get us additional years out of the air handler since the heater component and the AC component actually looked serviceable | |we took his advice and it saved us thousands of dollars... we will certainly call them again when the time comes when we actually have to replace this or any of our other systems

Description of Work: Installed new furnace and central air conditioning, programmable thermostat, cleaned vents and sealed ducts. Work was completed in a single day and appeared to go smoothly except for the installation of a single intake vent and filter, which took some persuasion from a hammer. Furnace and air conditioner function as expected when tested.

Description of Work: I bought the certificate for $44.00 to have an older model furnace inspected. The service man was pleasant, punctual and efficient. There was no attempt to |sell me anything!
