Description of Work: Rebuilt a piece of furniture that was partially deteriorated. Matched uncommon woods and did a quality job with excellent workmanship. A bit pricey, but worth it in the long haul, as such a possession may be around longer than I will be.

Description of Work: We had an ornate, very heavy, perpetual sagging entry door into our front courtyard (really the entrance to our home) -- it was so out of alignment we could barely lock it anymore. Enter Patrick the Door Doctor!! Folks, this guys KNOWS doors -- it's ALL he does -- he understands them (they're actually more complicated than you think) -- and he does his work very, very well! Within an hour, he had the door shimmed-up, he rebolted it, added missing and additional supports (we discovered it was never built quite right) -- and d*** if our sticky, recalcitrant door is now operating like it was just installed!! Patrick is a pleasure to deal with, totally prompt, courteous and reliable...and did I say he knows his stuff? VERY fair prices too. He actually charged us a bit less than he quoted. You got a problem door, this is your guy!

 + -1 moreFantastic! I would highly recommend Pat Stone to anyone needing help with a door. He came on Thursday morning to give me an estimate and by Friday at noon, my doors were hung beautifully. Our house is old (1921) and has a lot of little secrets. Pat explained to me exactly why he did the things he did. It was a little tricky because a previous handyman had cut the door too small, but Pat knew exactly how to make the door fit and look great. The screen door was new and he did a great job on that as well. He was prompt, good-natured, and an overall professional...he even played fetch with my dog! He has given me an estimate for another door on our house, and I plan on using him again. Pat fair priced and did not charge me for materials that he bought for the job, but did not use. Don't make the mistake of hiring any old handyman to hang a door...call the Door Doctor!
Description of Work: Removed existing door and lock sets. Hung new door and screen door. Planed and beveled door to fit. Cut holes for locksets. Installed new lockets, hinges, etc.

 + -1 moreIt went very well. We started by sending Mr. Stone digital photos of our existing door's hardware. As we found possible replacement door hardware on the internet, Mr. Stone worked with us via email to help us ensure the hardware would fit (an important consideration on a 60 year old door) function well and hold up nicely over time. After we made our hardware selection Mr. Stone purchased the hardware - for the same cost as the best price we could find via the Internet. For the installation appointment he arrived on time. He worked carefully and left no mess. The new hardware works and looks great. I will use Mr. Stone again for door work without reservation. Hardware cost was $205 and installation cost was $125.
Description of Work: We had the handset and deadbolt replaced on our front entry door.

He gave me the cost estimate over the phone and ordered all parts necessary for the job (door, hinges, lockset) based on my preferences. They showed up on time for the scheduled appointment to install door, were very professional, and gave recommendations that were helpful. The overall experience was perfect! I recommended him to my neighbor, as I was pleased with his expertise.
