Hello there. I don't recall doing work with you. We haven't done any projects in Daly City. Are you certain you have the correct architect? Take care, Geoff

He was brilliant ! There are thousands of decisions that must be made, building codes that must be complied with, and a host of Building Department requirements. The process was fairly quick and easy for us because Geoff knew how to prepare the package of documents for the City. We were under way with construction within a few months of requesting a permit. In San Francisco that's pretty fast. Once we started, there are always issues that come up. Every time one did, Geoff would let us know what was needed and recommend a solution. I always felt that he was on top of everything so I didn't need to worry about it. He frequently provided the contractor with details on moldings, doors, windows, baseboards and crown moldings a week or two before the contractor needed to have decisions made. We were never delayed because the contractor was waiting for us. Geoff stayed ahead of the project and thus avoided delays and problems that otherwise would have occurred. The details that he put into the plans and the spec sheet up front avoided the problems of disagreements with the contractor once underway. There were several areas in which the contractor tried to up charge me for details that we wanted and in every case Geoff referred the contractor to the plans and spec sheet showing what was required and previously agreed to. Geoff saved me thousands if not tens of thousands in what would have been delays and up charges because he stayed out in front of the project. I don't know what I would have done without him. Any Architect can draw plans, but that isn't enough to have a project run smoothly. We interviewed several Architects and Geoff stood out as really listening to our needs and being sensitive to our budget. After experiencing working with him I am even more convinced that he is very professional, and he brings a great deal of experience with him to the project. I would use him again, and have already recommended him to friends.
Description of Work: Geoff Gibson of Winder Gibson Architects was hired to design our home renovation in San Francisco. He interviewed us to determine our needs, desires, and budget limitations and then he proposed several options. Once we had the final draft selected he interviewed contractors, handled the bidding process, drafted contracts, formalized plans for submission to City Planning, and monitored the project from a down to the studs demolition thru final completion. He also advised and helped us along the way with selecting cabinets, appliances, fixtures, colors, moldings, doors etc.

GREAT! (Yes, all and quot;A'sand quot;) They showed up quickly to view and recommend designs for my complete-gut kitchen remodel. I really liked their proposed kitchen layout as it minimized the cost of relocating (expensive) gas and pluming services yet gave a huge increase in usable space and working efficiency. And they came up with a way to bring a lot more light and exterior view into the kitchen without a big expense. They then sent out another professional who meticulously measured the entire unit (not just the kitchen, but every room). In a short time, I had my preliminary blueprints emailed to me in PDF format, so I could view and print it (and even measure every part of the layout on my computer using my Adobe Acrobat Pro). When I asked for a change, I got a new drawing the same day! It went so well and efficiently, that in the end, I actually got a price reduction from the original estimate! How many companies do that? Just take a visit to their office and you will see a first-class operation with many architects working on many projects. Mine was a small job compared to some of the mega-high-rise structures and dream homes they work on, but I felt like a million dollars after working with Winder Gibson Architects. What a great company! I would use them again and again!
Description of Work: Designed Kitchen Remodel, prepared and submitted Architectural drawings for my contractor and city permits.
