Description of Work: I did some research for my daughter. She had nothing but good things to say about the service and professionalism of the sales and install staff. They all went over and above to provide assistance with issues and very flexible around scheduling. Got everything installed and cleaned up in one day. Wow.

Description of Work: Clearly this company's only agenda is to push you to sign a long term power contract and steer you away from purchasing a system, as it's not in their interest. I did not appreciate the representative's "because we're the best" answers to my questions.

Description of Work: Install of 34 solar panels. They took care of everything. Leased instead of bought. Rcvd monthly credit on lease payments (20 year lease) equivalent to tax credit would have received if purchased. Lease covers EVERYTHING. At any time can purchase system by paying the residual (as with a car lease). They handle all install, maintenance and regular check-ups. No need to add to house insurance - they cover all. Everyone I dealt with has been friendly, professional, efficient, timely and outstanding response to anything I bring up or have a question about. For some purchasing might be the way to go; for other, like us, leasing made the most sense.

We paid and we do not have solar.
Description of Work: We signed a contract in June. Nothing was done. The contract expired. They eventually came out anyway and put in the units. They then wrote us and said they were sending us to collections because we had been billed 3 times and we had not paid. We had notbeen billed. We have not been connected to the grid as yet. It's probably all phony. We did pay.

For our part, all the numbers work. We have no dispute with SunRun in this regard; something that is a problem mentioned in other reviews. Our complaint has to do with SunRun in their custody of legacy information necessary to pass down the next couple decades in a viable and comprehensive form for future board members. There have been times where our HOA board is found scratching our collective heads, trying to piece together exactly how and why a previous body made decisions about changing out electrical conduit, re-routing a water supply, or other such project management where files and notes are incomplete. The attraction of the relationship with SunRun was the ability to access the performance of our two systems online with our system's performance history readily available. This was a key factor in deciding to proceed with our SunRun association. Our complaint history and SunRun's responses over the years have disappeared as a part of their update processes. SunRun seems incapable of any task. I'm losing track of whether SunRun is in its fifth or six iteration of its web site. With each generational database and quot;upgradeand quot;, their systems reset our user names and passwords to those when our account was first set up. So if you want to access your account, you have to essentially get permission from SunRun to have access with each and quot;improvementand quot; made to their website. SunRun appears in the running to supplant the Tandem Computer/California DMV debacle for the Cannot-Find-Our-A****-With-Both-Hands Award for the past three decades. Hey SunRun, I hope not to live here in three years. What will you do then when the system resets this HOA account to a resident who no longer lives here? What will the process be for the HOA board members at that time to gain access to the account, especially since you cannot keep the contact information with our management firm straight? Here are some clues to help when contacting SunRun Customer Service No-Care: * Do not choose any phone extension selection except for sales. Make all of your connections through this selection. All extensions except for the case of SunRun thinking they might obtain new customers is a waste of your precious time. * When one calls SunRun, it becomes clear that SunRun is a forward thinking and progressive company. This is evidenced by the fact almost everyone in first tier support sounds like a heavy medical marijuana user. Listening to a little Cheech and Chong should help loosen up the lingo you'll want to access. Be prepared to speak in short sentences and repeat yourself. It is hard for your SunRun representative to hear you with all the yucking it up in the background. * With the exception of S. M. (a manager now; her efforts make all of SunRun a one-woman-show) you'll be hard pressed to find a representative who can keep your customer requests sorted, especially when you are on hold over twenty seconds. My tongue is not too much in cheek when I make the above suggestions. In the last two years, I've spent well over one hundred hours on the phone with SunRun keeping our account sorted and available for myself and other board members to have access. When I'm on my deathbed and thinking about significant amounts of time that I have wasted, my hours of transactions with SunRun might come to mind. In my opinion, SunRun is a not-ready-for-prime-time company that is not capable of B2B institutional relationships. If you have the opportunity to have your solar provider refer another like organization, PLEASE (after due diligence) go with them instead.
Description of Work: In another review, you can see that I am quite pleased with an REC Solar 25 Kwh array installation for our HOA. By REC Solar, we were introduced to SunRun for a third party leasing contract that would allow our non-profit HOA to take advantage of an especially beneficial contract that would help recoup tax incentives for which our HOA's LLC is ineligible. Our contract with SunRun also includes insurance for any damage to our system, as well as payment if the array does not meet a performance guarantee.

.They were horrible from day one. They did not know what they were doing. It was a night mare. They called the other day and I told them I would not recommend them to anyone. It was crazy. I never got a contract so I had no idea what was going on. They do not know what they are doing. The communication is not good at all. I would not deal with them again.

I'm still working on providing the same information 12 months of bills) I provided the operator during the initial sales call.
Description of Work: Sun Run is the administrator of the solar panels installed by Verango. I now have 2-electriciy bills, one from Sun Run the other from Southern California Edison. It's much more difficult to caculate the savins if any from no longer have SCE as the only operator. In fact they could be more expensive.

I actually had a little bit of complaint about the way they handled of giving us the estimate because they had somebody come out give us what supposed to be an estimate based on looking at the area of the roof, sort of glancing around and deciding that there were lot of obstructions. I had somebody else come out who did an actual survey. They got up on the roof when they came and measured all the angles of the trees and everything. He came back and told us that if we tried to install on the entire roof which was what I was talking about on run but there was a significant portion of the roof that wouldn't produce enough to the economically worth while. That would be shaded about 40%-45% of the time. So when I called SunRun and said why they didn't do a complete job of that then their answer was basically they were just giving a primarily estimate and if I had signed the contract then they would have sent somebody else to do the complete engineering job. It wasn't really how it was stated when they first came out. So I was a little put off by that. It just seemed that the first contractor had reported to be an estimate was extremely inaccurate and they were projecting pay back on everything that was completely bogus. The amount depends upon how much I purchase for installation and how much I simply leave. There was wide variety of arrangements for what they quoted. Everything from no upfront cost with the little small decrease in the electricity cost to actual owning this system and buying a service contract and if you own this system then you also get the renewable energy that could be sold. So its kind of complex answer to what the quote was but it was all based on this estimate that we would be able produce and I think it was an average of 9.8KW and six hours a day. It turned about to be a more reliable higher estimate which would have completely changed the economic of the whole thing. So if I had purchased the whole thing from them after rebate it would have been $28000. I wasn't real impressed at all with them but they were very pleasant. Their professionalism was where the issue was as they didn't do the complete job of the estimate process. I wouldn't have them again in the future for anything.
Description of Work: SunRun just gave an estimate for installation of solar panels in August this year. The estimate was about $28,000.

Company was contracted to provide approximately 20kw groundmount solar array system. First installation subcontractor (REC Solar) walked from contract stating was too difficult and they had no experience (after selling me for 6 months that this type of installation was their niche). Second installation subcontractor provided a much higher bid in order to completed already contracted rate. SunRun was totally unresponsive after dozens of phone calls and emails to intervene and abide by their contractual obligation. BUYER BEWARE.

They came out in March and we agreed to an installation in June. It was completed in early July. By the end of July the inspection had been completed and we were allowed to turn on the system. They were very personable and answered all our questions. They worked with us on all the different financing packages. They were very informative during the permit and installation processes. We received emails from them on a regular basis with updates. They were available for questions during installation. We have recommended them to other people.

We are also hooked up to pump extra energy back to Eddison. It took a little bit of time initially, but at the time I initially looked it was going to be more expensive and out of pocket. There is now a program where I can lease the equipment instead of paying the upfront cost. So far, I am really impressed with the system. It sure is fun watching the meter run back wards. SunRun did all of the work quickly and with the highest of quality. I wish this leasing program had been available to me sooner. I got in on a special deal where they would install the equipment and we can lease the equipment it for about $165.00 a month, and that deal is for as long as I want to use the system. All of the workers were very professional and did a fantastic job.
Description of Work: They installed solar electric system that now generates most of my electricity.
