 + -1 moreThey were not able to get the truck to the door so they carried everything on their back. They were very gracious to do it and they did not . They are very efficient and very cautious moving our stuff. They were willing to work with me on price and they made the day really easy. I had a four month old at the time and I was thinking the day was going to be a challenge.

 + -1 moreThe experience was very smooth. I highly recommend them. They came in and stuck to the estimate. I think they could improve in unpacking. They just took things out of the box and put in on the floor or counter. They do not put things away for you. They did not explain that to us initially.

 + -1 moreShamrock arrived at 9:30 am about half hour late due to an accident on the highway which did not bother me one bit as I needed that time to do more packing. The move was about 7 hours of solid work and 2 hours of travel. It was the best value for my money ever. These guys really worked up a sweat. They packed loose items too. I was amazed at how orderly the moving process was in terms of deciding what to move first, second, etc and how to pack the truck. They reviewed with me what needed to be moved in every room and the back yard and also reviewed with me the number of extra stops to make (storage unit and workplace). Very thorough. They were very careful with all the furniture, wrapping every item with blankets and plastic, resulting in nothing broken or nicked except for a leg that came off my cheaply built desk, which I don't fault them for at all. All my expensive crystal and china came through the move unscathed. They worked so hard that I wish I could have given them an even larger tip.
Description of Work: Shamrock moved me out of my 2 bed, 2 bath, as well as my storage unit and my work office and into my condo.

 + -1 moreThey got a big desk down a narrow stairs (move out) that my move-in movers had to hoist up over a balcony. I have lots of fragile, old or fine finish furniture. Everything was carefully wrapped and carried. They were very careful and efficient.
Description of Work: Moved a house of furniture and many prepacked boxes down 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 flights of stairs on a hillside home. Some went into a garage some into a upstairs flat.

 + -1 moreThe moving van and 3 movers arrived at Stinson Beach at 8:30 a.m. and loaded the truck. We had just a 3 hour window time to arrive and unload at 101 Lombard St. They arrived on time and unloaded the truck and helped me place the furniture where I directed they too. They were finished and on their way by 2:00 p.m. They were very fast and very neat. Wonderful job.
Description of Work: They moved me from Stinson Beach to San Francisco. They did an excellent job and nothing was damaged. I would highly recommend this company and if I or any member of my family needs to move we will use Shamrock.

 + -1 moreThey did a great job of handling our furniture and belongings. We live on a very busy street in San Francisco, and Shamrock did a great job of navigating traffic and loading the huge truck. They took great care in packing, wrapping, and loading. We lost nothing in the move, not a single broken dish or glass. Shamrock was on the higher end of the quotes we received, but based on other reviews and the professionalism of the team, we went with them. We are so glad we did, it was well worth the extra money.
Description of Work: Shamrock handled our move from San Francisco to Palm Springs. We had a 3+ bedroom house full of antiques and over 20 years of accumulated living.

 + -1 moreI've done a couple cross country moves in the last few years but have had just so-so experience. I was very happy w/Shamrock. Jose from the Menlo park office was my contact. He was on-time for the walk-thru, quick to get the quote back. I had to change the move dates a few times, and they were totally open to working with me on that. On the day of the pack, their packers came and worked all day. Did an excellent job. Then on the move day, they were well organized and got our stuff moved much faster than I expected. This was by far the least stressful move I've ever had. I would absolutely use them again!
Description of Work: Friend recommended Shamrock. Moved from Peninsula to East Bay for family of 4.

 + -1 moreIt took longer than I thought, but they did have to help me with packing the kitchen as I just did not have time to finish it. They arrived pretty much on time. It was a miserable day with rain most of the day. I had Salvation Army picking up unwanted items the same day and, although I had them clearly marked, there was some mix-up on this. As my many moving experiences over the years go, this was about average, not great but not terrible, although I am still p***** about my computer being held hostage and not returned to me or paid for as promised.
Description of Work: The movers did an adequate job of helping me with some packing and with moving. However, they did not finish setting things up (remount mirror to dresser, etc.) and had to come back very late. Also, I understood that I had arranged to sell my desktop computer to the man who came out and did the estimate and we had agreed that he would pay me $200 for the hard drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, software, etc. However, when move day came, the movers, of course, knew nothing about this. I told them to go ahead and take the computer and I would speak to Jose (the estimator) about it later, as I didn't want to have to take the computer to him and I had no place for it in my apt. (downsized). I now think it was coincidental that my e-mail account was hacked that weekend, but I have no way of knowing. When I called Jose and told him and asked him to pay for the computer as he had agreed, he swore that it was still packed up and that he did not want to buy the computer now and would bring it back and drop it off in the apartment manager's office. I have not seen the computer since, and when I called him again, he still says it is packed but that I need to come get it, but they are only open when I am at work. The issue remains unresolved.

The workers were extremely reliable, very professional and very hard working. They did an incredible job and really made it a stress free situation so we didn't mind paying a little bit more for that experience.

Description of Work: We had a large household consisting of 2 families. Both families were having most of their belongings put into longterm storage at Shamrock (but they had to be kept totally separate) and then each family needed to have a smaller portion of their belongs put into shortterm storage. The movers were very patient in keeping the items separated and any mistakes that were made were as a result of our misdirection. The only negative was that one morning they had a mover who was not a regular employee and he wasn't very good. He was replaced within a few hours by an experieced worker and we were given a discount for the hours he was there. As far as the storage facilities, I must be honest and say that I have no idea how well it is being run since we have not been there and haven't tried to access our household belongings.

 + -1 moreThey came out and gave me an estimate based on time required. They also supplied material so I could do most of the box packing to save time. They arrived on time and only took 4 hours to complete the entire job This included some packing. moving from 2nd floor apt, almost 90 minutes drive time in Bay Area traffic (they arrived ahead of the car) and perfect placement of boxes and furniture. The only hitch was I didn't ask for cost of materials so the price was a little higher than expected. I did have the cash on hand because I expected to give the movers a tip. Still I paid about 15% (not enough cash on hand for a tip) more than expected-my bad for not asking. Nothing lost or broken and everything placed where it needed to be. Best of all-quick and efficient.

Description of Work: Three men packed up my big items (bed, table, electronics, clothes in closet, dressers, mirror). I had previously packed the dishes, books, and other smaller stuff. They then moved them by truck three blocks away to my new apartment and put my things where I asked them to. All went well. Nothing was broken or damaged.
