The two representatives who came (salesman and a trainee) showed up promptly and provided very good information about their service. The produced a quote which their material led me to believe would be a Carrier system. During the session the salesman asked if we were going to get other quotes. We said yes and told them who we had received quotes from and who we were waiting to get quotes from. At that point the salesman made derogatory comments about the company that we ultimately selected. The salesman was high pressure and pushed us to sign that day or not be able to get the "discounts" he had provided. We signed the contract. When we received the dvd of the quote (he provided it immediately) I said thank you and they left. I then checked the quote and discovered that the materials to be installed were from various vendors and did not include Carrier equipment. We submitted the cancellation paperwork. They called the day before their proposed installation date to confirm. I notified them that we had sent in the cancellation.

I tried to have Sears come out to provide regular maintenance on the air conditioner I purchased from them. I have a 10 year service warranty on the air conditioner. They were supposed to come between 1 pm and 5 pm. They never gave me a reminder the night before the appt. and when I called them about 3:00 pm they told me they were running late and would be there at about 6:00 pm. At 5:30 the service man called and said he was running late and would call me in about 1 1/2 hours. This was unacceptable for me. I tried to call and complain to the customer service dept. - they put me on hold and never came back when I said I wanted a partial reimbursement on the service plan I paid for. They offered no apologies or absolutely no actions to take care of a customer that has spent thousands of dollars over the years with them. This is the second time I have had this experience with Sears. They did the same thing when I tried to get them to come out and repair a washing machine that was under a warranty. The worse customer service I have ever experienced!!!! Please stay away from Sears!!

They were terrible. They did not explain to me fully that they needed a kit for the floor. Then they explained that the kit and shed did not have a floor. It was just a base so we had to buy plywood and none of that was explained to us. I went into the store and it very difficult to get anybody to wait on us and when they did, they messed up. The shed was so complicated to put together, it took two weeks to do it. The shed was $299.00 and the floor kit was $150.00.

Mario Estrada, representing Sears Home Improvement, visited our house during the first week in March, showed us a tile catalogue, made a written estimate to tile our dining room ( $ 2,160.40 ) and promised to bring actual tile samples for the project. He emailed on March 14th that he had obtained the sample and would bring them out in the next day or two. Since that date, almost two weeks ago, we have not heard from him. He not answered repeated emails or telephone calls. I called the main office for Sears Home Improvment and was told that Estrada would call us back immediately. That was over a week ago and we have heard nothing. One can only assume that he concluded that the project was not worth his time or that he is no longer employed by Sears Home Improvement. In either case, his lack of follow-up is both unprofessional and discourteous. For this reason, we would not recommend Sears Home Improvement to others nor will we ever call them again ourselves.. Ac

I tried to get someone to talk with and I got transferred a couple of times. There is no one there to talk to. They sound like they're clueless. Their paperwork people were idiots. Their installers were okay except they shouldn't have done it in parts. They promised me they would be done that day and they showed up at 10 in the morning.

They send a sales man out to your house and then you are called on by a contractor that I guess is affiliated with Sears. The unit works really well, I am happy with that, but we did have some problems having it put in and we called Sears to have them come out and service it and they never did come out and service it. I was not happy with their service after we bought it, but their unit itself seems to work well. When you put that unit in, you have to have it inspected and initially it failed and then they had to come back to fix something and then when Super Electric came over and fixed the fuse box they noticed that the circuit breakers that the Sears' contracted put in were not the correct ones. They were called about that and we have not heard back. So their customer service is not as great as we thought it was going to be. Well, you go over to Sears, a company that has been sitting around for years and will be there to do all these things but then when you call them you end up on this endless phone prompt and you leave a message that someone is supposed to call you back and they do not call back, so their service afterwards was not good.
Description of Work: We used Sears Parts & Repair Center to put in the whole heating system and air conditioning system for our house. We have put in a central air and we replaced our heater.

It turns out we probably ended up paying more. We ended up with nails all over the lawn. I think the shingles are properly installed, there is a warranty, but their lack of responsiveness did not sit too well. I was very dissatisfied with the service.

The two technicians were professional, friendly and helpful. They paid attention to two (pretty bad) coffee spills, but without much success. Once the carpets had dried, one of the spots covered a much larger area than the original spot. I had used the Sears service for three consecutive years, but each year I became somewhat more disappointed with the overall quality of the cleaning. I will not be calling on them again.
Description of Work: Carpet cleaning. Steam clean eight areas, including hall and walk-in closet. Apply enzyme treatment for a number of (minor) pet spots, plus carpet protectant.

SEARS was the most expensive quote i received, but i was bamboozled by the salesman. first of all, the salesman told me that sears did the work, but some other company came to do the work. basically, that company was certified by sears to perform the work. that was not explained to me...shame on me, i guess. the salesman only came to see the work once, and only becaue i had a complain about the a/c compressor. after that, he was unreachable. i had to deal with the third-party company who referred me to sears because, "that is between you and sears," sayd the third party workers. i had to communicate with a regional management person to settle some things. they left the area dirty and paint teared off the drywall where new vents were installed. they also left my door bell non-operational. it took over one month to get compensated for what it cost me to get that fixed by an electirician. the workers were late everyday (2 - 3 hours late). the last they, they were there till' 10 p.m. because they claimed they were almost done, but at 10 p.m. a worker tells me it's done but the fuse is not working and that they cannot come for two days. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

The first time they soaked the carpet so bad dirt from the pad wicked up to form rings and spots in the carpet. It took four days to dry thoroughly. The redo cleaned the spots partially but left the spots visible. The third time they applied a special cleaner to get rid of the spots and informed us that they would not be back, whether it was clean or not. Three visits was their limit. Fortunately the third visit seems to have cleaned up everything but this policy of 3 visits only was disturbing. They should come until they have done the job, no matter how many times. We looked on line at the problem and the info there was correct. Sears should have looked on line and they would have known how to fix it. Very amatuerish job.

Sears was very responsive and professional. They came out and gave us a quote. They started by giving us a power point preso on the benefits of using Sears. They tried to instill a lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) by not choosing to go with Sears. Then, they finally hit the next button on the preso with show a number that was 3-4x higher than other quotes that we got. As a stood there, stunned, not able to speak, he hit another button which lowered the price by $300 I decided to sign up that day. I did my best to not laugh or get mad (i really did) and thanked him for the quote. A few days later we got a call from Sears following up where they said that they had a situation where they had more installers than jobs (reaaly? I think i know why!) and that they could make me a better deal. I said 'great', what can you do?' He said, well, we need to send someone back out there to do measurements again. I said, no, we aren't going to have anymore measurements, just let me know what you can do. He wouldn't say, telling me they had to deliver that in person. I said, great, come down $8000 and we can consider you. He then realized this might not be going the way he had hoped and tried once more to instill some FUD by not going with Sears. Overall experience...FAIL!

They didn't clean all of the ducts and registers. They just turned on the heater before cleaning and it just blew out dirt and dust. They only put the hose up to one register. They took my vacuum from my garage and just started using it without my permission. They were not professional at all. They do the San Fran area and East Bay.

We have used Sears for the past several years for carpet and upholstery cleaning, even though they cost way more than other places. We have used Sears solely because we really liked one of their technicians, Todd Mustard, whom we met when we had a coupon for Sears several years back. Todd did a great job for us in removing some cat urine stains/smells from our carpet a couple of years ago. I recommend Todd unequivocally and would hire him again if/when he quits working for Sears. The current manager, or at least the guy you have to talk to on the phone to book services, is a complete jerk named Chad. For whatever reason, he was extremely resistant to honoring our request to have Todd come out and do our work. Last time Todd was here, he did his usual great job on the carpets and upholstery. I had asked him if he also did air duct cleaning, and he told me he did. He gave me a coupon for a discount on a future service. When I tried to book this service with Sears, this Chad guy was extremely po'ed that I was requesting Todd for another service. He seemed irate that Todd had offered us the discount, which makes no sense since we had been good customers for years. Chad literally lied to me and told me he would send Todd back out for the cleaning, and then tried to send somebody else, telling me Todd was mysteriously unavailable. When I told him we only wanted Todd, he threatened to charge us for services not performed. The grossly unprofessional actions of this Chad guy have cost Sears a customer for life. But, if you happen to find out Todd Mustard is working elsewhere, I do recommend him individually without hesitation; he does excellent work and is a very nice young man. So an A for Todd, and an F for Sears about sums up our experience.

The salesman was very nice and on time but……He stated that a certain level efficiency was the law (not true). When asked about saving money with other companies he stated that it was possible to save a couple of hundred dollars (not true).They gave me a price of approx. $9500.I called another company and they said between $4000 and $6000. I called another contractor and got a firm apples to apples bid against the sears bid. I had to put up with a huge struggle to cancel the sears bid. It took me darn close to my 72 hour cancellation clause.I will never ask Sears for another price on anything.
