They came and mishandled the delivery, they would not connect it and it involved a lot delivery. Sears finally made good on it but it took a lot of aggravations and a lot of calls. They were disrespectful to my son when he asked them to be cautious, they don’t drive the Seas truck any longer and it’s not the Sears service I was used to. The free delivery didn’t include connection and they didn’t advise us, that was the bad thing. They didn’t say the delivery people wouldn’t connect the devices which they should have done upfront so we could be prepare for it. In the end they made good on it. It took them along to get them out to settle. It took a lot of calls and threats before they finally sent a manager to help with the plugins. We had a conversation with the manager and he said he was aware of the problems and he was working on them.
Description of Work: I had a washer a dryer and delivery got into a lot of trouble with him, very bad.

Not well at all. I have filed a propert damage claim with Sears. They are standing by their opinion that the coil unit was cause of leak when there is no logical connection. Damage and repair is about $5K.
Description of Work: AC unit was leaking. Tech came out and asked where evaporation line terminated. I did not know, so then he proceeded to tear open coil unit. He said coil unit was freezing up and causing the leak. We replaced coil unit for $910. AC closet was closed and thought leak was stopped. Three months later flooring in hallway was buckling, door frames were swelling. Opened AC closet to find water pooring down from AC unit. Called Sears back out and they flushed evaporation line. It had been buried in dirt at side of house. Repair was unnecessary and caused extensive damage to the AC platform and laundry closet.

Entire Unit was replaced including all new ductwork and now our energy usage is now rated below similar energy efficient homes in our area. The estimators were prompt and explained the whole process. The installers were prompt courteous and quick. We were back up and running in only a few days with a complete brand new very energy efficient system

The installer was very professional and courteous. He did seem rushed. It was only after he left did we discover the washer was fairly dinged up. It didn't hinder the performance of the washer. But nothing like buying something brand new and have it all dinged. Bummer, he seemed really nice. I would hire again, but I would check the machine before I sign anything. Ah well live and learn!

They promised me at the beginning that it would be on a specific date and every time they would say they had it unavailable or there was a problem. So, I had to go in three different times until they brought it. The manager was a lady and she apologized that she was sorry that they screwed up. They messed the deadline which they promised me three times. They told me they didn't have it in stock or the guy came and said he needed help. They cleaned up but I had another lady who cleaned up after, so the cleaning they did was kind of sloppy. They never showed up on time.
Description of Work: I ordered new appliances from Sears Home Services. These were washers, dryer, dish washer and new refrigerator and new oven.

This experience was a disaster. Sears does not employ repair people. They contract this out. They cancelled our first appointment because they said that they needed to order a part for us (this was before their first visit). It was rescheduled for 8 days later. Repairman came with no part for us. He had to call for help and went off to purchase a part. He replaced the part and was planning to leave but we wanted to test the machine. Problem was not fixed. They had to order another part and would not schedule a repair appointment until we received the part. This had been going on for over 3 weeks and we couldn't use the machine. We cancelled the part and requested a refund for all but the service charge amount. It took many calls but we got a refund and bought a new machine--not from Sears! I will never use them again.

I just got off the phone about 10 minutes ago from Sears for which I have a protection agreement for five different kitchen products I have and they're getting into great trouble in trying to handle and replace the problematic washer/dryer that I have. So I'm not having success. Four times they came out and try to repair it and not until then will they replace it and there will be some conditions related to that also. I wont buy another Sears product.

I've had the worst customer service experience with Sears Home Improvement. I was sold on their Satisfaction Guarantee and promise to have the project done by Thanksgiving and they fell through tremendously. They assigned Project Manager, Beth Goodwin to be my one-to-one contact for everything but I could never get a hold of the woman. She was always on some supposed meeting or conference call at all hours every day and she would email me promising to update me by the end of the day but would never call nor email and would not offer a valid reason why the following day. From the beginning things went wrong when Sears couldn't get an answer from the cabinet supplier on a date of delivery for my cabinets. Although they were custom cabinets, they didn't come pre-assembled so it took the Sears installer so long to do the simplest things; also, the installer was very nice but has issues with being prompt...he would say he'd be there between 9AM and 10AM and would always arrive after 11AM because he would stop by the office first to "pick something up". I couldn't understand why he couldn't plan his time better or just wake up earlier, go to the office and come in so that he would have more time to work on my project to get it done on time. When the tech actually did demo, he told the PM to ask me to have the walls skinned to remove excess left-over thinset from the old back-splash so that the cabinet installation could be done right. She never called so when he was supposed to start the actual cabinet installation, he had to focus on assembly only due the lack of communication (once again the PM is not organized and inconsiderate). And, even though this work was unforeseen and Sears agreed to reimburse me, I submitted a copy of the labor receipt to them and they haven't responded with an estimated time frame and method for reimbursement. Not only were the cabinets delayed at first, but then Sears realized they mis-measured so they had to continuously re-order and re-order several cabinets and hinges, etc. which further delayed the completion of my project due to their broken ordering processes (goes from the local office to corporate to the vendor, etc). I didn't have a kitchen sink for almost 2 months and I have 2 little ones so not cooking and incurring so many restaurant meals have really taken a toll). In the middle of the project, the Sears tech informed me he would be done with the base cabinets on a certain day and that everything was leveled, so I went ahead and called the Home Depot countertop contractor out to measure so that I could get my counter back and sink back for cooking. Instead, the HD contractor found they weren't leveled and charged me a $250 penalty fee for the trip. Once again, it's been a long process (almost 4 months since I signed-up) and there's still things to re-order for my kitchen with an estimated completion for mid-February. The worst thing of all though has been the way the PM has treated me (from being unavailable, to unresponsive, to the lack of communication and the way she would promise to call several times during the week but wouldn't), in addition, her supervisor knew I was on the books as incomplete for 3 months and never took the initiative to reach out to me himself (like they do at the restaurants when you're dining...). It had to take me threatening to file a suit and filing a complaint on the BBB website to get the attention of the proper people in their headquarters to attempt resolving and compensating but I still haven't been told how they attempt to do that.
Description of Work: Sears Home Improvement was contracted back in the beginning of October to install all new high quality Thermofoil RTF/RTA cabinets in my small 10x10 kitchen. The job was supposed to be completed by Thanksgiving and is still not done at the end of January.

A representative came to my house at 4:25 pm (the appointment was for 3 pm). A lady called to inform me that he was running late and would be home at 3:20 pm; however, he didn't come until 4:25 pm. From the get-go, the Sears representative was very disinterested in all aspects of the project. He acted as though his coming to my house was a major inconvenience. He questioned me as to why I had called Sears when I could get the work done by the contractor who was going to move the kitchen wall. How unprofessional! I asked him to give me an estimate for the counter tops. He didn't. I asked him twice to show me samples of granite and quartz. He didn't do so. I am not sure why he came when he didn't seem to be interested in his job. Also, the lady at the Home and Garden show where we picked up a flyer for Sears Home Improvement said that the representative would show us the cabinets, counter tops etc. in a 3D rendering. This representative said that Sears doesn't do it any more. It looks like there is a disconnect in communication between Sears departments. I wouldn't recommend Sears Home Improvement unless this representative is an exception and there are others who are motivated and are willing to do their job.
Description of Work: I am remodeling my kitchen very soon and needed an estimate for the cabinets, counter tops, and flooring. The lady in the Sears Home Improvement booth at the Home and Garden show in San Jose (Fair grounds) said that a representative would come home, look at the project, offer suggestions, and give an estimate.

As long as they fix it, I don't pay attention to who it was. There's poor communication between Sears and the contractor. They didn't know they were supposed to take the old fridge. That was the problem but we worked it out.

The salesperson arrived ontime and did an excellent job of describing the functioning, options and approximate costs associated with different furnace and AC units. At the end of the constant stream of attempting to upsell unnecessary filtering systems, maintenance and an uneconomic AC system (he never asked about our energy consumption before making his recommendations), we configured a set of options that I believe met our requirements. However, the quote could not be printed or even itemized on his laptop. He said he would email it to me by the next day. It was never emailed. Somebody from the corporate office called early the next week to check on our decision and I told him that we never received the quote. He was going to look into it and call me be back, but I never received a return phone call. I consider this unprofessional. Adding to my negative opinion, the price that was quoted did not include sales tax but the sales tax would be waived if we signed right then. I told him I did not appreciate the hard sale -"take-it-or leave it" tactic. I think he was offended - or at least pretended to be offended. Bottom line, their price is far too high compared to independent contractors and the fact that they cannot provide a written estimate is simply unacceptable and unprofessional.

The installation was fine but his bid was higher than other bids I received so he said he'd match it but then he ended up charging me the original bid price. I had to call Sears several times to get the difference back since he said he would match the lower bid.
