Sears Appliance Repair

One of our 2 cats had taken up urine marking inside the house. I called Sears because I wanted to make sure the house got a professional thorough cleaning & protection applied to all carpeting. I settled on Sears because we don't have any other big name cleaners locally. Also, because their web site states, "We move most furniture," which is something I consider necessary for thorough cleaning. They arrived on time. We walked through the rooms to identify all the prominent spots but I specified that there are urine markings all over the house. I asked about moving furniture & they told me they don't move anything heavy, which is acceptable. But I figured if there are stands, small tables & other pieces that are light enough for me to move, the 2 men would surely move them. Well, the only thing they moved was chairs. Ordinarily my husband & I move most of the stuff out of the way but didn't this time because of Sears' claim on their web site. Cleaning went a lot quicker than it does normally. When I had protection applied before, it was done with a broom & obvious hard work. Sears didn't do it that way; they sprayed the protection on. I figured they must know what they're doing. A few days later, I noticed urine markings & missed spots here & there, spots that were too dirty to miss. I also found markings when I moved the rocking chair. The chair had been red originally, then painted white. Apparently, the bottoms of the rocker are still red & that's why there were 2 orange lines on our very light carpet. I called sears for a redo & set up an appointment for a week or so later because we had company from out of town. I've never had to call a carpet cleaner back before. Meanwhile, a couple drops of washout hair dye had dropped on the carpet so when Sears came out again, I asked them to see if they could get it out. It turned out they could get the paint out but not the "washout" hair dye. I thought that was odd, as I've had permanent hair dye removed from the same carpet before. At this point I also had my doubts about the quality of the protection they sprayed on. Once again, the work was completed & the cleaners left. A few days later I found a whole new dirt spot under the rug in front of the back door. So either they missed that one as well because they didn't move the rug or the protection they applied was definitely not worth the $240 they charged. I called Sears again with my complaint & my doubts about the quality of the protection. Their response was that I don't vacuum enough & that's why there was soiling in front of the door. Ha? I then mentioned that nothing but chairs had been moved. I was told that they don't move heavy furniture. When I clarified that we were talking area rugs & stands that I can move myself, they offered to come out & do what should've been done the first time. By then I was so fed up with their service that I declined. Never again!

1) Promised delivery on Tuesday. Internet site said if an order is placed by noon, delivery same day. No delivery on Tuesday. Nor Wednesday. Thursday finally, but late, due allegedly to a flat tire. 2) Bait and Switch. Wanted the basic 50 gal. water heater. After website would not process order, I used SEARS phoneline. Rep. said the basic (6 yr) 50 w/h was not allowed in California, had to upgrade to the next one (9 yrs). Additional $180. OK. He came back on the phone and then said, SEARS did not have that model in stock in my area, but did have the highest (12 yr) model that could be delivered TODAY. Another $50. HOWEVER, installer (who finally came on Thursday) told me that he installs the basic (6 yr) all the time. BAIT AND SWITCH 3) No running water at the house from Monday until Thursday afternoon, after being assured of same day delivery and installation. Want to cancel? Sears charges a 15% restocking fee. 4) THREE DAYS WAITING FOR SEARS! Very poor communication. All communication driven by customer. Do not believe what they tell you on the phone.

I give it a positive rating overall. They have a wide selection of different brands. The delivery was free I believe. I like big retail shop because they are possible when it comes to return.

They repaired it and called me when it was ready. I was upset because I had to take it way out of my way to get it fixed. The repairs were good.

It would have been a dream come true but during the job while either taking out an appliance or bringing in a new one they damaged our one and half year old laminate floor and though we have tried and tried to get this repaired no one comes to repair it. I did not get the appliances I choose, they choose Sears brand names instead, The induction range I got is the one I wanted, it was a Sears brand, and it got the best write ups of all induction ranges. The refrigerator was not the one I wanted, I wanted a bottom freezer, two doors on top and a drawer in the middle for the things you take out and put in the most; I got a bottom freezer and two top doors but no drawer in the middle. I found it odd that I did not get the appliances I wanted because I spent, quite literally, days finding the appliances with the best ratings and finding the equal on the Sears list and submitted my order with the Model number of the appliance and the Sears item number. Yet I got the wrong refrigerator and the wrong dishwasher. I used a dishwasher at my son's that really did an excellent job of cleaning; without washing them first and hardly any scrapping, it was a Whirlpool. The dishwasher I had before they began work was a Sears dishwasher that was only 3 years old and I had to wash my dishes before I put them in or they would come out with food baked on them. I wanted a Whirlpool Quiet series, gave them the model number and the Sears item number but kept getting pushed into the Sears brand. Note worthy: Just after we signed the papers to do this job we had a major illness in the family and I was awaiting surgery myself so I was not at my best. I can't totally blame Sears, they promised the dishwasher would perform just as good, that it would be quieter and it had a stainless steel tub; I just could not argue any more. We were experiencing a Father in and out of the hospital getting worse with each fall. We were likely going to have to move him out of his apartment. Moving everything out of our kitchen was a chore all by itself, but going back and forth to the hospital, looking up item numbers daily I just could not do anymore. I took the man's word for it that the dishwasher would be better than my choice. Once in and able to give it a try the dishwasher did not work as promised. After the cycle finished I opened the door to find the packet of soap recommended by the manufacturer was sitting on the bottom of the dishwasher not dissolved and the dishes not clean. I called and asked again and again to get the dishwasher I asked for, but did not. They sent out a repair man and he stated that the soap release timing was off and he fixed it. Since his visit there is no undissolved soap but not sure about how clean the dishes are getting. I am used to washing or soaking my dishes first, a habit hard to break, plus once the dishwasher is full we really need the dishes by then and I'm afraid to truly test it. It has been 5 months and the damage to my floor has not been repaired, no one answers our calls or emails any more. We are afraid to with hold the last payment, or have it repaired and send them the bill. Very unhappy about the treatment we get the office. It took forever to get permits checked; they did put panels left bare for the permit to be cleared and it just open. As far am I am concerned they did finish the job at all, details count too. Very disappointed in all "after" service.

I am satisfied with the roofing. They were here at the agreed upon time. From the time the contract was signed, they were here the following week. In one day they had completed the surfacing of my roof. They were done with the roof on the first day. They repaired everything in one day. The inspector came out and looked at it. They were done with the gutters the following day. It was a 2 day job. I am very happy with it.

We did move alot of the furniture so it was easy for them to get started right away. We were able to stay off the carpet for almost two days in most areas. I think that helped.

We are very impressed by the workmanship Sears did remodeling our kitchen. They put in a new sink, countertop, stove, back splash and tile. They were easy to work with and very competent. They showed up when they were supposed to and did a very clean job. It took about one week for them to complete the job. They were right on top of the job and followed it through.

First, I found a repair person, from Angies's List, but his price for the part was really high. He didn't call me back, and wasn't able to get the part I needed. I ended up using Sears because they provided the best price, and cheapest parts. The price included him coming out, making the repair up to $500, and a 12 month maintenance contract. I was totally happy with Sears and their service. I will definitely use their services again.

The gentleman that came to do it was very very nice. They were very efficient, prompt, and on time. They did a very good job. We always use them also. I called them on Wednesday and they came the next day, which was pretty good.

They tried fixing the old refrigerator and when they could not they decided to use the price of the old one to get me a new one. Basically I got the new one for free. They service was sucky initially but they realized they did a bad thing and made up for it. They took a lot of fighting to do what had to be done.

The person who came was a delight to talk to. She repaired my refrigerator and cleaned it all out. She was fast and on time. She did a fantastic job. I did not compare prices but I felt the pricing was fair and I had a 90-day warranty. I have not had any problems.

They were johnny on the spot. I am pleased with the installation. They were a little high but I feel that I got my moneys worth. The quality of work was wonderful. They did a great job.

I was frustrated with them. They did a good job cleaning but the people that came in were nosing through my house. They kept asking if they could have some of this and some of that. They went through the medicines and asked me if they could take some of the medicines. They kept on adding things. There was a $99 special, a $199 specials and it came up to $600. They just did things and kept adding the cost. By the time they were done, I had to pay them three times the amount that I was supposed to pay. The carpet was cleaned well but the whole interaction was horrible. I was stunned at the $600 bill and when I asked them about, they told me that they added this and added that, sprayed something and cleaned something extra. It was just crazy. The first came and did an assessment, then they started spraying different chemicals on the carpet which I thought came with the service the way they made it sound initially. They did all the professional cleaning but I didn’t ask them for the extras. They had the equipments to clean the carpets properly. They made it sound it like it was included in the service but they charged me for it at the end. They kept asking me things they could use from my house up to the point where I just wanted to throw them out. They were not professional. It didn’t make me feel comfortable with them being in the house. When they went upstairs they were going through things, I felt like they were sneaking. The pricing was horrible. They were late; they came in at the end of the recommended time window. They said that they would be here between 3 pm and 4 pm and then they show up at 3.59 pm.

When my wife started the heating cycle, she got some allergy in her nose. She called Sears, who cleaned the duct system and vacuum everything in the house. They were very good and had very good equipment. They did a good job. I don't know the price, as my wife was handling it. They came with real heavy equipment. They had fairly big vacuum cleaners in their pick up truck which had a lot of suction. They cleaned really well. They were on time; they were young kids but did a really good job.

The construction manager never returned any phone calls and rarely returns emails not a very good experience.

They are a very affordable company. They did a great job on taking the spots out. I liked everything about Sears Carpet and Upholstery Care. They were fine on every count and every category.

The price is expensive but the quality is good.

They did a terrific job, and were the only ones that were able to do it. They have up to date equipment. The people that have came before just tried to use snakes to clean my vents. I am assured that they did a good job, and I would use them again.

They were really nice. They gave a good deal. I was in a time crunch and they did the work in an hour. A lady had come to them for a second opinion. They had good reputation. They explain everything to you. They were excellent overall. Their price was good. I would use them in the future.

The guy was really thorough. They put the furniture on blocks. What they couldn’t get out they informed me of spots that were permanent stains. They were thorough and reasonable. They were very nice people, welcoming, and informative.

They team they sent was excellent. They did a great job, and I am very pleased.

The guy offered free suggestions. He also provided quotes for a couple of different projects. He showed me samples for countertops and cabinets. The quote process went very well. However, I did not think it would be so expensive to get the work done. Also, the range of projects that he showed me was very limited in terms of colors and textures. However, I liked the fact that they had a policy of coming out and discussing the ideas I had. It took them an hour and a half for doing the evaluation. I will consider using them in the future.

Everything was great. They were really helpful and professional. They were also very efficient and the sales person even came back at a later date and helped me fill out all the rebate forms.
