Robert's Plumbing & Rooter

I'm the property manager for a 12-unit apartment building. After a quick survey of the units, I found issues in six of them. Looking for a new plumber, I called three different plumbing companies for free site visits/estimates. Robert's Plumbing was the easiest to contact, extremely pleasant on the phone and in person, and gave a quote that was less than half of what the other vendors were asking. With Robert's Plumbing, you really get the sense that they are trying to save you money. Whereas some plumbers might aggressively replace parts that have some life left in them, Robert's tends to 'go easy.' They also give a discounted hourly rate for property managers. The only reason I'm giving them a 'B' for Quality: a couple of the repairs needed a return visit the next day. One of the leaky faucets had starting leaking again (despite replacing the washers), so we replaced the whole faucet fixture. In a perfect world, the plumber would have recommended that in the first place (instead initially replacing the washers for ~$100). Even still, I was happy with the work and intend to continue working with them.

It was okay. I called them and they sent someone out. They were able to identify the problem and they fixed the part that was leaking. I didn't price it out.

Most of the plumbing for the house is in steel and I told them that I would call them back when I plan to change the plumbing for the whole house. The plumber came out within half an hour and did the work on the same day and billed me for it. He handed me a bill and I asked him as to why he didn?t bill me, but he never billed me. So I called them to ask if they didn?t want to get paid and they asked me to just send them a cheque. They are prompt in their service and they don?t bug you if you don?t get paid. They came on time to do the job. It was a hard job and wasn?t easy. They were recommended by my neighbor. I in fact, picked them up from the phone book. I usually get nonsense when I call plumbers, but these guys are not like that. He is pretty straightforward since he just comes in, looks at the work and says how much it would cost which I think among contractors is very rare to see these days. The price that they charged wasn?t the cheapest, but wasn?t expensive too. The plumber spent about two to three hours and $200 an hour was okay. So I can understand three hours of work being $600. He gave me a quote between $7000 and $9000 to do the plumbing for the whole house in copper. I did get bids which ranged from $8000 to $14000. You would obviously go with someone who has already done work for you instead of choosing somebody who has never done work for you. He came on a weekday and he came out when I asked him to come out. He came out within 45 minutes to an hour. It?s so difficult to even try and get a response from some plumbers. He went and got the stuff required for the job in his truck and paid for it out of his own pocket. He then came back and did the work and didn?t feel bad for spending $400 just for the pipe and the other stuff. The price that he charged was for both parts and materials. He never said that he would come back the next day with the parts. He came, looked, committed, did the job and left. The plumber is kind of overweight and smokes. I would call him before anybody else for plumbing. My experience with him has been pretty good.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HONEST PEOPLE. THEY WERE VERY NICE PEOPLE, AND EASY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. THEY CLEANED UP ALL THE MESS THEY MADE, AND I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICES.

THEY ARE A VERY SMALL COMPANY THAT CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY DO A VERY GOOD JOB AND THEY DIDN'T TEAR UP MY YARD AT ALL. THEY CLEANED AND FIXED ANY MESS OR PROBLEM THEY MADE. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY'S SERVICES.
