I chose a quartz countertop pattern for two bathroom vanities. After I had chosen it I got a call back that it was no longer manufactured by Cambria, then, later, I was told that the fabricator had a 'remnant' of the chosen stone piece. I paid the 50% deposit by credit card and made it clear I would be paying the balance, after they were installed and I was satisfied, by check since I was close to my limit on my credit card given there was so much additional work going on at my home. I said I wanted a bullnose edge and verified with the salesperson (Gabriela) what I wanted. She wrote 'ogee bullnose on the contract'. I didn't know what that was but, since I described what I wanted to her in detail that I wanted a smooth rounded edge with no lines or indentations, I thought it was just an industry descriptor for what I had described to her. When I got the template drawings after the fabricator came and measured, it was clear it was not the edge I described. She said that is what I said I wanted. This was completely untrue...I have never had a problem communicating whatever it is that I need. Finally, everything got straightened out, but it required that I call the fabricator (Stone Etc.) directly, since Gabriela was such a poor communicator and I did not want to get stuck with a problem due to her communication issues. Additionally, Gabriela did not tell me that the tear-out would happen on the same day as the measurement. I found that out by speaking directly to the fabricator; luckily, or I would not have prepared properly for them to do the tear out. The tops were placed weeks later despite the fact that the contract specifies that the installation would occur within 10 days of the fabrication measurements. The second top was improperly fabricated and the existing plywood was not trimmed. This resulted in two inches of exposed under-side and jagged, old plywood easily visible from the level of the commode in the same room. The bullnose was supposed to come around to meaet the cabinet for a finished look, not look like something that was transferred from somewhere else that I installed myself. I sent pictures in that I was told were forwarded to Stone Etc.. The same day, Gabriela pressured me regarding payment of the second 50% of the price. I said I would do so as soon as things were re-done properly. She sent me an email saying that my account was 'past due'. I have always paid my bills, but only an idiot would pay in full for something before it was finished. She said 'well it was installed'....and around and around. What incentive would there be to finish the job properly after they have ALL their money? This place (Quality Kitchen Cabinets/Countertops) exhibited unbelievably poor communication with me as the client and with their own fabricator (who, thank God stepped up to remedy the problem). I would strongly suggest that others take their business elsewhere. Our next big project is to replace all our kitchen countertops. Needless to say, we will never be doing business again with these people.
