Internet connection with PeoplePC was always very slow which is to be expected with dial-up. I was thrilled when a fiber optic internet connection became available in my neighborhood. So I tried to cancel PeoplePC but they wouldn't cancel my service. When I first called in April 2008 they offered two months free. Why would I want their service when I was paying for another high price, fast internet connection? A few months later the PeoplePC charges started showing up on my credit card statement again. I called again to cancel in October 2008 and said PLEASE stop. My charges disappeared but then popped up AGAIN two months later. They deceived me by giving me two "free months" and then resuming charges. I finally called my credit card company to help me and the credit card rep stayed on the phone with me until PeoplePC gave me a cancellation number. I tried to get them to refund some of my charges from April 2008 to February 2009 but they refused saying I agreed to two free months. I don't know if they misinterpreted my statements about the "free" months or what (it sounds like I was talking to a call center outside the United States hence a language barrier) but all I ever wanted to do was cancel their service.
