+ -1 moreThey picked up the rug from me and were to call to confirm the details the next day. I didn't hear for a few days, so I called and they confirmed it was silk and that they would hand wash by a special process. But they had not examined the damage and didn't know the price for hand washing, and so said they would call back. Several days passed, so I called and received another incomplete response. This went on for 6 weeks, when suddenly I was told it was done. I had no idea of what was "done" or the price, and got more odd answers. Then ensued several missed appointments to deliver the rug to me, a few lost rug stories (it was at their "cousin's workshop", at their "factory in Brisbane" etc). Finally I went to the San Fran store, and found the rug there damp and ruined - the dye had all run (plus no repairs performed or sleeve installed). The workers feigned ignorance of everything (what repairs? What sleeve? That is absolutely not silk!) and made me pay to get the rug back anyway.
Description of Work: An area rug that I had purchased in Morocco needed to be cleaned. When I bought it, I was told that the rug was silk, but I was not sure if that was true or not. Papillon was to confirm whether the rug was silk, and then recommend an appropriate cleaning method (i.e. dry clean or hand wash etc), and confirm the cost. One edge of the rug was also unraveling a bit, and Papillon was going to examine it, estimate the cost of repairing it, and then repair it for me if I gave the go ahead. Finally, I also requested that they attach a sleeve to the back of the rug so that it could be hung on the wall. The whole process was supposed to take only two or three weeks.
