We wanted to replace the kitchen tile floor in our 1918 home with a hardwood floor. We hoped to match the original hardwood floors in the adjacent dining room. The representative from Pacific Flooring (Dimitri) was on time and provided us a reasonable description of the work involved, the possible problems he might encounter, and a probable time schedule. He was very professional. The installer did a very nice job of putting in the new hardwood floor, showing real attention to detail. He did a particularly nice job of working around the molding, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. We were very pleased. (We subsequently received several compliments from friends and relatives with expertise in construction on the high quality of the installation.) Subsequently the polyurethane finish was placed. Upon placing the 2nd coat, there were a large number of 'bubbles' that were readily visible over the entrance to the kitchen - likely as a result of air movement that occurred during drying. During the inspection, Dimitri agreed to have the finish re-sanded and coated. The 3rd coat was indeed much better, however it didn't appear that they 'taped' where the kitchen met the dining room, giving an amateurish appearance to the seam between these two rooms. (This has faded as the finish has cured.) In addition a spot was missed in one area of the kitchen during the final coat application. We also think that the final coat was a gloss (rather than a semi-gloss), however Dimitri assured us that this was not the case. Dimitri offered to address the imperfections, however we declined - feeling the project had already gone on too long. Overall, we were extremely impressed and happy with the quality of the floor installation but somewhat disappointed overall in the quality of the finishing. It should be noted that the installers were on time and extremely tidy and neat. Seldom do projects go perfectly, as exemplified here, but the company tried to work with us to address our concerns. I therefore would be comfortable in recommending them to others.

They are very good contractors. They are excellent people, and their prices are very reasonable. They are customer oriented - when you talk to them, you will see they are good people. The work was to be done in a month, and they finished in a month and 3 days, and other than that, they were punctual. I have recommended them to a few of my friends who are using them now.
Description of Work: They installed new hardwood floors, including kitchen, bathroom and everything. I had a huge remodeling project done.
