Mitch was hired to install 6 windows and replace molding on 1 wall in living room. Revised estimate was 4.5 days to complete all work. Mitch stated that the labor component was "firm" and that I shouldn't work about that. After 5.5 days, Mitch had only completed 3 windows (partially). I told Mitch that I was not completely satisfied with the work, that it was taking too long, he was losing time/money, and that we should part way. For completing 1/2 the job, I offered to pay him 60% of the "firm" price. Mitch got upset and thought he was entitled to nearly 100% of the $1200 despite the 50% uncompleted work. He picked up his supplies without fully finishing the 3 windows. The internal "reveal" was not completed and I'll need to hire a professional to actually finish the interior work. For example, Mitch left a gap between the bottom frame and sill which will need to be filled with wood or wood filler and sanded. Molding will need to be installed. Interior caulk and paint will need to be completed. Windows do seem solid but are not at the same level as the other he installed and they are not 100% level. Learn from my mistake. Do not hire this person. He is unprofessional, does not have his own car which means that you'll end up spending more money on delivery. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

I asked that no anchor points - holes - be put into the hardwood floor and this request was disregarded. In all other respects the job was coming along well and the build is exceptionally sturdy. I last heard from the provider on the night of 10/13/13 that he'd be in the following morning, Monday, at 11:30, after picking up the remaining building supplies (closet doors, rods, and trim) and that's all I've heard from him. I'd be glad to know what happened to him and if he were to arrive and finish the job I'd be more than willing to reassess his work, but simply disappearing is clearly unacceptable.
Description of Work: Provider was to build a bedroom closet but disappeared with the project only half completed.
