Matt Prestage

Description of Work: I was interested in remodeling the first floor laundry room in our home and happened to stop in at the Lowe's store on East Broad Street near Bexley...just to take a look at the cabinets they offered and to compare prices with an estimate I already had from a small, privately owned, local store - the same store I had previously used when remodeling my kitchen. At Lowe's, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of one of the lines of cabinets they carried - manufactured by Schuler. The salesperson who assisted me, Matt Prestage, was extremely helpful, patient and knowledgeable about the product. It was a delightful experience to work with him. I had brought a scale drawing of the existing laundry room with me, so we sat right down and started redesigning the room on Matt's computer. We played around with a number of different configurations and - through it all - Matt was kind, thoughtful, helpful and - most of all - very patient working through all of my changes and variations. When we reached a design that I loved, Matt was able to immediately print out the total cost of the materials...and to explain all the special offers, too. Including those offers, the price was a lot less than the estimate I already had and - since this was just a laundry room - I decided to give Matt and Lowe's a chance. I had never imagined ever purchasing anything this complicated, exacting or costing this much from Lowe's and had always used architects and general contractors in the past. So I was especially nervous when the cabinets arrived and there were a couple that had damage...fearing that there would be no "Service After the Sale". But Matt Presage proved me wrong. He took care of every single issue - even bringing the Schuler Cabinet rep. to our home to inspect the problems and to expedite the reorder. My laundry room project is nearing completion and looking lovely - exactly as Matt and I had designed it! And, I can honestly say that during the entire process, working with Matt has been one of the best parts! He's one very rare individual who knows his stuff and someone who truly cares about each and every aspect of a project, including the people he's working with.
