Matt Bailey Construction Co, INC.

Would strongly support consideration of Matt Bailey. We would have used Matt Bailey as our kitchen+ contractor except he could not start as early as alternatives. But, his walk-through alone was valuable. He was thoughtful and able to provide ideas and recommendations on handling problems of 1) working in San Francisco, 2) dealing with 109 year building infrastructure and 3) accommodating multiple uses of a small space. Also, our architect had worked with Matt before - and also had positive things to say. We checked references and found that all were positive to very positive. His estimate was not the lowest - but, in our opinion, would have been worth every penny.

We did not go with Matt but the bidding process was fine. He was the last person that we got to bid. By the time that we got a bid from him, we were already starting to work with somebody that we have already worked with before whom we had not been able to get in touch with and then suddenly, he materialized and we just felt like we really wanted to get the work done their way. Matt's quote was actually quite similar with the quote of the person that we went with. We wanted to get a lot of different things done at that time. It was a good experience. His responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were good. If the person that we used did not reappear, we would have thought of using his services. He was really disappointed. The only issue with him was that he did not seem to be keen about getting permits and we felt nervous about not getting them. We also felt like the person we went with was more willing to work with the permit situation.

He was punctual, cordial, good suggestions, knew what we was doing. He gave a good estimate which I thought was incredibly reasonable comparatively toward other companies I had gone to. He gave me great suggestions and still am thinking over some of the ones he had given me before I proceed. I had told him that I was not ready to do the project at this time. He did actually follow up with me about a month later. I appreciated it. I am thinking about using him for other general contracting.
