Master Plumbing

I've used this company twice in the past and had excellent service. However something has changed with this company, and they have now lost my business. To start, I called to schedule an appointment, and was told I'd have to wait 4 days for the next available, which I agreed to, along with the time window of 2-6pm (they only give 4 hour time windows). On the day of the appointment, I received a call around 4pm that the plumber would be arriving late, and that overtime charges would be applicable because it would be after 5pm. The woman who scheduled my original appointment failed to state that overtime charges start at 5pm, even though my appointment window was between 2-6pm. So after stating to the woman on the phone that their customer service was poor for not clearly stating their overtime charge policy upon scheduling appointments, I rescheduled for the following day. When the plumber arrived, he looked at the set up of my washing machine, looked under my house, and told me he sees this problem 2-3 times per week with the new washing machines. Then he disappeared to the truck to write an estimate. A good 20 minutes later, he presented me with a bill for $116 for the service call, and an over-inflated estimate for the work to be done, which included replacing 10 feet of outtake pipe from my washing machine into the main outtake line under my house. He asked me if my water was slow to drain from my kitchen sink or tub, and was surprised when I said no, but shrugged his shoulders and waited for his check. So I paid him, and decided I would get more quotes and do more research, as it seamed odd to me that my old washing machine, purchased 8 years ago was working just fine with the existing plumbing, but the new machine wasn't. Upon researching the specifications required for installing the new washing machine, installation requires 1.5 inch pipes, which is what I have, not 2 inch pipes as recommended by Master Plumbing. When I asked a plumber at Home Depot, in efforts to further troubleshoot the problem, he asked if the plumber had cleaned out the outtake line, and was very surprised to find out the plumber didn't even try that as an option. Home Depot had also not heard of people having problems with the new washing machines because they are all High Efficiency (HE) and therefore use less water. I has also contacted Sears, which was the seller of my 8 year old Kenmore set, and they also had never heard of this being a problem with the new machines. So I basically wasted $116 on Master Plumbing, and no longer trust them! And their estimates are grossly inflated.

They are a good plumbing company and I highly recommend them. They gave a 10 percent senior discount. They repaired everything satisfactorily, and their price is cheaper than most. The only problem was that one guy used my toilet and he sprayed all over. They shouldn't be allowed to use people's private bathrooms.

They're great. I've been using them for years. It doesn't matter when I call him, he comes and fixes it. Every time he ever needs a part for anything, he has it in his truck. His prices are fair.

He is very informative and he spends a lot of time talking to individuals and keeping them informed as to what is going on. I can see why he would run a little late at times, hence the punctuality grade. He came out and fixed hot water heater during an emergency situation and he stopped what he was doing (at the mall with family) to come over to fix and only charged me 75.00. He does a great job and pays attention to detail. I have used him for 12 years and will continue to do so.

I, and many of my friends, have used Meir's services for the last 15 years, or more. He doesn't need to advertise or use gimmicks; word of mouth from many satisfied customers keeps him busy. I forgot to call Meir before we purchased our home recently, and of course there are many problems with the plumbing that the usual inspectors didn't seem to notice, and the seller's didn't disclose. I highly recommend that you call Meir to inspect plumbing before you purchase a home. It will save you a lot of headaches. He's done major work for me and my friends, including connections with main sewer lines under foundations. His prices are very fair, especially since you can be sure that the job has been done right and will not come back to haunt you, ever. (Tip: For best service, offer him a cup of coffee or tea.)

THIS GUY IS GREAT. HE LIKES TO TELL STORIES AND HE LIKES TO FIGURE THINGS OUT FOR HIMSELF. HE IS A GREAT PROBLEM SOLVER. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE WITH HIM IS THAT HE DOES NOT CHARGE ENOUGH. HE ALSO LIKES TO WORK ALONE.
