Marlon's Hardwood Floors

We had previously used another floor contractor to do our floors, but that contractor did a really poor job with the stain job (the color of our floors turned out too light/blotchy/uneven in every room!). We were so upset because we had already paid that contractor to do the work and were in such a time crunch since we were due to move in shortly thereafter. Given out tight timing, I was about to give up and just live with our poor stain job. However, everyone I knew told me I really needed to get it right before moving in. So I searched online for reviews of contractors and came across Marlon. I called him up, and he was able to come by and give me a quote right away! And despite that the was booked for many weeks out, he was wiling to work on my job on a Sunday just to squeeze me in. He never normally works on Sunday since he already works so hard Monday-Saturday. I was 37 weeks pregnant at the time, and he wanted to try really hard to complete my job asap for me. Not only did his quote come in much lower than our first contractor, but he also did a 10x better job!! While the first contractor blamed the stain color variation on our floors, Marlon was quick to see that it was the contractor who made a mistake, not our floor's fault. Within 5 days or so, the entire job was done, and we were so happy to see the results. Marlon was able to get the perfect color we wanted for our floors, and they came out so beautifully (color was entirely even unlike the other contractor). He uses all high quality materials such as Duraseal stain and Bona Finish. At the end of the job, he even gave us a new bottle of wood cleaner and instructions on how to maintain our floors. What really stood out to me about Marlon is is honesty, hard work, kindness, and great skills. Every day during the course of the work, he would text me pictures of the floors so I could see how the floors were coming along. He also left the place in great shape/cleaned up after himself with little or no dust that I could recall. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants beautiful hardwood floors!

We bought a new house and wanted to make sure the floors were in perfect shape before we started putting furniture on it. Marlon was extremely prompt (often arriving before we did). We only solicited two bids, but had read amazing reviews about Marlon on Yelp and decided to take the leap with him even before getting another bid. He is a kind soul and expressed gratefulness that we considered him for the job, when in reality, we were the ones who should be thankful that he squeezed us into his busy schedule. The floors turned out beautifully. In addition, he was very communicative and enthusiastic. After the first day of sanding, he called to tell us to "come over and check out my work!" He left notes to make sure we were comfortable before proceeding to the next step. After he finished the work the next day, he sent us text photos, left a note on the counter, and called.Through and through, Marlon is an incredible professional. We will definitely be using him in the future.
