Adam came to my house. Looked at my water heater and told me it is too old, and not worth draining. Also I don't have drain in my basement where the heater is located. He informed me that I will get the refund since he did not perform the service. He was going to send me a detail quote for a new heater, but I have not received the quote yet.

This company couldn't have been more responsive, professional and courteous. Although my job wasn't an emergency, Pedro arranged for Mike to come that same day, who made a quick 40 mile round-trip visit between appointments to take care of our situation. I will use Magic Plumbing for any future needs and recommend them highly. Thank you, Angie's List, for helping me find this gem of a plumbing service!

The plumber was great - very personable and good at explaining what he was finding. Wrote up a detailed estimate, which I used to check with our regular plumbers, ultimately choosing to have them do the work (@ $250 less than the quote).

They clearly go above and beyond. This was for an eval and estimate,I put a project to replace a water heater on an online home builders' site an hour ago. I IMMEDIATELY received a call back from Magic Plumbing (I'm talking less than a minute). The respondent advised they had a plumber, Mike, in the area and could send him out for a free estimate. Mike (read the reviews on Magic Plumbing--v. good guy) arrived within 15 minutes, examined the project, was fair and honest in his eval. I don't immediately need to replace the water heater, but it is 21 yrs. old. So, I will definitely consider this company for the replacement after I do more research on water heaters. An aside - I told Mike I had read great things about him on Angie's List. His response? He doesn't personally check things like that. He just does his job the best he can. What a jewel. no issues, showed up performed the work the only issue was the repair of the sidewalk, started to crumble a bit at the edges.

We had a great experience with Magic Plumbing! We just bought an old house which needed a laundry list of plumbing repairs (as outlined above). All communication was done by email and Pablo was very quick to respond each time. When I described our issues he said that he would like to send someone over to do a free estimate. We set up a window of 8-9am two days later and Adam arrived right at 8:30. He spent 20 minutes with us going over everything that needed to be done and addressing our concerns, and we were sent an estimate 2 hours later. The pricing was reasonable so we decided to go ahead with the repairs and set up a time for the following week. Adam showed up with another guy and they were able to finish all of the repairs in about 6 hours. They were very professional and did great work, very neat and tidy. The invoice was sent over once they were finished and the bill was exactly as quoted. We were also able to purchase the $200 deal which we applied to the final invoice. Overall we were very happy with their service. I really hope we don't need a plumber again anytime soon, but in the event that we do I will definitely use these guys again!

Great! I purchased this deal on a Friday when I discovered the clog, not really in a rush as we had just moved in and weren't really using the kitchen yet. By Sunday unfortunately things had taken a turn for the worse with a leak. When I chatted with Pablo, we had originally scheduled the unclogging for Wednesday, but after finding out about the leak he was able to push me up to Monday. I was super happy!

The quote to have both sink & bathtub unclogged was around $350 and to install the faucet was $368. I felt that it was way too expensive, but since I had purchased the the big deal certificate we went ahead with the getting the the sink & bathtub unclogged. He cleaned out both drains and it's working fine. We asked my brother-in-law (not a plumber) to installed the faucet for us & it took about an hour.

I am glad that hey seemed to find the issue quickly. He was very professional.

The service was good. I thought the price was very high. They got the job done in just 20-25 minutes. The plumber arrived on time. The plumber was fine, but I just felt that I was overcharged.

It went well! I had them remove a radiator. However, the plumber was unable or unwilling to shorten and rethread one of the lines, so that left us with a pipe sticking 6 inches out of the wall. I also asked them for a quote for an icemaker line, but it was way out my price range.

Overall, it wasn’t a great deal. When they got here, they didn’t see the point in snaking a camera through all the plumbing that I wanted. I ultimately used a competitor to finish the job, and they were actually cheaper.

After a fairly unpleasant interaction with the telephone answering service, the dispatcher was very helpful and Mike arrived sooner than actually predicted (under half an hour). He got right to work, and solved our leak by replacing the whole faucet, which he estimated to be about 60 years old. The payment we made included the 15% Angie's List member coupon deduction. We were very satisfied--and expect that the work (performed this morning, a Saturday) will stand up over the long term.

It went really well with them and I was pleased with the deal.

We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and our new kitchen sink keep returning water. I called Magic Plumbing and there were at my home within 30 minutes. Mike snaked our drain and removed the clogged caused by hair over the years. I would call them again for my plumbing needs.

It turned out fine. They were good. They work is good.

Work was done by three plumbers in two separate visits. Plumbers were 1) on-time in 1-hr window; 2) professional & friendly; 3) explained what needed to be done, and 4) seemed fair in estimates. $900: First visit was for an high priority water heater repair for a broken thermocouple, and the plumber came with ~4 hours notice, and advised that since the water heater was relatively new, it should still be under warranty. (It was; and was fixed the next day for free). However, he also gave estimate for multiple things needed in laundry room, and did the work the next morning, cleaning up afterwards, and sealing all new penetrations to the exterior wall, leaving only sanding & painting for me. $1000: Second visit was for a variety of interior repairs & the well pump. The interior work was completed quickly and at a reasonable - though slightly higher than that estimated over the phone - price. However, in assessing the work items I had enumerated, he talked me out of two of them, which I appreciated, and gave me confidence that the pricing was fair. $1600: The well pump was a challenging project, for which he sought the expertise of a colleague, Jeremy; they quickly assessed the job and gave me two quotes depending on whether the existing pump could be repaired, or needed to be replaced. When it needed to be replaced, he purchased a quality pump and installed it (with a new float switch). When I realized a week later that the float switch was set too low (pumping out ground water), Jeremy came back out, was very friendly in making an adjustment without an extra charge even though that required lifting the pump out again, and offered to come out again if needed if the switch was still set below the water table. Though it's important that the workmanship & materials are quality - and I believe that they are - I especially appreciated the honesty, timeliness, and respect of the three plumbers I worked with. They were pretty good but not great. They did not install the faucets we wanted but chose another type without asking us first.

I was glad to see from previous customer reviews that Magic Plumbing provides services on the coast side of San Mateo county. They were friendly on the phone and quickly provided me with an appointment. However, I later received a follow-up call that I lived too far away and would not be able to keep the appointment afterall. What a waste of time! They should really re-think how they market their services before they give out appointments. Needless to say, I am disappointed with Magic Plumbing.

Pablo was quick to respond to initial email contact through Angie's, and scheduled Mike to come as soon as I was ready - no problem. Mike got the water heater running, and handled the "less than ideal" conditions presented by my old house, which included a slow floor drain. Both Pablo and Mike did advance research on the condensing storage water tank, and Mike gave helpful info on what it would take to install one with the existing physical structure of my house. And he communicated it without a lot of gobbledegook. He answered other questions without gobbledegook. ;-)

It was a big project and so took them a few weeks to complete the job. I interviewed five or six companies and they were the most knowledgeable. They were always on time if not early. They wrote down everything they were going to do and why. They were excellent to deal with other agents to use the city. They were exceptionally respectful for people who do sewer work. They really were unbelievable. Their price was probably mid range but it doesn't really matter to me as long as they know what they are doing and end up doing the right thing. I actually found people who were willing to do the work who had never done it before. I could tell that there was a big difference in their experience. They are one of the most expanding companies. Once one I had a question, I heard a different sound and they were able to come out within an hour to make sure everything was fine. They really are responsible for the work that they do. They also gave me different levels of options for the solution to the problem because they were taking to account that may be I didn't want to spend all that money upfront and want to do things a different way. They definitely gave me choices of a degree to which I wanted to handle the problem. I thought their price was really fair. I really thought they were outstanding. The thing that was interesting was that when I checked them up they were not rated that highly. They have people who seem to specialize in different aspects of plumbing and so they send the right person to do whatever the specific job is. They have indoor plumber and outdoor plumbers.

Louis the plumber was able to fix a drip that another plumber had failed to. The price was higher than expected, though. He accidentally damaged a part in the process and drove to find a replacement without complaint. He was great about explaining what he did and possibilities for future improvement of our old bathroom. The customer service office was also great to work with. I have some major plumbing work in my home's future and I will definitely be calling Magic Plumbing for an estimate.

Called Magic after 5:00 on a Thursday as that was when our filter broke and was spraying water into the garage. They promised to send someone right away early next morning and they did. Good quick service as promised.
