He took great care to make sure my house didn't get dirtied, and cleaned up the work area after he finished. I will definitely use this company for my future plumbing needs.

job went as planned and as quoted. Cannot speak to quality as this work was done in an apartment unit. Tenants were happy with outcome.

They did what they were supposed to have done. They fixed what they needed to get fixed.

It worked out okay. There were five things that needed doing. They did four out of the five. They sent me a follow up - what I think they intended as a - receipt. But their receipt, from my point of view, just didn't make any sense. The understanding I had was that they were doing $200 or whatever number of dollars of work for a special price of $119. The way they wrote their receipt up, it looks like I paid over $200 for the work and I know that's not correct. It's just the way they did their receipt. It doesn't look okay. My bookkeeper looked at it and said, "How much did you pay? It's too confusing." The guy was punctual and very nice. I'm a long ways from where they are located. They're in San Francisco. I didn't realize they were that far away. I couldn't call them for small things. I'd have to call them, in the future, for something big. Otherwise, it's really not worth their while to come out.

They are very over priced and unprofessional. When I called them I told them exactly what I needed from them, and I told them that I would be able to arrange for the water shut off. When they came out they told me that they were just going to be giving me an estimate, not doing any work even though I had already had the water shut off. They estimated me a price of over $500 just to replace a couple of valves. When they scheduled to come out and actually do the work I called to confirm and they told me they couldn't find me in their schedule!

Went well. He did a good job.

I am basically out of $120 (they wanted to charge me $187) and have nothing to show for. They sent a rookie who had to be instructed to turn things off to see if the meter was still running. He was friendly enough though, and he showed up on time, which was an admirable trait. The problem is that they have wasted my time, and I now have to hire someone else to do exactly the same job. I don't have a problem paying for a job well done. I had hire them to do a job. The job isn't done.

We had installed a do-it-yourself connector between the 1/4" copper refrigerator supply line and the pipe under the house. Magic Plumbing replace it with a soldered permanent connection. The supply changed from a slow drip to a full stream, just as we had hoped. It was a straightforward job in a 4 foot crawl space. They checked behind the refrigerator and found no problems, so they only did the connection. They did not install the line as it was already in place. $374 was the price before Angie's List discount.

This is our second go with Adam and Magic Plumbing. Both times they came the same day they were called. The first was a huge leak in our newly purchased old home. He set our expectations low and agreed with a plumber friend about the need to replace tile in a handicap accessible bathroom. He snaked the drain and was able to get us back and running with no leaks at all. I appreciated the honestly without overcharging! He was efficient and pleasant to deal with! We called again today after working on rusty pipes to install our sink into a system that never had a garbage disposal or dishwasher before. We have probably spent a good 6 hours on that darn pipe including having a plumber friend try for 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes Adam had us up and running. Great service and pricing and will not hesitate to recommend or use them again!

I called the dispatcher and described the issue: when using dishwasher, water would pour down from outside wall. Explained that I had old cast iron/galvanized steel drain pipes. They said they were equipped to fix the issue. The tech came and looked for source of leak inside the house, both in kitchen and above it in bathroom. Found that by splashing water in bath, could produce some water in jacuzzy pump access niche. Said the problem was cracked grout around bathtub, charged $200 for "leak search" and left. I would fix the cracks of course, but I did not believe this would produce the water flow observed, I had dirt covering my garage door from backsplash. I pointed this out to the tech, who just shrugged. Also, when charging me, they would not honor their Angie's list 5% discount, despite my reminder and the dispatcher promise. Too months later the leak was back and very severe. I spoke to Pablo, asking me to refund the $200 or apply to really fixing the issue. He claims that this could very well be a different leak, so no, the best he could offer would be a much smaller discount on another repair which would be $600 or more, depending on amount of work. Grudgingly, I made an appointment, but later had to cancel. To wit, yesterday I finally had the problem fixed. Another company sent 2 guys, who immediately opened up the ceiling in garage and found corroded galvanized steel 2" pipe and leaking connection to cast iron knee. In 2 hours, and 2 more openings in the walls, 2 sections of new pipe and 2 new knees was installed and strapped in in 2 places. And my cost was $400 labor + $33 for parts. Here is one company that charges big money for small suggestions. Here is another that does actual plumber's work and at a reasonable cost. By the way, the plumbers who fixed the pipe could not believe I paid $200 for a leak search.

They were very prompt, I think they came the same day. I would use them again.

Toilet was clogging constantly. Magic Plumbing came in and diagnosed it, saying it was a big rust build up in the pipe. They were gonna have to cut tile to get to the pipe, remove the rust and replace the pipe. They gave me an estimate of 2400. They came back and cut the tile (only cut four 12" squares) and sadly discovered that the pipe in question was embedded in the concrete under the shower. However they had a new machine that they just got that was made to break rust. So they cam back a couple of hours later with it and started using it. Using the machine they discovered that it wasn't rust but some type of metal. They kept banging at it and eventually pushed it down the pipe so it would be under the garage. They scheduled another visit the next day to come and break the concrete in the garage and extract the metal. They came back the next day, cut the concrete and cut out the pipe. What they discovered was a large piece of lead. They also jetted the line and out came another piece of lead. The working theory is that when the original pipes were installed molten lead leaked from the coupling into the pipe. They replaced the pipe with a new pipe, added a cleanout, got it inspected and repoured concrete. That weekend we had another party. Nobody complained about the toilet! :) They called later and said they had to raise from the estimate because of al the extra work they did. Based on all the extra hard work they did (they spent hours with the new machine) I was glad to pay it.

Showed up on time and inspected small leak in the roof of the garage. I had already removed sheet rock and after quick look advised me appeared to be a leak in our shower pan upstairs. Said caulking would take care of it but that it would be extra. Said the Angies list price "basically covered the service call". I fixed the caulking issue after he left. He was in and out in less than 1/2 hr. Would have given all A if not for trying to charge extra for a quick caulk. Honest but expensive.

Not at all, provider was rude, I want a refund for the Magic Plumbing.

The tech who came out to do the work said I would need to pay another $170 for my other drain and ended up not even cleaning the drain I had paid to be cleaned with the coupon I purchased. He was a nice but he didn't even clear my drain.

He was quick to do the job. He knew what he was doing.

I'm glad we had the coupon, it helped a little. We have two bathrooms and in one of the toilets started leaking downstairs to the garage. With that particular toilet, It is right above the garage on the first floor of the living spaces. The toilet had started acting up like something had come loose in the flushing fixture in the tank and it would just keep running. Sometimes it would flood. We had somebody come over, the house keeper that we had, and she somehow glued the thing and it made it a little better. We thought we wanted to have a flushing mechanism replaced but even though the toilet itself wasn't that old, it was probably maybe 15 to 20 years and it was an energy efficient toilet. He said the parts weren't available for that. So he recommended a toilet and it cost 790 dollars. I saw the same online for less. He said if you get it like that we won't warranty it. He said we warranty for 5 years. In retrospect I probably would have bought it from the store.

It went well. They were very nice and attentive. They seemed knowledgeable about plumbing and they seem to know what they are talking about. They were personable and they didn't seem like they were trying to cheat. They were very honest.

There was lack of honesty dealing with the customer; they came to my property and were nitpicking to find expensive reasons to do the job. They wrote me an estimate of $931 for things that I didn't ask for and were working great (there was not a single drop of water leaking anywhere; this was simply a "checkup" call and a request to use a snake to clear a drain which also was working fine). When Pablo the 'manager" asked what needed to be done, I told him specifically two things: 1-check a leak in the garage sink, and 2-clear the drain in the backyard since the pipes connect with the drain to a bathroom in the garage (same area) which was causing soil water to appear in the tub. He said his worker will show between 9-10.Then Pablo calls me to tell me that his worker is delayed since his snake got stuck in the client's pipes and won't show up till 11:00. When I reminded him that I need a snake too, he agreed to send me another worker "Adam" who also had a snake but not till 11:00. I was on my way towards the property when Adam arrived but he talked to the tenant instead. Rather than do the job he was hired for (I had $200 credit), when I called him, he decided to criticize the work done when the house was remodeled and instead emailed me an "estimate" for three jobs charging $931. Adam said he will not do the job now because he had an emergency of a busted heater fixed. I spoke with Pablo again, he was apologetic (even though defending the plumber that he couldn't do the job without my approval. I reminded Pablo that I had approved the job he was hired for and that is: to clear the garden drain using a snake and check the leak in the garage sink. Pablo agreed to send a "third" guy this time at 2:00 pm. I couldn't be there but the tenant told me that he used a snake and the drain was very good, but he didn't fix the leak in the sink. In the end, I was charged the full credit of $200 for such a job, something I usually pay $125 for. And the sink wasn't fixed. It is upsetting that Pablo didn't quote me the price of the snake job and instead applied the full credit of $200. I am assuming he is charging for coming out twice to my place but that was his fault not mine. However, I do appreciate that Pablo worked with me that day to ensure that it is done and we didn't have to inconvenience the tenant again who took a day off from work for this.

Adam arrived on time and he went to work. He was very curteous and efficient. I was very happy with the work he did.

I should have known that it will not go well when it took him two days to call me back after his initial e-mail to me with a lame excuse that he had a payroll to complete. When I called back, whoever answered a call was not professional at all. Finally against my better judgment I scheduled for the following Monday at 9:00 am. I was very specific that if they don't make it by 9:00 to call me and let me know what is going on. By 9:25 I started calling and leaving messages on all phone numbers I had. Finally by about 9:45 I got a call back that they were not aware of 9:00 am and anyway noone could make for at least another 30 minutes. Even with their 1 hour window they were still very late. I was extremely irritated since I took time off work to be there and it got wasted on waiting for nothing. I cancelled this contractor and will never use him again.

Prompt response. Curteous worker. Knowledgeable and able to discuss problem and options.

Service provider was prompt and courteous, but charges seemed high for what was required, even with discount.
