troubleshoot issues with electrical circuit

I think I just had to replace the battery in the thermostat. Their quality was excellent. They did very well. I thought he would have to do a lot more work. He showed me how to take the thermostat off the wall and open it up. He answered all my questions. He was on time. He came right on time, right when he said he would. He was very professional. Yes, I would definitely use him again.

It took a month to get Josh over. Then 2 weeks later, after not hearing, i contacted him. He then asked for plans that never existed. We made an appointment, which he then changed and another he did not keep. All this while he said he was busy with his own house. I get that people need to work on their own properties, but that should not be the bother of clients. Ridiculously unprofessional.

They are excellent. He fixed it quickly. He told me what it would cost before he got here.

Josh was the 7th call I placed to address our electrical problem. He was the second one to actually answer the phone! Rather than starting by quoting his fees to come out same day (as the other vendor did), he asked I send pictures of the breakers and box. I did, and his next suggestion was to call PG&E to be sure the bill had been paid or the service shut off for some other reason. EUREKA! The shared bill (so small we pay well ahead) had been missed! At a minimum, Josh shaved me the $250 quoted by the other company for a same day visit. AND, he was very nice, professional and clearly has run into this issue before. YAY JOSH!!!!!

I'll be having Josh work on our electrical exclusively from here on out. He really did a great job and was able to identify some problems that my previous electrician had created. He is generous with his knowledge and can speak plainly to a lay person about very complex criteria that drive his recommendations. Top notch.

Essentially perfect service. Josh and his father showed up on time, were professional and courteous, all work was done properly. They even talked me out of having some of the electrical work done that I had planned on, due to their view that it would be a bad return on my investment. Their recommendation saved me about $500. Overall, I could not have asked for better service.

I had to have automatic doors put in so they had to put in the electrical outlet. They had to put it in the garage (the electrical outlet) in order for me to have an automatic door. It was electrical because my garage door was by somebody else. They were very prompt in everything. They went about putting it in very well. They put in two outlets, one for each garage. I have two garages. I liked it best because he was in my neighborhood. I was happy with everything he did. They were very responsive. They came very quickly.

Prompt and polite - introduced himself as well as his coworker - when I emailed him he called with 24 hours asked questions and said he was able to do it and was up front with his prices, I agreed and set up an appointment. He arrived on time, and he re-asked what was the issue was, and asked what I did to trouble shoot, he then took over to see what I did wrong, explained the situation and helped me understand what I was doing wrong, and fixed the issue

Josh from James Frost electrical was super responsive in scheduling and quoting our job. He was prompt, very realistic and gave me an education about what was needed and the risks with our old electrical system. The job took a few hours and the job site was perfectly clean when he left.

I saw the positive reviews of James Frost Electrical and decided to call them. A couple of outlets in my kitchen were not functioning. I left a message and received a call back within the hour from Josh. I explained the issue, and he gave me an estimate over the phone. It just so happened that he could fit me in the same day. He gave me an approximate time and said he would check in with me about an hour before that to let me know a more definite time. Josh followed through exactly as promised. He was friendly and professional. He confirmed what the issue was and answered all of my questions. They charge an hourly fee, and there was time left in the hour after he had completed the original work request. I asked if he would look at the other GFCI outlets and replace them if necessary. He said he would be happy to do so and found another outlet that needed replacement. I really appreciated his willingness to do the extra review, which saved me the cost of another service visit. Overall he was efficient, pleasant, and professional. I would definitely call them again if I have another electrical problem. They are a family business, which really came through in their great service and personal touch.

He was great--worked well with my husband, gave us plenty of info and advice for free. He seemed very handy and very capable.

Just great. James and Josh were both punctual and professional, and dealt gracefully with my building's (often nightmarishly) funky, outdated or just plain nutty hardware / fixture obstacles -- seriously, 2 out of 3 fixtures presented bizarre problems and Josh (who did the final installation) solved them, on the fly, without breaking a sweat. His father, James, caught the fact that I had fuses at the wrong amperage, and Josh replaced them. This is a bigger deal than it may sound- fuses that let through amperage higher than your wiring can handle can apparently lead to some very hot wires. Inside your walls. Not good. They caught this and fixed it without my even asking. This was, no exaggeration, by far the best experience I've ever had, not just with electricians, but with handymen or contractors of any kind. They estimated the job accurately (over the phone!) at 3 to 400 and did it for 375. If you've never used many contractors that may not sound amazing. If you have, it should sound borderline miraculous. You get what you pay for: they were probably not the least expensive I found on Angie's list. BUT, and it's a 'but' that belongs in all caps, this is the wiring where you live (or work, or both). If your heart was acting up, would you shop around and hire the cheapest cardiologist you could find? I wouldn't. They had every part they needed, kept my cat from escaping, and worked without complaint amid a real mess I'd made "repurposing' two rooms. I'd hire these guys again in a minute. They're terrific.

way too expensive and does not work weekends!

I am a landlord of an Edwardian apartment building and I had tenants call me at 7:15 am saying that one of their four circuits had blown and would not turn back on. I made a panicked call at 8:00am when James Frost indicates their hours start and left a message. Ten minutes later Josh called me back. Josh gave me a recommendation that might fix my problem [he said it could be that there was a fuse passed the circuit breaker that blew and it would be worth it check that] as had another appointment that morning and said depending on how that went might be able to see me around midday. Fifteen minutes later he called me again and said that they were able to put off the other job until later and that they could see me first as the other was not as pressing. I was really grateful as the circuit that was blown was feeding the apartment's refrigerator and 1/3 of the apartment [yeah very funky old wiring] and we really could not live without it for long. At that point Josh told me it would be $225 for the first hour of two licensed electricians, then $200 an hour after that -- totally reasonable as far as I was concerned. He also said it is very unusual for a job to take more than a couple hours if it is just a repair, but if it turned into something more we would discuss that as necessary. By 9:15 James and Josh were at my place and sluthing the breaker problem. They were thorough and careful and unplugged everything we could find off the blown circuit. Within 1/2 hour it was confirmed it was the circuit breaker itself that was bad, they replaced it and were finished. $225 for the one hour visit, $40 for the new breaker installed. One hour and all done. Happy tenants, happy landlord. :D P.S. I also picked their brains about the process for upgrading the electrical in the apartment and really appreciated how straight they both were about strategies and what might be involved. When it comes time I will definitely be calling them to do the work.

The response was quick and professional. The problem with our washing machine outlet had been worked on unsuccessfully by several other electricians in the past. Joshua Frost assessed the issue immediately and got it fixed. It has been working beautifully ever since.

Josh was very responsive to my call and scheduled an appointment within two days. Jim and Josh arrived early, got to work right away, cheerfully added two tasks to the original call, cleaned up, and finished everything in half the time I expected. They were professional, efficient and friendly from start to finish. I will be calling them again!
