Jay's Small Moves

I was thrilled with the work of the teams Jay/Bill sent me - especially the movers. As mentioned, the packers came the day before. They were 30minutes late, BUT they called in advance to warn me, so I was fine with it. They were courteous and careful, if a touch slow. I was very grateful that they were OK with my use of Zippgo rental boxes (a must for any SF move). They didn't try to sell me any of their packing stuff or the like, which was really appreciated. The three movers who came the next day were absolute stars. So efficient, nice, professional and careful. They were exactly on time and gave me a call 15 minutes prior. They politely introduced themselves and immediately put me at ease. And most importantly, they really knew what they were doing. I never realized how big a difference that makes, but it really does. They knew how to get heavy things in and out of tight spaces without damaging the items or the walls. I've used too many who don't - never again. AND their pricing is VERY competitive. No more than many other firms who do a much worse job. I can't say enough about the team of movers that Jay & Bill sent to me. Wish I could remember their names so I could personally recommend them. My only critique, and it's very minor, is that the move took a bit longer than I hoped/expected. The loading of my large 1BR apartment took the three guys about 4.5hrs and the unloading took about 2hrs (after a lunch break). The good news is that the guys were extremely careful and thoughtful with my stuff. I will never use anyone else in SF. Fantastic! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Jay's Small Moves did a great job! Jason and Omar were very professional and took great care in moving my items. Very fast, efficient and good communication, good price, no problems whatsoever. First time using them... and I would definitely call on them again in the future!

They did an excellent job. I was happy with them. They helped me move secure items and they were quick. Everything went over fine.

clean, fast and carefully well planned. Like a well kept machine, these men knew what they were doing and didi it most efficiantly.

They were great from start to finish. The phone scheduler Bill was knowledgeable and courteous. The estimator (Jose I think) was prompt and explained the pricing and service clearly. Bill gave us a courtesy call the day before to remind us and make sure we were ready. On moving day the 3 guys showed up on time, took great care in wrapping and moving our stuff, and set everything up on the other end. Fast and efficient, and pleasant as well. We thought the price was very fair and no surprises -- they charged us an hourly rate for 3 workmen, plus a small gas surcharge. No charge for supplies or moving blankets etc. Overall, we were very pleased with their service and would use them again. Although -- I never want to move again!

The were excellent. They arrived on time. We discussed the work to be performed and confirmed the price quote and went to work. They were fast, careful and veryi organized. At destination they set everything up in the room very quickly. I highly recommend this company

After the brief consultation call, it was helpful that they called back as move day approached to make sure I had everything we needed to move and that the time/day were still workable. On move day (Saturday) they called to say they would be running behind due to traffic but they did arrive on the revised time (which was only about 45 mins behind schedule). The guys were friendly and seemed to be motivated to get everything done quickly. Unfortunately after unloading the truck at the destination I discovered that they had forgotten to load a few pieces of furniture in a spare room (although they had already wrapped it). Luckily I was able to chase the truck before they left and when informed of the oversight they offered to return to the original location and bring the pieces (which they did). In the end, this was a bit of inconvenience in that we had to remain on site at the new place instead of running a few errands as planned...but in the end not a major issue. We did wonder what would have happened if I had not discovered the oversight while they were still in the neighborhood but I'm sure they would have returned after we called them (if we discovered later)...fortunately the two locations were only a few miles apart. The only other potential "watch out" is that there was a bit more damage to large pieces of furniture and to walls than we've experienced with previous movers (possibly related to the speed at which they were working to complete the job)....nothing major though. All in alll, I would use them again.

I haven't used them yet but they gave me a great quote, great price, they were extremely professional. They were fabulous. They were moving me from San Francisco, an entire house, to a place in the complete boonies with the last stop being on a dirt road. They charged $1000.00 to pack up the house. It is a 4 bedroom house but I don't have that much furniture. The loading was $810.00 and then the deliver was $760. I gave them all the information and they came back with really good questions. I am definitely going to use them in March when I move.

I have moved twice now with Jay's Small Moves. Both times the quote I was given was very clear and I did not get any nasty surprises as I had in past times with other movers. They were on time in a small range. I was able to schedule a move very quickly once I had a new address. They seemed to keep in cellphone contact and to try to minimize my costs. I did not have to pay for driving to my place, and two or three guys could load and unload everything I had in less time than it takes to drive across the bay bridge. So I paid the minimum time in both cases. The guys were clean and worked well together. One floor lamp was broken the second move, but it was a flimsy item to begin with, and I had not asked for any special care. If I had to choose other movers, I probably just wouldn't have done it, because I could buy everything over again for less than many of their minimums. So I was happy to find someone who doesn't mind small jobs.

They arrived on time. They empted out her storage in record time at High Street and moves her to Dublin, CA.

The team of 3 (led by Francisco) showed up 10 minutes early and went straight to work. They laid down mats at the front door and each wiped their feet every time they entered. They were so careful with our stuff in the end we had them take a bunch of stuff we had set aside to move our selves like tv's and computer equipment. It took a second quick trip with the truck to get our stuff in storage in the garage, but overall the move went much faster than we expected.

Overall, we were pleased with Jay's Small Moves staff, service & professionalism. Good value for the move!

The guys showed up more than an hour late and then tried to rush the job. They tried to leave 1 hour into the 2 hours I paid for. Then they packed one pod too loosely to be properly transported. I had to ask them repeatedly (more than 4 times) to pack the box more tightly.

Each member of this three-man team had specific cooperative tasks to perform. Their work was well choreographed, efficient. I am planning to use Jay's Small Moves in the next phase of moving into my new home.

They started loading as soon as they arrived. Moved fast. Had to wait for us to move things and pack sometimes. Were very patient and professional with us. Loaded the truck in a couple of hours, met us at the new place, and unloaded us. There was a few minutes left on the clock, so they offered to help us with one more thing. We tried to move a bookcase into our storage; but it wouldn't fit, so they helped me take it to the dumpster. Very nice guys.

The team was great! 3 guys showed up to move me a short distance- they were early, worked super hard and were really careful with all belongings...just terrific in every way.

The entire process went well, no delays or mishaps. Completed in a timely manner and with no unexpected costs.

The truck and two movers arrived on time. They forgot wardrobe boxes, so Jay himself promptly brought them over. They quickly assessed my space, wrapped the heavy items with blankets and plastic wrap when appropriate, and loaded up the truck. The unload was smooth, quick, and uneventful. Price was extremely reasonable, which eased my stress about moving. I couldn't afford to spend much more than what I did (less than $400), so it's nice to know I can get trustworthy people to perform great work at this cost. I will definitely use Jay's again in the future and recommend them to friends.

Their excellent service started with the reminder phone call the day before the move. Three movers arrived promptly at 8AM (with a phone call notifying me they were on their way.) They packed the truck in about two hours including wrapping all our furniture in packing blankets. At the destination, they laid down moving carpets to not damage the floors and unpacked the truck in about an hour. The final charges came in $200 under their original estimate.

They were very accommodating & wrapped everything to specifications. They were very nice & very professional. I've already recommended them to a friend & would use them again.

Amazing. These guys were half the price we got quoted from others. They showed up on time. They met their bid. They were incredibly hard working, friendly and meticulous. They came back when we asked them to for a few more odd jobs. We couldn't have been happier.

We had a wonderful experience with Jay's Small moves. They were friendly, professional, punctual. The crew worked hard and were very careful with all our belongings. I would highly recommend them!
