Jay's Small Moves

I've never had a move go 100% smoothly, and this move was no exception. However, the post-move service from Jay's Small Moves was the exceptional! I felt very comfortable with all of the guys working in our house, they were friendly and courteous. On the day of the move, they were missing some tools to disassemble our sleep number bed, which they went and bought - and I received a refund for the time lost for that mover being gone. After the move, there was minor damage to a TV stand that they came and repaired, as well as damage to a memory foam insert which they replaced. I've used many movers in the past, none of which I would recommend to family and friends. Jay's small moves is the first company that I can honestly recommend. Thank you Farzi and team.

It went really really well. this is the third time we've used them and we will use them again in the future if we need to move. They work very hard! We Highly recommend using this company. They aren't the cheapest but the money is so worth it.

AAn estimate was provided prior to the move. I was provided with clear information regarding the # of men required to complete this move, and an estimate of approximate # of hours plus not to exceed the # of hours. This move was from a 2 bedroom condo, and included a flight of stairs and disaseembly of 4 items and included a washer and dryer. i phoned twice with questions regarding the upcoming move and received courteous replies each time. One day before the move I received a phone call confirming plus a call the morning of the move telling me of their time (arrived10 minutes early). The 3 men were courteous, and worked efficiently and quickly. They shrink wrapped everything and paid close attention to breakable items. The truck after loading was taken to a safe place for storage until the next morning for unloading in Gold River. The following day in Gold River a different crew of 3 men were again prompt, courteous and worked efficiently and quickly,. It was brought to my attention that one of the boxes with china had some broken items. Apparently some heavier boxes were placed on top of it. They were apologetic and phoned their manager to find out how to compensate me. I was given an additional 5% discount above the 5% discount thanks to Angie's List coupon. Since I could have done a better job of packing these fragile dishes, I felt this was fair. Given the fact that I observed the careful attention the workers gave on each end of the move, I really have no complaints.

Showed up on time, explained the charges (which were exactly what I heard on the phone when we booked the appointment - so no hidden fees or surprises). They wrapped everything with plastic or cloth, quickly loading the truck - each of them communicating so they were efficient on loading the truck. It was helpful to label the boxes with the room that you want things to go into - (if you have more than one bedroom - label bedroom 1, bedroom 2 etc) when they arrived at the new location show them what each room is - and they will do the rest. The took apart the bed and reassembled it perfectly. They announced when the time was done - so when it was time to do the paperwork - it was again clear - no hidden charges.

These guys are real pro's! They were awesome and took great care of our stuff. David, Alex, and Victor were on time, worked quickly, and worked very hard. We highly recommend them to anyone needing moving services!

They were patient with me when I wasn't sure whether to store or take a box or item; letting me search thru the contents while continuing on with their work. They worked all day tirelessly, refusing drinks or food, preferring to get the job done and eat afterwards. They were all friendly, pleasant, cheerful, respectful, helpful, accommodating, professional, and strong! I will request them again when we buy a house in our new city, Oakland CA. Every phone call with the main office was responsive, prompt, knowledgeable, and professional. There were no hidden fees or extra charges. Everything we needed to do the job well was included in their very reasonable $160/hr for the 3 man crew, materials and moving van.

They showed up on time, were personable and made sure to treat our items with care. It was a tricky move due to the high incline on our driveway. They made sure accommodate this with smaller trucks and made sure the piano arrived safely, unharmed.

Service was provided by a group of 3 led by Victor. - Right on time: showed up right on the time of appointment - Very professional and polite, easy and concise communication - Started to work immediately and efficiently, accommodated very request made - Working really hard without complain - my apt management made the rout to loading particularly long and winding, which means each carry would take much more effort, but no complain - Took 15 mins off and deducted it from the final price - Took less than 30 mins to clear my storage room, everyone was fully loaded with boxes - Unloading was also very smooth and careful - made extra attention to floor and no damage incurred - Accommodated all request, e.g., moved sofa and bed around couple of times - pricing was competitive and straightforward - in terms of both hourly rate and flat transportation charge All in all, I am very happy with this moving experience and would definitely recommend to others and use them again in the future if needed.

The movers were friendly, punctual and professional. They told me what to expect, they moved the items carefully and quickly. The condition of my things was maintained in good shape. I ended up needing some items to be brought to the dump and they were willing to bring it for me - I paid for it of course, but this was totally worth not having to re-arrange my hectic day.

Used them myself and hired them to move a family member. They were awesome both times.

I hired Jay's Small Moves after I bought my house in Concord. My stuff was being stored in a storage unit in Pacheco, and I needed movers to load up my storage unit and unload it at my new house. Three movers arrived on time, and got right to work loading my stuff. An hour later, we were already on our way to my new house. At the house, they asked where I wanted everything unloaded. The movers were VERY efficient, and worked quickly, despite the fact that they charge hourly. In fact, they charge by the quarter hour, so we were not concerned that they went a bit over the 3 hour mark. All in all, the total move took about 3 hours, and nothing was broken. When I needed to reschedule my move on the day before it was scheduled, they were completely understanding and rescheduled me for two days later. The estimator showed up on time and gave an estimate that was just slightly higher than what we were actually charged, mostly because the movers were so efficient. The movers arrived right on time and were extremely professional. They were careful with our belongings and worked quickly, despite that they charge by the hour. The 3 guys were very friendly and asked questions about what they could do to help me after they had moved all the furniture and boxes into the new house. I am highly satisfied and would recommend them without hesitation

My movers were Joe and Pepe. They were very professional. They called me from San Francisco prior to moving to inform me one of the chairs was broken at the joint, some I had not noted. The furniture has a very delicate lacquer finish. The packed every piece beautifully. Also the supervisor, Sean, was very professional in his telephone conversations with me.

3 movers quickly and efficiently packed their truck aligning objects perfectly for each stop. All three men were amiable yet very professional. I highly recommend Jay's for anyone having to do a local move as we did.

We had a wonderful experience with Jay's Small Movers, and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. Jesus and Omar arrived right on time and got right down to work. They worked quickly and efficiently, carefully wrapping up our oak furniture pieces and disassembling (and later reassembling) parts of the ones that were delicate or too bulky. They were friendly and extremely helpful and it was a total pleasure to have them working with us. Their attitude was so positive - no complaints when they saw the uneven incline leading up to the front door, even though it meant they couldn't use the dolly and had to do more heavy lifting in the second part of the move. We're so glad we used this company, and would recommend them to anyone who wants a stress-free and professional moving experience.

They were fabulous, more professional than the national team that moved us from Washington state to the Bay Area. They wasted no time, moving as fast as is humanly possible and were all charming and friendly and fun to be around. There wasn't a single negative thing I can say about the experience. They were very responsive, with relatively short notice, punctual and professional. Their pricing was in the ball park with others. I would definitely use them again.

They called because they were running late. They showed up within 15 min of new arrival time and they worked efficiently.

This move went great. They arrived on time and immediately started getting the furniture wrapped and cushioned. They moved everything and complained about nothing. This is the first move I've had ( I've been through 5) that went so perfect. These guys even had to deal with a very small freight elevator in a 100 year old building and they still did not complain. I plan on using them again.

One concern - armoire not reassembled correctly and desk feet not put on desk because movers could not find the legs but I found them in a |box when they left.

I called Magic Moving because of Angies List Reviews 5 days before my scheduled move when my arrangements with another possible mover fell through. The receptionist took my name and said Kevin would call back, which he did. He was very accommodating and came up with a price that was much lower than the other mover, without ever seeing the job. (I knew how much our shipment from our out of state move weighed.) He proposed a flat rate and said they would send 6 guys and 2 trucks. They arrived on time and took more time wrapping our stuff than our first mover from out of state did, including rewrapping some of the stuff in storage. We were very happy with the service. Having said all that, the guys that showed up were from Jay's Small Moves in Oakland, and that's who we wrote the check to, so Magic Moving must have sent the job to them. That seemed a little weird when I finally realized it since no one told me they were making the referral, but they did such a great job on short notice that I can't complain. But in the end, this rating is about Jay's Small Moves. But Magic Moving took care of making it happen, one way or the other, so I gave them a positive review as well.

By far the best moving experience I've ever had - and to be honest, the only positive moving experience I've ever had - I can't reiterate enough how satisfied I am with Jay's Small Moves. I will definitely use them again. 3-man crew arrived 5min early and ready to go at my storage facility with large box truck (more than sufficient for my two-bedroom sized move), loaded everything from storage into truck in abt 15min. We then headed to my old apartment in Nob Hill, where we had the second half of my belongings loaded in about 30min. Final unload took abt 1hr, total time was 2.5hr process start to finish including drive time. Much of my stuff was already in boxes, would have taken a bit longer if we'd required more packing. Movers were extremely polite, respectful, and knowledgeable. They treated all our furniture and fragile items with utmost care, and were organized and extremely efficient in loading up/loading out. Great friendly attitudes, got the job done fast and without any problems or drama, even had interesting small talk while they prepped some large items for transit. I am a huge fan of the pricing model - you pay fixed hourly rate, with a flat travel fee tacked on. You know exactly what you're getting into, and definitely felt like good value. It was also nice to know that if the move had gotten more complicated than anticipated, it wasn't going to be an issue - the time would just run a bit longer and total fee would be a bit higher accordingly, everyone would still be happy.

Jay's Small Moves team showed up exactly on time (bright and early at 8am on a Saturday) with three guys. All three were extremely professional, nice, and were constantly making sure things were going where they were supposed to. The load and unload were both uneventful and professional. They didn't complain at all when moving our (VERY) heavy sleeper sofa. We had moved much of our small personal items already, so it was mostly a furniture move. Things got wrapped nicely in blankets, our big TV was carefully wrapped and transported, and everything made it over without a ding. My only small criticism would be that their website makes no mention of the $75 materials/transport fee on top of the hourly fee. It was clearly disclosed upfront on the phone, but they should probably put it on the web too. All in all, very satisfied. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

It went very well. There were 3 men and some of our pieces were very heavy even for 3 but they did not complain. They had to work around a curving stair cases and several doors. I am not giving them a total A rating because I have worked with a company off and on and they do almost perfect work. I realize I may not be quite fair because they were taking one or two items in or out for me while Jay was removing a whole flat.
