Isias was terrific. They gave a free estimate, did the service on time, and it was completed in a professional, prompt manner. I would definitely use Ike's Electric again.

I got several quotes for this job. One contractor with high marks here on Angie's List communicated well in the beginning and then suddenly stopped responding in the middle of an email conversation. Another contractor with high marks here quoted an absurdly high price for this job and justified it by saying the job was nearly impossible and would require doing a lot of extra work. In contrast to these people, Isaias from Ike's Electric was competent, professional, responsive, communicated very well, and was not interested in charging me extra money for extra work that didn't need to be done. It took some time to get on his schedule (he's very busy), but it was well worth the wait.

This firm was professional from start to finish. The estimate was right on target, they were great listeners, suggesting ways to keep costs down, plus were able to schedule AND complete the job quickly. I wouldn't hesitate one second to hire them again in a heartbeat.

Ike and his crew are pretty amazing. Friendly, cheerful, competent, good communicators (in person, on the phone, e-mail). Ike came by to give us an estimate, then scheduled his crew to do the work. Ike came back afterward to get the inspection signed off. Almost 1/2 of the cost of this job was permit-related -- so it would be even less if city permitting wasn't important to you.

A special thank you to Ike for explaining how my circuit breaker works over the phone. He asked a few brief questions about my problem then walked me through some steps to check before he made a service call. He obviously has experience with older homes in San Francisco and was able to advise me exactly what I needed to do to get the power in my living room on. He was prompt returning my phone call and didn't talk down to me or make me fell stupid about my questions. Fortunately I was able to fix the problem myself and he didn't need to make a service call. When I'm in need of electrical work in the future he'll be the first person I contact as he was very prompt, respectful and professional.

He ran electric conduit to the location for the camera and then installed the camera itself. He then returned about a week later to clean the lens at no cost. He previously installed a security light outside on my deck on the second level in August, and then again in September installed a security light outside downstairs. Each job was done very well and I have had no problems with any of his work. Plus he is a very personable and nice guy.

Ike's bid was $2175 versus around $3000 for the other electricians, I was a little wary of such a large discrepancy (sometimes cheapest is not best) but based upon his good reviews I decided to go with Ike. He performed the work extremely professionally, replacing two main breaker panels in place in a very tight cabinet, this was not a trivial replacement. IKE was on time and on budget, he even helped me do a load calculation required by the city inspector without charging me. So even though he was $800 less then the other bids, his work was outstanding and timely. I will most definitely use him again and wholeheartedly recommend him.

Isaias from Ike's came out and looked at our job, he promptly prepared and submitted an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He installed the system efficiently per the time he estimated and it works beautifully. We are thrilled with his work and highly recommend Ike's Electric.

Very prompt initial visit to gage work project and provide estimate. It's a small, local vendor (father & son - mostly son now) so scheduling for the actual work took a while (about 2 weeks from initial visit). Work was completed in two 1/2 day visits, which was fine. I purchased the retrofit LEDs based on recommendations from Isaias (Ike's son). Extremely satisfied with the finished project and would highly recommend Ike's Electric for any electrical project. Am considering a guest bath remodel in '15 and will request the contractor use Ike's Electric. BTW, the final cost came in slightly under estimate. What's not to like? :-)

We could not have been happier. We called for an estimate, the response was timely...within 2 days. And when we authorized the work to be done, we got an estimate of the cost and a promise to do it within 5 days. Then, to our surprise, the guy made time for us the very next day. We could not have been happier. As far as we are concerned, this is 5-star service, and reasonably priced to boot!

I had talked to a previous electrician and he said it was likely just because I had old 1950s knob and tube wiring and this was the inevitable result. But I didn't have the budget to rewire the house. When I Ike came out we started at the breaker box and I explained the problems we had been having and that even PG&E had come out and said the power to the box was fine. Because I identified the circuits that were flickering, Ike deduced that the problem may be coming from one of the two 120 volt lines coming into the house, and that the problem may not be in my house after all. He said that the two lines typically feed alternating circuits in the box so that could explain why some circuits were flickering and others weren't. I called PG&E to come out again and they did more exhaustive checking and sure enough, one of the connectors on the power pole had melted and created a bad connection. This had been causing my flickering lights for the past year. PG&E respliced the connection at the pole and my flickering completely stopped. I am so thankful to Ike that he pointed me in the right direction and I was able to fix the problem without replacing any wiring. And even though I offered to pay Ike for his visit he said no, the first visit was free. He was very helpful and seemed to have the experience to know what he was doing and provide excellent trouble shooting.

Fast, efficient, friendly, and fair.

Ike's Electric did a superb job. I live in an older house with older wiring, and it was quite difficult to install the pendant lighting transformer. Plus, the vendor that shipped the transformer (not Ike's Electric) shipped a used transformer. Ike's Electric figured out how to install the entire system, fixed the transformer, and found a dimmer that would work with the system. Prompt, courtesy, smart, professional and thorough. Plus, an SF Giants fan, always a bonus. We felt extremely fortunate to fine Ike's Electric and they will be our electrician of choice.

The only reason I did not give them an A on price is because there are less expensive providers out there. . . but there reviews had been great and it was true. I will be using them again.

I was told by an SF City inspector that I had to move an electrical panel out of a closet and onto a wall. Ike Electric did the job without a problem. They rewired the entire home and also fixed the heaters and kitchen and bathroom lighting. I am very glad I contacted them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Isaias is a true electrical expert and I am very pleased!!

It went very well. He was very clear on what needed to be done before starting the job. He explained what he was doing while he was working as I was interested in what had to be done. I live in a building built just after the 1906 earthquake and he explained the issues you can potentially have with these old building. He was friendly, personable and I would definitely hire him again.

We would definitely recommend Ike's Electric. After buying our home in the city, we knew we needed electrical work done. Isaias came out and provided a written estimate with various options to allow us to choose what we'd like to do now and potentially save for the future. We decided to have a new electrical panel and service upgrade done, installation of outside lights with a timer, and rewiring and grounding of electrical outlets. They began quickly and did a great job. Len and Emilio arrived on-time each day, always let me know when power needed to be turned off to make sure it was convenient, kept us up-to-date on their progress, and cleaned up before they left each day. And they even took the time to install a new thermostat for us (which was not part of our original project scope). We love having our wiring up to code and safe and they did an awesome job! We will definitely be calling them anytime we need anything electrical done.

I contacted this provider solely on the terrific ratings I read in this List. My first entry into the world of Angie's List. Before I made my first attempt to contact this electrician, I was so excited that there was such an terrific electrician in the City - San Francisco, California. I felt there was no need to search any further for a second or third estimates. The first and second voicemail messages on separate days during normal business hours during the week did not generate a call back. I assumed the electrician and his crew were busy with business given their terrific ratings. The third voicemail message late in one week generated a response early the next week. After two phone conversations, he arrived late to give me an estimate. I am not sure who really showed up in the unmarked gray pickup truck. The estimate for the 3 electrical jobs on site - nonfunctioning electrical socket in the lobby, nonfunctioning exterior wall security light, and a new indoor office installation involving a switch and lighting fixtures - gave me sticker shock. When I called about the written estimate, his answers left me even less inclined to hire him. I did not hire him because I felt that this guy could not be bothered - either the three jobs were too small or too complex. His lateness in showing up to give me an estimate, especially since he chose the time and day - Monday morning at 10 am, and his overall unresponsiveness were deal breakers. Either he was having a bad day - more like having a bad month since my initial voicemail message to the day I got the written estimate spanned several weeks - or the company is under new management, the ratings and my experience did not match. This guy was a bad experience for me. I - not my wife Susan - write this review only now because the electrician who I eventually hired and completed an outstanding job gave me an opportunity to see an informed comparison.

We had a excellent experience with Ike's Electric. Isaias was very helpful with advising us on what we needed to do be done and even came out twice to be sure that he was accurate with his estimate. His crew ended up finding more issues than expected with the pre-existing wiring and took a bit more time to complete the work but they still kept to their original estimate. It was clear that his team was knew their stuff and were focused on taking the time to make sure things were done right. Everyone was very courteous and they made sure to clean up after each day's work. Just be warned that you will probably need to patch up yoru dry wall after they're done (he did warn us of this before hand). We will definitely call Ike's when we need more electrical work done in the future.

The install was a bit tricky because it required three separate fixtures in the ceiling that had to be connected off one switch. Isaias warned me that he might have to cut extra holes in the ceiling to get pieces connected but he was able to do the work without leaving me any extra patching/painting. We had a diagram indicating how we wanted the sections hung and he did it exactly as requested. He was very polite, extremely competent and when the job was complete he cleaned up any debris and even helped me move the dining table back into place. Ike's was able to do the work on very short notice and although we had to call to find out that the appointment time had been moved, Isaias showed up exactly at the new time.
