+ -1 moreWith all the Big Box stores like BestBuy taking over every aspect of life it seems, it's nice to find a small, independent shop still in the neighborhood to rely on! They know their gear, and will help you choose the right equipment for your needs. Customer Service is alive and well at Harmony. If I had anything negative to say about Harmony, it's that the Owner, Frank, needs to drop the pretentious, elitist attitude that he sometimes has on the phone, like I know prevails in these "High End Audio" stores. Not everyone lives in Pacific Heights and is going to spend boatloads of money in the store. Their selection could be a little better, but I know space is a premium in high rent S.F. so I completely understand.
Description of Work: I have a Yamaha RX-V3000 receiver and managed to run it for a while with one speaker disconnected, which fried a good part of the amplifier and host of other parts. Luckily, I had purchased an extended warranty when I bought it from The GoodGuys, who are no longer in business. Since Harmony is an Authorized Yamaha dealer I brought it there to be repaired. It was quite a bit of work to go through the entire large and complicated A/V Receiver and took quite a while to repair (around 6 weeks if I remember right), However, when I picked it up, it looked and worked good as new, as it still is. Harmony's great expertise in repairing complicated A/V gear is impressive. My extended warranty picked up the tab for what would probably have been an $800 bill, more than the receiver was worth. Moral to that story, NEVER run audio equipment with a speaker disconnected!

Description of Work: Harmony repaired my Yamaha CD/Cassette Radio player. The CD portion of system had stopped playing the CD's. Harmony gave me an estimate ($40 included in the total cost of the repair) and replaced several parts. The total cost of the job was as Harmony had estimated.

+ -1 moreI was treated awfully by the sales person. I walked in the store with the instruction booklet from my system. I had called ahead and they instructed me to go in on Monday when it wouldn't be busy. I asked the man if he would have the equipment I would need. He was rude and didn't seem to know what he was talking about. When I disagreed with what he was telling me he told me "Get out of my store! You're belligerent and drunk!" I could not believe this guy! I will make sure to tell all my friends and acquaintances not to use this store.
Description of Work: I went in for an estimate and to look at some products.
