Secured an next-day appointment, Carlos showed up early for the appointed time, diagnosed the problem and fixed it in a 1/2 hr, then checked the exhaust duct and made some adjustment. The cost was extremely reasonable. If we need appliance repair in the future we will call them.

He was on time, super pleasant and had all of the tools and items needed for the job. We have a lot of stairs - I hate it when a repair man keeps running up and down to get his tools. It was done quickly, without making a mess in my kitchen. He even put back the food when the job was done.

He was 15 minutes early. My dryer was heating nor drying my laundry. He looked at the dryer and within 15 to 20 minutes later he diagnosed the problem as a dryer sensor. He left for an hour and he returned with a dyer sensor part. The drydr works great.

Carlos gave us a time range between 2pm and 4pm and showed up promptly at 2pm. He provided a replacement fan which was cheaper than the price quoted by the local appliance parts store and had our refrigerator up and running in no time. He was professional and courteous and even helped us reattach a loose part on our dishwasher at no additional charge. Would certainly call him again if we needed an appliance repaired.

Everything is working again and we are very pleased with this service.

My oven stopped working at 8:30pm the day before Thanksgiving. I left a message for Golden Gate that night and asked for service for that Friday. Carlos and his assistant arrived promptly and had the problem diagnosed and were working on it before I could get down to the garage! I have used this company for many years. Carlos has been the repairman I have had (now owner?) and the repair was done very quickly and efficiently as usual. He always has a pleasant attitude besides! I highly recommend this company.

My experience with them wasn't so bad. Their pricing was good and the service they did was excellent. I would still have them repair my appliances in the future if it requires.

My Whirlpool gas dryer stopped working 10 days ago but I didn't know at first that it was broken because I was able to turn it on and the clothes were being tumbled. But after trying 3 times to get my clothes dry, I realize there wasn't any heat! I looked in the Yellow Pages and saw Golden Gate Appliance Repairs listed and gave them a call. I also called two other places for estimates. I wasn't sure who was more reliable, so that's when I looked at Angie's List. That's where I saw that Golden Gate Appliance had a lot of good reviews and that customers were pleased with the prices. The receptionist was going to send out a repairman the following day but I told them I was going to be out Wednesday so we scheduled it for Thursday 8-10 am. On Thursday, Carlos came on time and in 15 minutes, he was done! He showed me the piece that was broken and said it was a common problem that happens after years of usage. My family has had this dryer for at least 10 yrs. if not longer so I'm very happy I don't have to replace it! By the way, someone should update the address of Golden Gate Appliances Repair as they're no longer on Grant Avenue in San Francisco! They've moved to their location in Daly City since the beginning of 2012, at least that's what I thought the receptionist told me but their phone numbers are still the same.

He comes really quickly. He has all the equipment he needs in his truck so he can repair things right then and he doesn't go over the top.

Carlos answered the phone promptly and was about to schedule an appointment for the next day. But when I said Mill Valley, he said the company no longer crosses the bridge into Marin. He was very courteous. He also said Joel Berg, whose name is associated with Golden Gate App. Repair on Angies List, has not been with the company since the 90s.

I called Golden Gate as we have 3 kitchen appliances that have minor issues that need repair. The person that answered the phone made it very challenging to get or give information and I felt frustrated at the end of the call. I told the woman that answered the phone that we had three appliances that needed repair. She said nothing. I said, so what information do you need from me? She said there is a $59 service fee and a $69 flat rate plus parts. I said, ok, would it help if I told you what is wrong with my appliances, so that we have a better chance of knowing if the technician would have the parts when he/she comes? She said, if he doesn't have the parts he will order them, but we still charge the $59 service fee. SO, I said, why don't I just tell you what the problems are so that you can give the technician that information? That way we can see if a service call even makes sense. OK? We have a SubZero refrigerator... She said, we don't service SubZero.... OK, we have a Bosch Dishwasher... She said, we don't service Bosch. I thanked her and hung up the phone. I'm guessing/hoping that she is new and undergoing training, but this was pretty ridiculous. The person answering the phone is the potential customers first impression, and this reflected poorly on Golden Gate.

I use Golden Gate all the time. They are really good. The price was quite reasonable. They are pretty honest, always dependable and fix everything. They came right out when I needed them. They are always wonderful!

Easy to reach by phone, arrived in the time window specified, worked quickly and efficiently, cleaned up afterwards, was pleasant to have in the house, fixed the dishwasher in a remarkably short time. He was very knowledgeable. Knew right off what the problem was. Replaced the coils controlling the gas heater in the dryer and was done within 15-20 minutes.

They are very friendly, they didn't over charge, and the experience was great.

The service I received was awesome. Carlos is one of the most efficient appliance repairmen around. Very knowledgeable, professional, and prompt. He had to find the correct part and dealt with a very difficult service department at Thermador. The part number Thermador had listed on it's website (where you go to order the parts) was actually WRONG, so he couldn't just order the part. He had to call them multiple times and deal with a very frustrating situation. He kept at it and did not charge us for the significant amount of time he spent. When the part finally arrived, he came ASAP to install it and gave us a very fair price. I couldn't recommend any service person more highly!

Carlos is the man. He just fixed my washer (incomplete spin cycle), stove (bad igniter module) and ice-maker (air in the line). Charged me $195.27 for parts and about an hours worth of labor. Said he's been doing this for 20 years and it shows."

Golden Gate deserves a glowing recommendation. They charged me only slightly over a hundred bucks for a major job on my washer. That really impressed me. They were really good about punctuality and the work they did was impressive.

The filter was a simple fix but I couldn't do it. They did it easily, showed me how to do it and adjusted the charges to reflect the work done. Instead of $75 they charged $55. There were two of them and that covered the trip charge. They also looked at my dishwasher and gave me the name of the person they thought was best for repairing a Miele.

This was a routine repair and was dispatched with no problems.

Promptly kept appointment to inspect the washer on the first call, where Sears called to cancel their appointments twice on two separate days. Repaired the washer within the estimated cost in a short time. Hourly rate was less than Sears and the work guaranteed for one year.
