+ -1 moreIt went very well. My only issue would be the lack of 10% senior discount. Discount indicated on Angie's List but when I asked about it I was advised that he does not provide the discount. Perhaps the Angie's listing should be updated?
Description of Work: Connected my TV and Sonos Zone Bridge to A/V receiver and set-up (connected) my speakers for 3 channel surround.

+ -1 moreGene is a gentleman. He is professional, as well as personable. If you want to talk, he's ready to talk. If you want to be quiet, he'll work quietly. He arrives with tools in hand, parts and all. He is clean, respectful of the work area you provide for him, and graceful in his craft. He showed up on time. The only suggestion I can add is that a reminder call would help some folks. His ethos is a repairman's ethos. If you can fix it, do it. This is coming back into fashion, thank goodness. The old notion -- if it's broken, throw it away and get a new one -- is finally getting the criticism it deserves. So Gene is a man where the times have come his way. I have recommended him to many of my friends, who are also trying to take good care of old electronic audio gear.
Description of Work: Gene repaired a cassette player and a receiver/tuner for me. The cassette player had a tape cassette frozen in play position. He carefully diagnosed the problem, and then made the repair. And then he tested his solution several times to make sure it would work after he left. He also repaired a stereo receiver/tuner that was of the 1980 era. It had great fidelity, but the tuner mechanism had slipped badly. So the tuner no longer calibrated to the station's frequency. Not only did he fix that, but he also cleaned the circuit board of dust and worse. This should extend its useful life by quite a lot, reducing heat and improving its efficiency.

+ -1 moreI have been so glad I discovered Gene and thereafter used his services exclusively for over 10 years now. As a musician with both vinyl and CD collections, I love his expertise with both turntables and contemporary equipment. As a busy schoolteacher, I treasure the fact he MAKES HOUSE CALLS! As a family man, I notice he relates well to my spouse, kids, and even pets while he is in my home. In sum, all of my stereo needs over the past decade have been well attended to. (I recommend anyone to check out his web site for further info and testimonials.)
Description of Work: Gene came to my house to address radio reception problems with my tuner, as well as give it a general "check-up" and "tune-up." It is a classic, older, Harmon/Kardon model, which is again performing and looking like new. While here, he also adjusted the styluses and tone arms on two record players.
