Dale arrived on time and, using an air chisel, worked quickly to chip the cleanly-cut stucco around the new door so that the new stucco could be blended with the old (which he hauled away). He installed additional felt paper to extend under the existing building paper, installed metal lath, and neatly blended the new stucco into the old. Total time from start to finish was approximately 2 hours. As he predicted a few hair-line cracks formed once the stucco was dry. Overall he did a fantastic job matching the finish of the new stucco to the existing stucco.
Description of Work: Replaced the stucco around a recently-installed 6' Andersen French door.

Friis Plastering Company is very good, responsive, and courteous. The job was done when they said it would be. They cleaned up after themselves. Everything was very well done, and very well handled. I wasn't here when they did the work, when they finished I sent them a check.
Description of Work: I used Friis Plastering Company to do some work around my house. I also called them back at another time for an estimate.

Dale and his crew showed up on time, worked efficiently and unsupervised (I won't say "quietly" because it involved little jackhammers), and cleaned up after themselves (and this was a messy job, removing all the old stucco, down to the concrete!). There were no overages, and Dale even gave me advise on some other work that needed to be done, and other contractor references, and Dale's a laid back and friendly guy. The work looks fantastic too! I would definitely recommend Friis! Friis Plastering Company... don't think twice... Call them!
Description of Work: I had an exterior retaining wall that was continuously shedding it's stucco coating. After several attempts by the original landscaping company to repair this (granted, for free), I decided to shop around for another contractor who knew how to fix this once and for all (even if I had to pay for it, again!). During the bidding process I learned that they had used interior plaster, not just once, but even on the repairs! I'm glad I decided not to allow them back to fix it. Bozos! I took bids from three stucco/plaster contractors, and it wound up being a "no brainer" to go with Dale Friis & Co. His estimate was just a tiny bit above the lowest bid, but nearly half of the third bid. (Why didn't I go with the lowest bid? That guy showed up and repeatedly cleared his throat and spat on my property, right in front of me. If you're reading this... that's a seriously gross habit dude!... and you lost work because of it!).

Excellent job at a very good price. Dale Friis was recommended to me by a friend that he did some small patching job for, so at first I was a little concerned about his doing a much larger job, and how it would blend in to the existing stucco. The fact that I never actually talked with a live person (answering machine and faxed bid) before he showed up for the job didn't help my confidence much, but he and his crew showed up when they said they would, and did an outstanding job, including the cleanup. I can't tell where the old wall ends and the new work begins. He doesn't say much, but he sure does a hell of a fine job. I'd definitely use him again, and recommend him to others.
Description of Work: Stuccoed two walls that had been rebuilt after extensive repair work, blending them into existing walls.

Would highly recommend Dale Friis and would use them again for sure. They came in at half the cost of the 2 other bids that I received. The work came out better than expected at half the cost and half the time expected. Very pleased. Only complaint is that Dale's hard to get a hold of, but apparently that's because he's busy doing jobs.
Description of Work: Did a skim coat over existing damaged exterior 1st floor section and then finished the surface to match the existing 2nd floor exterior.

We had a big area of dry rot repair where we had wood exterior walls with 3 inch bats running vertically. Since we are near the ocean and this was on a west facing wall we opted to cover over in stucco rather than add another layer of plywood and bats. I got estimates from 5 or so plastering or stucco companies (the terms seem to be used interchangeably). Dale Friis had the best price, great references and had excellent advice for us as we were contemplating how to proceed. Dale worked with my contractor and was available to come over twice to look at the work and answer our questions. When we were ready for him Dale set a date, came on that date, finished the work as he promised and was generally very professional and buttoned up. The stucco work Dale did was superb.
Description of Work: Outside stucco (or plastering) of rear wall and third story deck walls over plywood as well as repair of damaged area of existing stucco, and floating of 1/4inch of stucco over an existing stucco wall.

Dale Friis and his crew did a great job stuccoing some repair work on our front porch, and another patch on our bay window. They always arrived on or before the day, they told us to expect them, and left the worksite in an immaculate state. Pretty amazing, considering the nature of their work is quite messy. Their patches matched the original texture of our house very well, and their price was much better than, what another contractor charged us for a similar patch. I'm very pleased with their service.
