+ -1 moreScott transformed our world! His good humor and extensive knowledge of color, products and availability turned our dinning room, living room, entry hall make over into a stress-free joy. I had never used an interior designer before so was unsure what to expect. In the end it was clear that Scott had a wonderful overall concept in mind but he always listened carefully and we worked together as a team (at least he made us feel like we were having all kinds of input! :). I now know that we never would have created half of the fabulousness that we ended up with on our own. His ideas saved us many thousands of dollars. Having Scott's expertise saved us not only money but time and angst because we made no mistakes and he was able to send us to all the right stores and services. Scott has an extensive network of trades folks who do quality work at fair prices and he turned us on to many high-end bargain deals we never would have dreamed existed. His exquisite taste shines through but it is still OUR house, OUR taste too. WOW! I don't know how he did it but he even got me to give up my heavy old custom drapes I was determined to hang on to (they were SO wrong and he was SO right) Thanks to Scott's always professional and gentle guidance we now live in a warm, functional and welcoming home.

+ -1 moreScott was recommended to me. We met at the house and discussed my needs and restrictions (budget!). Scott was undaunted, followed up with a contract, and several catalogues with his suggestions marked. i visited show rooms on my own, or with Scott and purchased items. On several occasions Scott would bring a range of products to try to the house and we would decide what worked and didn't work. The process took two to three months each time as we waited for new furniture to be delivered , had existing furniture re-upholstered, and tried out different lamps, pillows, etc. If Scott wasn't available, members of his very capable support staff would meet with me, shop, do whatever was needed at a time that suited me. Throughout the whole process, Scott and his staff did a lot of the "running around" to buy and return items that didn't work out. Scott also negotiated with the artists who created some of the artwork we purchased. It was an interesting, fun project each time. Scott's ability and personality ensured that there was very little stress involved. I recommend Cunningham design wholeheartedly.
Description of Work: Scott has helped us decorate our whole house once and the living and dining rooms twice. We wanted to utilize most of the furniture that we had but to modernize nevertheless. We also wanted to make the changes on very tight budgets. Scott met these goals. He was very quick to identify the furniture that had to be replaced to get the look that we wanted - sofa's, dining room table and chairs, an easy chair, etc. He also changed two rugs, a painting and a lamp in the lounge room, added a wire sculpture and completely changed the appearance and atmosphere in the room. His attention to detail enabled us to update some glass fronted cabinets by wall-papering the inside of each cupboard to achieve a much more sophisticated look. In the bedrooms his choice of bed linens, fabrics for existing chairs, and decorative pieces made the rooms much more attractive. Scott was very easy to work with. He was punctual, professional, friendly and had a great sense of humor. He was patient as we looked at many fabrics, pillows, rugs and lamps before making decisions. Is was a pleasure to shop with him for specific pieces of furniture and he was always willing to return items and try something else. He was very flexible in finding solutions that suited our taste, not his. And very creative in using the things that we already had and wanted to keep.

Aaron arranged for Scott Cunningham to be our designer and we are beyond glad that he found him! Scott has an amazing eye and helped us realize our dream house, spending thorough time with us to go over *all* of the details associated with it. What we like best about Scott is his laid-back personality. He is very good at articulating his opinions without being insulting but doesn't hesitate to let you know when things aren't working. I think that art of tact is something that not a lot of designers have. It was a pleasure working with Scott and my wife and I highly recommend him for your design needs!

+ -1 moreScott listened to our needs and quickly understood what we were looking for. He took photos of the rooms we would be working on, explained his ideas and shopped in a variety of ways to get just what we wanted. He kept our home in mind and bought items that he saw while shopping for other clients (so that I could try them in our house,) some of which we kept. He persisted with different fabrics, e.g. in cushions, until we found the very best match. He was creative with unusual spaces but kept our simple tastes and limited budget in mind when picking furniture. He had suggestions for keeping prices down but still enabled us to buy some nice pieces e.g. very attractive antique-looking Korean Chest which is actually recently made and not in Korea! The upholsterer that Scott organized to cover chairs and make ottomans did a great job. Scott was punctual, readily accessible, professional and fun to work with. And he has great taste and a good eye for what works in a room.
Description of Work: Consultation and guidance in purchase of additional furniture, upholstery, linen, art, etc from catalogs, stores, showrooms, websites and samples. Personal shopping with decorator's discount. Liaison with upholster, etc. Everything done with patience, humor, good taste, artistic flair, within budget and on time!
