It was $50 a session so it was $500 for 10+ hour long sessions. She is very enthusiastic about organizing. This woman loves organizing the way I hate organizing. She is also very understanding and compassionate and she likes to get to the problems that keep people from organizing, but she also has really practical and workable solutions to get you beyond that in order to get organized. Along with the 10 telephone sessions, she provided a really detailed, usually about 8-10 page written outline so I can have it and make it into a notebook and have it with me forever so I have written back up for what we talked about. She also has a question and answer period at the end that went on as long as people had questions so there wasn't any time limit, and we didn't feel rushed. I really like her. She has helped a lot and she is very helpful without being judgmental. She is a little expensive, but she prices herself for what she is worth, and I have to respect that. It's not irresponsible pricing, it is appropriate pricing.
Description of Work: Comfortable Structure Organizing Solutions is an organizer I used. Virginia Maddan is the contact name. She had a follow up telephone course so it was very interesting. It was an hour weekly for 10 weeks, and it was a kind of a group therapy session for the disorganized. It was a conference call, and it was much cheaper and it was a different approach. She calls it OFG which meant Organizing for Good. It is a whole different thing. I did that as a follow up and I thought it was excellent.

She does it twice a month. I cancelled the last couple of times because my husband was in the hospital. She has done four sessions. It takes a while. I skipped May altogether. She does three hour sessions because she found that shorter than that she doesn't get a lot done, enough done and longer than that it's too much for your mind. So she sits down on the floor with you and works through stuff. I really had a mess and she is with me and I work with her. So you work along together. She doesn't just give you instructions and she doesn't say, "Use pre colored binders" or anything. She makes different categories as she goes through. I'm a person that had accumulated a massive paper work and she really helped me go through it and organize; throw out what needed to be thrown out, put in storage what could be put in storage because it was so old and get the categories that were new that I needed to be able to get to quickly for the last year or so in the file cabinets I had. I had all the right equipment. So she is not somebody that is trying to sell equipment or really sell you anything except for the organizing. I found her very bright, very understanding. I said to her, "I hate paper workand rdquo; which I do. She said, "I love paper workand rdquo; which she does. She is really a pleasure to work with. She is more expensive than a lot of them out there. She charges $100/hour. It's $300 a visit; it ends up being $600 a month. I can usually keep up with the paper work, but the last 6 months, because of all this stuff with my husband being sort of in and out of the hospital and I'm a doctor and so I get all these mails that I don't ask for. Luckily I'm semi retired so it's not like I have to go to work everyday but I just let almost a year of stuff just pile up. I managed to pay the bills on time and renew my licenses, important stuff, but everything else I just put on hold which became the whole study. So I mean you have to be careful; we walk in this. Luckily we have this bedroom that was converted to a sea of paper. So she has helped me greatly. I cancelled one of the sessions in May too because he was in hospital the whole month. While I had her cancelled I had two emergency calls from Kaiser where I did part time work that they had sent my stuff to the wrong address and I had to get all this information to them to get my medical reappointment to the staff done. It had to be done in a day. Usually it takes me two weeks to get all that chunk together; licenses. And I got it done in a day because she had gotten me organized. And something else came up that was kind of obscure but had to be done immediately and I knew exactly where it was because of her. So the plan is to have, she is coming tomorrow then she is going to be twice in June and we have once in July. Her idea is to do it like a couple of times a month, the first two or three months and then sort of as needed. You have to do it and then she wants to kind of review doing it on your own. Right after I started working with her I met the girlfriend of a friend of mine who does this at $35/hour but she didn't sound so good. I really like what Virginia is doing. I would say she is expensive but worth it. So it actually really helped me, I would say, professionally and personally because it helped me with my work to get all that stuff together for the licensing and personally because it really helped to have all the information they needed old cat scans and stuff like for what was going on with him now. I still have far to go since the whole month that I cancelled her I've already been accumulating. She has been very kind towards me with all of this changing around. When I called and talked to her I really liked talking to her. I had my own medical practice for a while till I retired and I have worked, in San Francisco downtown, with organizers before and they never really helped. So she is somebody who knows what to do. I feel very, very good about her.
Description of Work: I have utilized the services of Virgina Maddan from Comfortable Structure Organizing Solutions. She helped me get all the medical history stuff together when things started going wrong with my husband and it was scattered around but thanks to her I had organized it at least to help fill box so I knew where to go and I was able to give the answers they needed to see what had happened since.
