Description of Work: BOLT had an ANGIES LIST ad to install a whole house surge protector for $99. I hired BOLT to put it in. I am a single, older woman, easy target? The BOLT electrician told me, that my main panel was a major fire hazard, there were signs that it had already burnt & I needed a new panel right away & BOLT would do it for the low price of $2,000+ (I have it in writing). Right away, I had a different licensed electrician evaluate my panel. He said the panel was just fine except that the surge protector had been installed incorrectly & he installed correctly. I paid him $75. I hired another licensed electrician to break the tie (1 bad panel, 1 good panel) He said the panel was fine & the surge protector was installed correctly. I paid him $75. Now that I knew my panel was fine & the BOLT electrician was "wrong", I called to speak to the owner. I called 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks before he finally spoke to me (his mother died, he was out of town, family issues...). He didn't want to hear it. He said I should have called BOLT back to do another inspection instead of paying 2 different electricians & BOLT would have caught his guys mistake, right......

+ -1 moreIt went great. We felt like Andrew took a lot of pride in his work, he said that and it showed. He was very thorough, he worked on figuring out the problem by process of elimination until he got to this point in the line where the problem was occurring. He was also able to fix this other problem with a faulty part at the plug that was unrelated. We were happy with that, too. He did leave holes in our ceiling that he didn't repair. I thought his prices were fair, his quality of work was okay but I was disappointed in the mess he left.
Description of Work: Bolt Electric repaired some electric lines that our original electrician botched. We had an electrical fire and he helped us determine the cause and fix the part that was broken.

Description of Work: He checked some of my sockets and changed a light globe for me. He also connected a new appliance and looked at another appliance and set it for me. He was here for less than an hour.

+ -1 moreThe technician came right out when he said that he would. He looked around for a few minutes and figured out what was wrong. He told me what had caused the problem and how I could fix it. He was informative for me. I think that one hundred dollars a steep for a service call.
Description of Work: Bolt Electrical came out to find out why half of the electrical outlets in my home were not working.
