robert came and measured, very prompt and professional. we reached decision quickly. he provided HOA requirement timely so that project went smoothly. installer is a third party (Steve and Max) but they have been the installer for over 10 years. I used them in 2004 and was happy w/ the work hence used them again. their price remains slightly on the high end, but their quality and performance are reliable. hence i decided to be a repeat client. the only weakness they have is slower than other competitors in returning phone calls.

My architect found a relatively new product, Qmotion shades, and also found this dealer/installer Blinds and Designs.I ordered at the end of May, expressly asking for a rush -- and selected a standard fabric which was supposed to be fastest lead time.They were supposed to complete half of the job in 3 weeks and the other half "approximately 2 weeks after." The first half was in fact installed 3 weeks after order. However one of the shades didn't work.Since then it's been another 5 weeks (not 2) and we're still waiting both for the repair on the first half of the job and for the completion of the second half of the job. It looks now like it's another 10 days out - so *if* the current schedule holds we will end up at a total of 10 weeks vs a schedule of 5. Also while the folks at Blinds and Designs were quick to follow up during the quoting phase, they have been very difficult to get hold of for the last several weeks. I'll update this review when the overall job is completed. RIght now I have to score low on quality because we have a non-working shade; if it gets repaired and works properly I'll upgrade that. Responsiveness I think is a lost cause.

David Farella is the owner of Blinds and Designs and he is excellent. They were very responsive. They figured out and knew the HOA requirements for my building. They were very professional and fixed the couple of things that needed to be fixed.

I had representatives from this showroom perform work for me, as well as representatives from other showroom, and have always been pleased by their professionalism and the final outcome.

Overall, it was excellent. My older home presented some difficulties, but they were able to address them as they've seen similar issues.

We made a special trip to their showroom on Saturday, August 25, and made an appointment for a single window shade estimate to be made on Tuesday, August 28. On Monday, August 27, we received a phone call canceling the appointment and, since they were busy at the moment, asking that they call us back in a few minutes to reschedule. A couple of hours later my husband called them, was told they were too busy to talk with him and would call back. It's been nearly three weeks and we've never heard from them again. Needless to say, we would not recommend Blinds and Designs.

Everything is beautiful and beyond expectations - great expectation.

Design effort was helpful and pleasant. Onside measurement and decision making. Installer marginally qualified. During installation and while I was out of town, received phone complaint from coop building management due to fabrication in hallway and dropped a tool during installation resulting in broken 9 foot window (which firm replaced without discussion). Due to poor initial installation, a second installation was made with only marginal improvement. Final resolution was that they could not do any better. Not a satisfactory answer to basic installation issues such as alignment of fascia pieces and sticking shades. Would seek other supplier with better installation capabilities and willingness to get it right

Did not have a good experience. Two shades were measured incorrectly, they were too narrow and you could see into my bedroom. My calls were never returned. I went into the show room once and spoke with the manager who declined to assist with the problem. He did give me temporary paper shades to fix the problem. I called four times until I reached Carl Dickinson who measured my windows. He came out again after two weeks of attempting to reach him. The shades are now replaced and they are the correct size, but I just realized the pull cord on one is very long and needs adjustment.

From start to finish it was just as they had told me. Very difficult job as shades had to be installed 20 feet up. Very happy with my motorized shades.
