Initially, Ken was very prompt and polite with an easy going manner. But that quickly proved to be a mirage. Ken is unresponsive when we call and we have been waiting for 6 weeks for our project to be completed. A few weeks - after the initial meeting - (he said it would take one week) he showed up at our house with an incomplete/very rough version of the dog door and said it was incomplete because his "roommate had shattered it" somehow. We believed him. He said he just wanted to show us the incomplete door and finish it the following. More than one month later, my husband said we needed the dog door - pronto - and Ken shows up with the dog door, much in its original state, except with a very sloppily applied coat of paint. He installed the roughly made door and left. When I arrived home, i said, "no way." Even if you squint, there is no way you can call this door finished. The putty that holds the windows in place is uneven and soft. in addition, you can see the unevenness from the other side of the window. The wood is very rough. It looks like a cartoon door next to the actual french doors we have. I called Ken immediately, who promised to call us with a date the next week to come fetch the door and complete the job. I have attached photos of the job so readers can judge, for themselves, the quality of the work. We've been waiting two weeks. At this point, I have no hope that he will complete the job. So if you want a handyman who will create more work for you, hire Ken. If not, hire a real professional.
Description of Work: * Custom-made a dog door that would fit into a sidelite. We have a french door with two french door sidelites. We needed to install a dog door in the sidelite and thought we'd just put a window on the top part (like a clear dutch door) for security. Ken's idea was to make the sidelite/dog door also look like a french door, but put a dog door in the bottom panel.* Patched a hole in the bedroom ceiling.
