Description of Work: I wanted a sewer video inspection which normally costs about $160 or more. Via Angie's list it was $99. The employee was timely, professional, and did his best to keep the place clean. The only negative was that they were supposed to come with inspection camera that would record the video. However he let me watch the entire process on a video monitor and he carefully explained everything along the way.

Description of Work: Actually did two jobs, one in February or March. The other in May. Both related to tree roots breaking the water line (first job) or blocking the sewer line (second job). Overall I thought all the work was done well. The first job was simpler and was done quickly and efficiently. | |The second job was big, complicated (from my point of view) and required coordinating a permit from the city (because a tree had to be removed) and the actual removal of the tree, with the plumbing work. All of that did not go quickly and I thought that perhaps APR could have been more aggressive in moving the permit process along. (Since the notice has to be posted on the tree for a month, a delay in getting the permit really drags things out). However I know the City is not really easy to push; so it is possible APR did their very best. But I had to call them to ask why it seemed like nothing was happening. I would probably have felt they were being more proactive if they had called me. When they did arrive for the job, they thought the tree was already gone; but it wasn't. It had just been cut down at the ground level, but the stump and offending roots were still there. APR managed to get the tree removers to come that morning to complete their part of the job. But that was another little organizational glitch. I doubt APR would have been able to finish the job in one day anyway. Late on the afternoon of the day they did finish the job I learned that they could not officially finish (which would mean another day off work for me) until a City inspector arrived to inspect the work. This was Friday afternoon and there was no way I could take more time off work the following Monday to wait for an inspector and completion of the job. Although I thought this was potentially avoidable (since APR clearly knew that an inspection was necessary at the end of the job and it seems could have planned accordingly), APR then moved mountains to get an inspector out that afternoon and were able to complete the job that Friday. And they were nice enough not to charge me for the additional "emergency inspection" fee. | |So overall I thought their work was of good quality and they were professional. Organizationally I thought it could have been smoother, but then coordinating the three parts would be challenging as they are not all under APR's control. I thought they were responsive but maybe could have been a little more proactive (at least in keeping me informed during the permit process). I would give them a B+/A- for price, since they are a little more expensive but gave me a break on the emergency fee. | |I didn't think any of these issues were that significant and I would use them again (and probably will very soon for another pipe issue). I also learned to be more proactive on my end to keep things moving and stay informed of any glitches.

Description of Work: Leaking water heater. Arrived on time. Could have told me I needed a new water heater. Instead, located a leaky pipe coming into water heater and replaced it.

Description of Work: My toilet was backing up repeatedly and I called Ace to look at it. They came out multiple times and tried different things each time but weren't able to fix it. They were very prompt and had great customer service and get very high marks for that. But ultimately were not able to fix the problem on multiple visits (I called another service and they fixed it on the first try.)

Description of Work: Called in to arrange appointment on Tuesday for the next day for shower drainage/backup problem. On Wednesday, after 30mins passed the scheduled time, I call in again to see whether they are sending someone. At that time the guy arrived and check on the situation. He told me it will cost $165 to snake the drain and got a medicine bottle from the drain out! Problem solved! Price is a bit on high side but now I can take shower again!

Description of Work: Plumber was scheduled to show up at noon, so I took the second half my day off only to be called and told he would not be there until 3pm. He arrived closer to 5pm, and after investigating the leaking handle and failing pump in our toilet said he would just leave it as it was if it was his house. Then complained that it was Friday night and had no intention of fixing either issue. It's been a month with no follow up call or explanation. I seriously question both the plumber's rating and Angie's list as a valid way to find a good vendor.

Description of Work: Ace plumbing showed up on time; he installed the toilet without problem and everything is working well. Only glitch was that he did not bring a hand-truck or other means by which to remove the old toilet. And, those older models are quite heavy. We are in a multi-level condo, so...that would have been handy for him. Luckily we had a hand-truck from a recent move. No harm, no foul. We had him do extra work for their "rack" price; also pleased with that installation as well (kitchen sink faucet).

Description of Work: I thought I needed a new toilet. When Ace came out to do the job they said it was just the flapper that needed replaced, they then replaced the flapper and stated their was no need for the new toilet.

Description of Work: Cut A Hole In the Wall to install shower. Did not repair hole in wall days later person came and look at hole charge too much left. I hire someone else for a much cheaper price. Also plumber did not cover bathroom toilet and destroy the toilet seat which he said he would replace but didn't and left the place dirty.
