Ace Plumbing & Rooter

Best part of the experience was that I called at 8 at night and was given the choice of fixing right away or waiting until the morning (for a cheaper price). When I said the morning was fine, they allowed me to choose a 1 hour time slot. The repairman explained why it kept occurring and I was able to do a workaround by supporting the pipe (cheap) rather than moving the drainpipe ($600+ job and it may not solve the problem). I asked him to just put the system back together - which cost me the standard service charge. He also gave me some estimates on some other work that I was thinking of having done (new water heater, etc.). Very high quality work, but I get the sense you do pay for it. They are not going to be the cheapest on the block, but you get what you pay for.

Two guys showed up to check a weak kitchen faucet pressure problem and a slow draining bathtub. They recommended replacing the kitchen sink head and recommended getting the tub snaked next time it was clogged badly (I had just cleared to a faster drain using a drano-like product). They didn't even charge me. Nice guys.

Sean Alvey showed up on time each day and quickly diagnosed the problem. He and an assistant did a good job fixing the leak by replacing very old pipe and salvaging (saving me money) the surrounding pipe. Good work at a reasonable but not cheap price. Very courteous and they cleaned up afterward.

Were quick, courteous, and neat. They were reasonably priced. Way below other competitors. Said they would be there between 1 or 2 and were there by 1:30.

Both toilets in my two-bathroom condo had stopped working. Joe from Ace Plumbing arrived promptly. He got one toilet working immediately, to my great relief! He had to shop for a part for the other toilet. He did so and got the second toilet working, all in less than an hour. Both toilets are working now better than they have in years. He left no mess behind for me to have to clean up, his fee was reasonable, and he accepted my American Express card in payment. Next time I need a plumber, I'll call Ace Plumbing and ask for Joe without hesitation.

After Mario spent about 45 seconds (maximum) fixing my disposal (really, just re-setting it, which I thought I had tried), he WOULDN'T CHARGE ME!!!! He said that I should avoid putting anything large into my disposal, and that if I would promise not to do that, and to call them for other plumbing needs, he would not charge me a cent. I mean, I expected that he would charge me the minimum for a service call, but it was pretty amazing to me that he would not charge at all.

We needed to get a pipe inspection done quickly, as we were getting sidewalk cement work done that week (i.e. we had a window of opportunity to fix the pipe if it needed work). Mario from Ace arrived promptly to give an estimate, and we set up an appointment for the next morning. He arrived right on time, set up the camera quickly, and then explained the details of what we were seeing in the pipe. He answered all our questions fully and fairly, explaining all the options, and didn't use pressure tactics (like I've seen from other plumbers in the past). We chose not to replace the pipe, but if we had decided to do so, we would use Ace without hesitation. We then asked if Mario could check a sink with a clog. He inspected it and found that there was an irregular pipe fixture that prevented an immediate fix of the clog, although he did fix a part of the sink with a leak. As before, he explained the options for what to do next well. Professional in every way - a great experience.

The job went fine. Paul seemed to be knowledgeable about the problem and I think he did a fine job. I would hire him again if needed. I'm not really sure if the price is a fair one since I haven't hired plumbers in the past. My husband always did the work himself.

Very pleased with the work. Company representative arrived earlier than scheduled time. Job turned out to be more difficult and time consuming than anticipated but the representative stuck with it until it was successfully completed. The only small complaint we have is that the post-job cleanup could have been better.

Joe, came out within the 1 hr. to give us a free estimate and attempt to find the problem. Couldn't find the leak, since nothing was overflowing. Suggested to check any running water/etc. Very nice/honest staff, would call them again for other plumbing work.

These guys were better than fabulous. They explained everything that was needed and why. They were great communicators and great workers, and even dealt with a difficult neighbor situation. They could not have been more diligent and concerned. Plus, their prices were extremely competitive - and they offered 10% off their already great pricing. I will NEVER use another plumber.

I called Jonathan Millington this morning. I explained the problem and he said he could have an estimator out between 4 and 5 this afternoon. Sean arrived shortly after 4. Friendly, knowledgeable I showed him the range job. He quoted me a price that seemed reasonable. He went out to his truck and brought in what he needed to do the job. I was so pleased with the job I started showing him other plumbing jobs around the house. It's 5:30pm and Sean left about twenty minutes ago. He automatically subtracted the 10% for Angie's List customers. I absolutely will have Ace back to do other work needed around the house.

They were great. I had a problem with the hot water in my shower not coming out with any pressure. I called that day and they were able to set up a same-day appointment after 5PM so that I didn't have to leave work early. They were prompt and immediately found the problem. It didn't require any work - they just opened the valve all the way and the water was flowing. They apologized for having to charge me anything at all, but explained that they have an $89 minimum for coming out (it was $80 with my Angie's List discount.) I had no problem with that at all - it was well worth it for the quick, friendly service. And my problem was fixed!

My house had sewer issues and I needed to replace the pipes under the sidewalk. Mario came and gave me an estimate for the work. He was very respectful and honest and suggested ways to get the most benefit from the project while doing the work needed (replacing more pipe to prevent later work being needed). After settling on a price (they matched a lower bid I had), there was a slight delay in starting the work due to a holiday and needing to get the pipe necessary, although we had been talking about the project for a couple days already. He came 1 hour late to start but the primary work was done in one day. They left the area tidy while we had to wait several additional days for the city inspector to come by. Once that was done, they poured the concrete and kept the area protected while it dried. He was always available and able to answer all my plumbing questions. Came by after the work was done to make sure I was happy with everything before having me sign the final paperwork.

Called the morning after a heavy rain and made it clear that it probably wasn't a priority as the drain did eventually empty. Nonetheless, they said they would be able to come over later that day. In fact, they called shortly thereafter and said they could come sooner if it was convenient. They were in and out in less than a 1/2 hour with the problem solved. I've used them many times before and will again.

The service from this company was astounding. Joe came by right on time, both visits. Although the ''proper'' way to fix a leaking tub is to go through the ceiling and replace the ancient pipes and washer, upon hearing that my ceiling is plaster and lathe, he suggested we try a quicker (though less perfect) method which would save me $1000 in re-plastering my ceiling. The work was done within 30 minutes, and the service was excellent at all times. I will not hesitate to call these guys again if I need plumbing assistance.

The appointment was available quickly, they showed up on time, assessed the problem, and did work quickly and as cleanly as possible. They came back to complete faucet installation after tiles had been repaired. They gave me the Angie's List 10% discount.

It went very well. They found the source of the immediate problem and removed it (grout from prior tile work). They gave me both options and recommendations;did the work well; were neat and polite.

I called in the evening and I actually got a live person who was able to schedule an appointment for the next morning. Joe arrived between 11 am and 12 pm like they said he would. Joe had a good sense of humor and was happy to answer our questions. He did the work quickly and was very honest about the problems. He even spoke with our landlord to explain the severity of the situation. We also had some new clients here while he was working and he was very quiet and respectful of that as he had to walk through the room we were in. Occasionally his humor was a little off, but he was kind, helpful, and did an excellent job!

They were very nice & tried to work with me on price to get done what I needed. I also felt they were honest & not trying to rip me off. Fair & nice people. Would use again.

Mario arrived on time and found the problem in less than 2 minutes. The line filter behind the faucet head was clogged with mineral deposits. We cleaned the filter and the faucet is working good as new again! Not only was the problem fixed quickly, he didn't charge me! Next time this happens I won't have to call a plumber, but I will definitely consider using Ace again for other plumbing problems and my bathroom remodel which I hope to do within the next year.

They were very responsive! We received letters stating that this work needs to be completed in a certain amount of time, and Ace Plumbing is very responsive with fitting me into their schedule!

They did the job one step at a time to be sure they only did what was needed. First they dug to find the sewer line and installed a clean out. Then they ran a camera to see what else was needed and wound up replacing the old Orangeberg sewer line and old clay sewer pipe. They took care of the permitting process and finished the job very thoroughly.

I was called by their office 3 hours before the scheduled appointment and asked if I minded an earlier service call. Two Techs arrived and gave me the option of snaking out the drain pipe or pressure clearing it. Costs were given for each and I chose the pressure cleaning. The work took 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes. They were friendly and answered all questions. They cleaned up after themselves and explained that their was a 6 month warranty. Very efficient and courteous.

I called Jonathan from Ace Plumbing this morning and he said he could send someone over today to fix my toilet plumbing problem. Jonathan was supposed to come to service the problem, but was running late, so asked one of his technicians who was in the area to come by instead. He also gave me an additional discount on top of the Angie's List discount to make up for being late. The Ace Plumbing technician was friendly and took care of the problem quickly. He made sure to explain to me what the problem was and what he did to fix it. He also gave me a tip that I could contact the water company and let them know about my problem so that they could issue me a credit for past water bills. If I ever have plumbing problems again (hopefully not!), I will be sure to contact Ace Plumbing again.
