Ace Plumbing & Rooter

After the frustration of dealing with an ineffective home warranty service, I decided to give Ace Plumbing a call regarding 2 toilets that had stopper problems as well as a leaky kitchen faucet. Right from the first phone call to the office, I was greeted professionally and courteously and the woman quickly took down all my relevant information and said she could send a technician out this afternoon. When I noted I had to be done at a certain time to pick up my daughter at school, she said would be sure to alert the technicians of that so they could be mindful of my time. The technician arrived promptly along with an assistant (I believe it was someone new to the company and being mentored) and quickly addressed all the problems and gave me an estimate. Both toilets were fixed and he made sure that I inspected the repairs to confirm they were working to my satisfaction. He then proceeded to fix my kitchen faucet leak and didn't even charge me for it as it was a small fix and they were here anyway. He recommended a few things for my low water pressure issue and said he would be happy to return to give me a more extensive and thorough inspection and estimate. All in all, it was a great experience - very professional, quick and courteous! I'm definitely using them again!

Went fine. Arrived on time. Analyzed the potential problem and determine the best course of action. Was also willing to take a look at a couple of other issues regarding incorrectly installed plumbing fixtures.

The person who came to do the work for us was very efficient. He was great. He was very friendly. He spoke to us to the point and explained things to us. We understood exactly what we were in for. They cleaned up after themselves. I would use their services in the future also.

Just excellent. From start to finish the staff on the phone and in person were polite, intelligent, good at their job. The plumber on route was delayed, so he phoned in advance of his scheduled time to let us know, and then arrived with 5mins of the new time. He was straight forward, clean, and did a good job. I could have missed the lecture about how to avoid blocking a toilet at the end - but he did that nicely too.

We were very satisfied! It went well.

Some new piping had to be picked up, as the new garbage disposal was larger than the old, so the time and price were a bit higher.

This company is very responsive - and excellent at communication. I called them on a Saturday afternoon, and the serviceman arrived within two hours. It took him a very short time to thoroughly assess the situation (even to the point of taking a look at our roof - which had just been resurfaced). He said he'd have to come back on Monday - giving us an estimate and the appointment right there. He returned and did the work promised - for the price estimated. He also did a video inspection for a future project at that time. He was organized, pleasant, and did everything he could to set us up for the necessary future work (with no pressure to use his company). We do plan on using them again in the very near future.

They are professional and competent. They are always willing to thoroughly explain to me what they are doing, and I’ve been pleased with their service.

I first called another large plumbing company that came out and told me I needed to replace the toilet at a cost of $775 and also needed to replace the drain pipe serving the toilet. Getting both things done would cost $3800 and take one day or work. I then called ACE Plumbing and they told me I really only should replace the very old toilet at a cost of $500. No need to replace the drain pipe. They came back the next day and replaced the toilet in less than an hour. They also informed me I might be eligible for a SFPUC rebate since I was replacing an old water guzzling toilet with a much more water efficient model. They left the necessary documents for me to apply for the rebate. I would definitely use ACE Plumbing again.

Plumber was very punctual. Gave me an immediate estimate of costs and performed all the work very efficiently.

Technician was very prompt and professional, but the quote was 50% higher than I expected: $1700(!) vs ~$1100. I went with a different plumber, also highly rated - will report on that experience when it's complete.

I don't remember what the price was but he only charged me for a half an hour. From the small experience I had with him he was very nice, professional and cool. He got out here really quick and right on time. I have his card in my file for future use.

Called them the morning after a big storm. Expected them to be busy - but they agreed to come over that day. Actually called back later and said could come sooner if it were convenient. In the end, they were in and out in less than a 1/2 hour with the problem solved. I've used them many times before and will again.

They were right on time and very efficient. I was disappointed that he couldn't repair it but it was a closed box device and not surprising. He was able to get the part and install it in two hours. I didn't have to go to the store or order anything. He made it work and was done very quickly. The part he charged for replacement part was the price I would expect to pay at a home repair store.

Good experience, even though they had to refer me to an appliance specialist to finish the job. Someone at Ace answered the phone each time I called, and called me back when they said they would ('A' for responsiveness). They scheduled an appointment same day, but were almost an hour late ('C' for punctuality). Ultimately, because the guy who came to my house said he could not fix the issue, he said there was no charge ('A' for price). Pleasant surprise...so I tipped him anyway. A free estimate is hard to find among plumbers. I would definitely call Ace back for future plumbing issues.

He established that it was from the dishwasher. However he wasn't able to move the dishwasher but didn't charge us for the service call.

We worked with Sean who has become "my" plumber from Ace. This was perhaps his 3rd or 4th plumbing job at our house. He declared one toilet too old (in our garage, rarely used and is from the 1940's) and we have decided to just stop using this for now instead of replacing it. As for the other two: he quickly replaced the needed part on the newer one and it now works fine. (This is a toilet that Sean installed about 5 years ago.) The other, about 25 years old, needed a part that he got, but because of a rough edge, it didn't solve the problem. Sean ordered another part and came back to install it when it came in. This one did the trick. I couldn't be happier with the responsiveness of the company and the way in which I now work with one plumber from them. I originally found them on Angie's List and will certainly stick with them.

See above. I'm very happy with my experience with this firm. They made what could have been a real hassle as painless as possible under the circumstances.

I called, made apointment-the men came within alotted time, performed work within the estimate and left job site clean. From start to finish, men were prompt, courteous, efficient and professional.

They were good and creative guys. Everything went well. They answered our questions.

Excellent. I tried call my regular plumbers but they would not return my phone call. I looked on Angie's list and saw ACE and gave them a ring. They answered promptly, professionally and worked around my schedule so I did not have to take time off work. I was quite impressed and plan on using them again for any future needs.

The young man was pretty good actually. I liked him. He was very knowledgeable, polite and honest. When everybody else was asking for $400 or $500 to do something, he did it for about $125. The others were intending to use tools like a camera for the job but I felt that that was unnecessary. The work that he did has been good so far. I think I gave him a $20 tip because I liked him so much. I would rate him highly and would use him in the future if necessary.

Company replaced outdated drainpipe, which apparently solved problem. Later that day, the pipe clogged again, and the company came back and unclogged again.

Everything was fine. He explained everything and worked quickly.

They were prompt, gave a competitive bid, did the job well and left the bathroom clean.
