Ace Plumbing & Rooter

They dealt courteously with a difficult tenant. They did the work through the crawlspace saving us the cost of cutting a hole in the side of the lower part of the house which would have provided more comfortable access. The repair stretched out a bit because of delays by the decontamination company. They informed us of the costs which were about twice the original estimate, but the amount of work that needed to be done was also more than initially appreciated.

The service was great! We got everything taken care of the same day. The service was affordable, prompt, efficient and excellent. There aren't enough words to express the great service that we received. Thanks Ace!

I called ACE to increase my water pressure in my bathtub/shower. Turns out that the plumber just needed to turn a knob behind the bathtub faucet. This was surprising since I had Atlas plumbing out before and they suggested replacing a bunch of stuff. So for future plumbing problems, I will call ACE and I will not call ATLAS.

I have actually used this company twice. On this occasion, I had a broken bathroom faucet. The plumber arrived a few minutes before schedule, opened up the faucet and found the broken part. He had to go to the warehouse as this was not a common brand, so he did that and was back within an hour. He then fixed the part, I paid him and he left. The first time I needed a city-required inspection on our hydronic heating system. I don't remember exactly how much that was, but it was in the same range as above. The firm provided a licensed inspector who came out, did his inspection, and filed the paperwork with the city. Everything was on time, no fuss, no bother. The only reason I didn't give them an A on price is I don't know if there are less expensive plumbers out there. But I don't care that much to save a few bucks if I would have to give up on their responsiveness and punctuality. And additional kudos to the very nice lady who answered the phone both times that I called. Even though there were several weeks between the two calls, she recognized my voice. In any case, she was very helpful about scheduling times that worked for me.

Everything went smoothly. Service was professional and friendly.

I came home from work one afternoon and was surprised to find my kitchen smelling slightly of gas. I figured out that the shutoff valve to my range was leaking and called Ace Plumbing and Rooter. Kevin showed up within an hour to assess the problem. It was early evening by this time and he did not have the exact part to fix the problem at the time. He advised me about shutting off the gas in my house and we arranged for him to come back the following day. It is very difficult for me to take time off of work and he was more than willing to accommodate my schedule. The next day he returned at the agreed upon time and replaced the valve. In addition, he took the time to explain to me what he was doing so I could do a similar repair myself in the future. When Kevin came to my house to clear my blocked main sewer line, he showed up on time, remembered me from the first time he did some work at my house and then he rootered the sewer line. When this did not work he did some plunging at the P trap in the sewer vent out in my sidewalk. This cleared the blockage. The cost for rootering the line was more than the plunging, but he very honestly charged me just for the plunging as this was what solved the problem. Just like the first time he came to my house, I was impressed with his professionalism and his honesty. He's also just a really nice guy. Most recently, I called Ace Plumbing and Rooter and asked specifically for Kevin because I needed advice about the main water line into my house. The city required that I replace the sidewalk in front of my house, and in the process of doing this, the main water line to my house was exposed. This was due to the fact that it had not been installed deep enough. Kevin showed up within an hour to tell me what he thought--his ability to get to my house so quickly relieved an incredible amount of stress since the concrete was due to be poured the next day. He gave me an estimate to replace the pipe from the meter to my house, but then also explained what I could do to safely fix it at minimal cost--there was room to dig below the water line and bury it sufficiently. He could easily have told me that it needed to be replaced in order to make some money, but instead he gave me his honest opinion and saved me a ton of money. It is for this reason I'm writing this Angie's list review. Kevin has done great work for me in the past, but that I can trust him is what is most valuable about his service. I know that he's doing work that needs to be done at an honest price. If I have another plumbing problem (fingers crossed), I will only call Kevin at Ace Plumbing and Rooter.

Prompt, friendly, professional, excellent service, and will definitely use again as further plumbing issues arise.

Shower drain plugged. They came, cleaned out a secondary back-flow preventer (didn't know this existed) and solved the problem without having to snake the line. Could have made a costly production out of it but instead got the job done quick (and cheap!).

At this most recent visit he reported at the scheduled hour, withstood the overly affectionate greeting from the family dog, quickly sized up the nature of the 2 difficulties at issue (an unhinged faucet in kitchen sink, and a sluggish drain in bathtub) and remedied them decisively without need to "go looking for parts"; instead, he assured me that no replacements were needed and that the functional defects had been addressed, and no payment was necessary. I must add that Kevin tolerated the overly affectionate attention showered on him by the family dog – attention that could have, but didn’t, interfere with his performance!

As noted above, very prompt, professional, and helpful.

Excellent service, major job. Sewer backed up in basement, they arrived the day we called, even tho it was a weekend. Very thorough explanation of what needed to be done, and final price came in at exactly the estimate, even tho they had to excavate line from street INTO our house! "Joe the Plumber" was courteous and prompt, and showed us with the video exactly what the problem was. (We knew it would happen eventually, as the house was built in 1903!) We will definitely call them next time, although we hope that won't be too soon! They left a tiny mess of dirt and concrete, but nothing major considering the job.

They took a check from me, which they said they would give me some of it back. I made out the check to him and it was supposed to be sent to the water bureau and the water bureau did not know anything about the check. I would like to get my money back from them and use another plumbing company. They are aware of the problem and they aren't doing anything about it. They keep saying they will do something about it but they keep postponing the responses and the results.

Great - Ace has been doing work for us for years. I will continue using them for anything that comes up.

We used them because they had a lot of high reviews on Angie's List. They have good communication. They were very responsive and on time. The price was reasonable.

The existing gas pipe came up through the floor exactly where the new range needed to sit. The pipe had to be moved to give clearance behind the range so that it rest right up against the wall. Enrique of Ace Plumbing was very creative in finding a solution that got the pipe out of the way and allowed for the required shutoff valve in an adjacent cabinet. He also examined the under-sink area and created a plan for the future installation of new disposal, sink and water filters. All of the work was beautifully done and the area was cleaned up afterward.

It all went great. Fully explained all steps. Charged a fair (sometimes seems low) price, and were fast in and out.

Arrived on time, dealt with the issue thoroughly and left the place looking tidy afterwards.

They were great. They had a camera that exactly worked. They were very efficient.

The bathtub faucet was blocked and then it was secreting little black flecks in the water. They came. Figured it out and fixed it for a reasonable price.

Kevin, came and did the work and returned a few days later to check out the kitchen garbage disposal unit.

The installer arrived. He evaluated our 4 projects (moving water line, moving gas line, replacing shower valves)

Late on a Friday night my shower clogged and water began dripping out of several spots from the ceiling in my entry hall. I was able to unclog the shower but the water continued to drip during the night. I called Ace at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning and they were able to have someone at my house before 9:00 am. Kevin Brantigan was able to figure out that the problem was a piece of missing grout just above shower floor that wasn't a problem until the drain clogged and the water rose and was able to flood in. It was a minor fix that I was able to take care of on my own. I had only moved into the house a few months ago and had a list of things that needed to be fixed or looked at so I made an appointment to have everything checked. The house is almost 100 years old so I wanted to be thorough. Some problems were very minor such as loose faucets, leaky shower heads and sticky valves but I also wanted to have water heater drained and flushed. Another thing on the list was a suggestion that I have my sewer line checked for cracks and I was able to see that there was a problem. Kevin was able to show me what was going on as he ran the camera down the sewer line and explained to me exactly what would have to be done. They were able to repair the line the next day. The disruption to my lawn was minimal and they cleaned up beautifully. They were prompt, professional, helpful, informative and now I have the peace of mind that all the plumbing in my house is in great shape. The next time I need a plumber they're the ones I'm going to call and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I was impressed that they were very quick and responded quickly to my inquiry, they came within one day of my call. The only downside is that another plumber told me that the pipe didn't need to be replaced and ACE gave me a quote solely for replacing the pipe, instead of telling me the pipe didn't need to be replaced.

We were in quite a predicament -- toilets backing up and a terrible smell coming from under the house, and Ace Plumbing and Rooter was here within an hour to help us. Overall, it couldn't have gone better. We are extremely satisfied and grateful for their dedication and honest work ethic. Everything is working and our home smells so good. We are very pleased.
