Ace Plumbing & Rooter

We had a very nasty drain issue that Ace handled perfectly. They came out and tried to fix it. They couldn't break through the clog so they brought another smaller snake. They also disconnected some bidet seats that we didn't want. They were on-time, very professional, and explained everything thoroughly. I'll definitely use them again.

I am writing this review with reluctance.... I had ACE install a new on-demand water heater and remove my old water heater, replace gas pipes to all of my appliances (exterior installation) which all ended up being of high quality. The plumber that did this installation was professional and on-time, explained the work in detail, and overall my experience was quite positive. The second part of my project was to have my kitchen sink moved about 1 foot, so it required also moving the drain pipe and the water supply lines. I was out of town that day and returned 2 days later to discover that after moving these pipes, the plumber did not place a cap on the end of the drain pipe. I live on the bottom floor of a 3 story condo complex, so all of the water from upstairs neighbors kitchen sink, dishwasher and washing machine dumped into my apartment. When I arrived home I discovered 2 inches of water covering my original hardwood floors, ruining my kitchen, living room, entry way and hallway floors. The water also drained down my heat exchange vent to the basement, flooding my HVAC system and the basement below. Since the kitchen was under renovation much of my contractors equipment, sheet rock, and building material was also effected. I contacted the plumbing company immediately and they sent out a different plumber who did not have an explanation as to why the original plumber did not cap the drain pipe. I sustained over $10,000 worth of damage to my property and ACE did not take responsibility for any of this. My insurance was able to reimburse me for most, but I still had to pay my $3000 deductible so in the end I was left owing money. The claim is currently in subrogation but thus far they are unwilling to reimburse me. I feel conflicted because the company came highly recommended and I truly did like my plumber; I believe this was an accident and I have no ill will towards the plumber. BUT I do feel that ACE (who is insured and bonded) should take responsibility and pay me my $3000 deductible. I plan to take them to small claims court in the next 2 months if my insurance company is unable to reclaim my $3000. ACE for the most part does good work, but if something is to go wrong, be aware that they will not stand behind their work.

Communication: excellent! Courteous staff and owner, very professional, it didn't sound like sales talk. Straight forward and worked with our budget and priority. I barely knew anything about plumbing, I felt that I was given information but not talked down to for not knowing anything about pipes, for that my husband and i are really thankful. Price: right on the budget Service: timely manner. Crew: Aj was very knowledgeable. He wasn't hesitant to take the job when another company refused to even look if theres any problem (involved lifting the toilet) to look at the main pipe. He was easy to talk to. Result: no problems to date, so it seems great!

It was a great service. I had gotten a lot of really high estimates so I just had this stove sticking out in my kitchen. I finally called this company, they came out, and were willing to do the work right then and there. Which was really surprising to me. They gave me the cheapest price and did it right then. Very impressed, the service was good as far as I could tell.

Hit the water main with an auger trying to set a post. They were quick and did the work in a great manner. Omar was definitely courteous and took the time to estimate and explain all the work involved. I have already called him to get a quote for some other work and will getting him to take care of it when I can afford it.

Mike was super professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. He came for an estimate and didn't flinch when we said that we had another coming by for a quote and we'd call him. When the other plumber cancelled we called Ace back and Mike picked up the part and came back in a couple of hours. He installed the valve quickly and safely. We appreciated his expertise and will most certainly call him again for more work.

Our shower drain backed up at the most inopportune time, as always: the Sunday after Thanksgiving, with house guests in residence. I called Ace about 2:30 and was able to secure a 6:00 appointment. Philip arrived exactly on time and had the drain cleaned in record time. I was cheerfully given the Angie's List discount. It was, altogether, as good an experience as one can have with a clogged drain! I give them my highest recommendation.

I called ACE at 06:45 am the day after Thanksgiving, and the dispatcher picked up on the first ring. I was impressed that he was familiar with us from our first service call a few days earlier on another matter. Despite being "Black Friday" and a skeleton staff on, Omar was at our place in early afternoon. He quickly diagnosed the need to de-pressurize the upstream line to enable the seismic valve to be reset, and got our gas service restored. We then walked through water supply from city supply through to tap, and determined that the water volume issue was caused by several factors including metal/solder debris in the faucet aerators (quickly remedied), and also an old and undersized supply line tie-ing into the street supply (not so quickly remedied). Omar provided a ballpark estimate to install a new larger supply line, which is a fairly significant job (involving cutting through the sidewalk and excavating to install a new line, a permit, etc) in the event we wish to proceed in future to further improve flow volume to the upper unit. He also provided me with a good orientation to the overall plumbing configuration and issues/opportunities of our new (to us) but very old 1895 construction home. The rapid response, quick resolution, and plumbing orientation were all greatly appreciated, and at a very fair and reasonable cost.

It was fine. They showed up on time and were polite. We didn't think the work would be as extensive as it turned out to be, but I am really glad we took his advice because otherwise, we would end up having to do it a little bit down the road. They were informative and they were very quick once the decision was made.

Mike arrived from ACE on time, and I sheepishly advised him that I had received bad advice, and that the cutoff valves were not required. He had a look and confirmed that I was correct. Since it was not ACE's fault, I suggested that I should still pay something for the call-out. Mike graciously indicated that there would be no charge at all, and that I should request a full refund via Angie's List, which I have now initiated. Since I was also interested in potential plumbing services for other aspects of the property , Mike did a walk-thru of the entire unit with me, and offered observations and comments/recommendations as we went. Where I had some specific questions about bathroom and laundry spacing and service access, Mike answered those he could. Where more specific info was required of code details, he took pictures and arranged for further followup with one of his colleagues who had more specialized background in those areas. Mike was friendly, patient, and personable; and represented ACE well. Based upon this experience ACE will be our preferred provider for all our future plumbing needs.

I thought they were fine and there was nothing that I disliked about them. They were really friendly, it's just I was with a different plumber before and ended up staying with them. They were really good, but we just didn't end up using them.

Installer had to recut the pipe three times after ragged breaks of the etched joint. Finished pipe is not parallel with the pipe it is joined to.

They were extremely nice, and timely.

They were fine. I only had a tiny little thing to be done and it only took them a tiny bit of time. It was just lovely to deal with them. I think their price was normal or better than normal for the area. I just used them for about ten minutes but it was worth it to me. The technician, Jim, was very nice and he didn’t make a mess. The job was so simple so it's hard to test them.

Water was backing up in our laundry room - the pipe is the same as connected with our kitchen sink, so whenever the kitchen sink was used, the water would backup into the laundry pipe. There was a major clog in the pipework for which we couldn't fix ourselves. We contacted Ace early in the morning, and they were able to send some really quickly (within the morning). About an hour later the technician was able to clear the clog and we had a free flowing pipe again. Very professional, quick, and responsive.

Monty came out. He was outstanding, honest & capable. He fixed the problem with the correct tool in two minutes & didn't charge me at all. He acted very professionally. If I need anymore plumbing I'll call him immediately.

Kevin is just great and came out 3 times. He was very friendly and I did not feel rushed. He was professional and on time. I will continue using them in the future.

I had house water backing up out of an external drain on my sewer line, gave Ace a call on Saturday noon. Described my situation, got an appointment for a visit 3:30 the same day. Later on I got a call asking if I was available for an earlier visit since there was a tech who could be there earlier so in the end I got a visit only about 2 hours after my initial phone call. Mike comes by, hears my story and takes a look, opens the sewer cleanout which shows clear evidence of a clog (I'll spare you the details). Anyway, he fires up the power snake, clears the clog, flushes it out, checks that waste water runs smoothly from the house and we're good to go. Mike was prompt, friendly, clear in his observations about the layout and possible state of my sewer (house is nearly 100 yrs old and there's no apparent sewer vent on the sidewalk) and the next steps if the problem returns.

I had an appointment scheudeld at 3:30 during the wqork week to meet the tech to camera our sewer lateral and was called at 3pm by the dispatch to tell me that the tech did not have the equipment with him and they would have to reschedule. Since I had already left work, I was dissapointed and told them to forget it. Kevin still showed up after hours, performed the camera inspection free of charge and was apologetic and curtious. Too bad the dispather wasn't as professional as Kevin. They definately made up for what I thought was pretty unprofessional service and a lack of respect for the customer's time.

They came on time, did excellent work, and were reasonably priced. They even gave me a free estimate.
