of 3 workers there was 1 worker in my apartment, and 2 in the truck for the first 8 hours. it was a 13 hour move from a 900 sq. foot apartment of 1 adult and 3 children under age 5. really.... how much more wrong could they be?
Description of Work: break decor by dropping mixed belongings every direction. yet spent the time and materials for wrapping and properly packing empty food jars (dispensible). charged me $480 for extra boxes, there were only 12!!!!!!.

We followed up with this customer and spoke with her the day after the move. She conveyed that she felt the move took longer than she expected, but seemed otherwise okay and acknowledged that she had more stuff than she thought. After this review was posted, we tried calling the customer twice to see what we could do to work things out, but have not gotten a response. The customer has not filed a claim with us for any broken items. In looking at the contract, the materials costs is significantly less than the $480 mentioned here and the materials used significantly more than 12 boxes. There seems to be a disconnect with the information we have and the experience in this review. We would look forward to resolving issues with her.

Lets Move It Right provided an excellent service. Lived up to their name. The crew arrived on time, worked efficiently, was very co-operative, responsive and professional. They ensured all furniture was wrapped appropriately, they helped packed remaining loose stuff, loaded the truck carefully. During unloading, they graciously asked where we wanted boxes to go and moved them accordingly. All in all, very good service. We are highly satisfied and would definitely recommend to friends.

This company was very patient with me, I rescheduled several times, quite frankly, I must have been a nightmare, but they were very accommodating, and couldn't have been any nicer. Not having any experience with moving, I was a little surprised by the a la carte pricing, extra for each glass shelving, extra for 2 trips ( move was made less than a mile). So there were a few things I opted not to move because it was going to cost extra. I was given the impression that we had, the purchased, 4 hours worth of work loaded on the truck, so I left a few more things behind. They were finished In a little over 2 hours. All in all, they did a good job. I was not as prepared to move as I should have been, and that is on me, not them. They did a good job in moving my things, there were no problems, everything was left in perfect shape, and they worked very hard

It's was excellent! They were actually 5 min. early, even though they said they'd need a window of time just in case. Tom was quick to respond to my inquiries and helped walk me through purchasing coupons and scheduling since this was my first time using Angie's List. He let me know up front what extra fees may apply (e.g., if we go over the 4 hours from the coupon). They also prorate the hourly charge, which is great so you don't end up paying the full hour if you only needed 15-30 min. extra. They team of movers was fantastic! The lead was Ergon (I think), who was really friendly and even took the time to smile and wave at our baby who was excited by the new people. Pros: + Responsive and professional + Fast (it surprised us how fast they were able to unpack) + Attention to detail - They let us know of damages before they touched anything (some that I realize happened from the last moving company). They also graciously asked where we wanted boxed and moved all boxes to the appropriate labeled rooms. They were extra careful with our items and provided extra padding where they thought necessary. + Flexible. They didn't seem rushed or agitated even though our move took over an hour longer than expected. They also were quick to help finish packing a few loose end items, even though we hadn't requested packing assistance (but were unfortunately not finished in time). Cons: - That I hadn't found them earlier to avoid the lost and broken items from the last moving company we used!
Description of Work: Purchased $400 for 3 movers, truck and 4 hours from Angie's List, plus additional time and supplies for move from a 3 bed/2 ba apartment to a 3 bd/2 ba house 15 min. away.

It was amazing! They did a phenomenal job. They stayed extra late. They stuck around while we put everything in the right spot. They were extremely professional. They were very helpful. They were so patient with me while I changed my mind on where things went. They had a great attitude. They were great with our kids too. They were very clean and quiet. It was late at night by the time they finished up. Overall, they were fantastic.

They were terrific. In fact, we were concerned about moving the very large TV (approx. 59" tall, 60" wide, 24" deep). The movers were able to get it in to the elevator and up to the 3rd floor with a little creative manipulation. They were very quick and helpful and tried to make this as painless and expeditious as possible. We will definitely use them again. In fact, we already have referred them twice.
Description of Work: Moved boxes and some furniture from one location, picked up a couch and chair from a second location, and delivered all to the destination point.

I searched for then reviewed in detail several moving companies here on Angie's List and carefully weighed all the good and bad reviews to select the company that was going to move us. I sent out the same message to 4 companies stating I had a 1600sqft Town Home that was already all boxed up and need to move 1/2 mile down the street in the same basic neighborhood. I selected "Let's Move It Right" as they seemed to be the most responsive in my initial communication and offered a discount deal here on Angie's List. I did have one rather special item that needed a little more attention and planning.... a medium sized gun safe weighing about 400lbs. They advised they had moved items like this before and it wouldn't be a problem as long as it was garage to garage, and it was. It's worth mentioning that I got absurd quotes from several other companies as soon as I mentioned "safe". Even though this safe has been moved a couple of times by regular movers and once by me and 2 of my friends it was like saying I had something radioactive to some movers. * The initial quotes I got back were all over the place. I had one company here on the list quote me $1500 - $1600 and get snippy when I asked how they justified that when the place was already boxed up. After choosing Let's Move It Right I purchased the $400 for 3 guys and truck for 4 hours. The hourly rate was $110 per hour after that. I figured we would go over the 4 hours but felt the hourly rate was more than reasonable. The scheduled time was 10am - 11am and they did email and also call to confirm. They called back the next day and asked if they could come an hour earlier and we said that would be fine. They then called the day of the move and indicated they would be much closer to the original time as there was some issue with the previous move that held them up. Normally I would be less than happy about changing schedules but in this case I really appreciated the ongoing communication and can certainly understand that unforeseen things can happen with movers. They showed up within the adjusted time window and did a quick walk through of the house (1600 sqft) to get a grip on what was going and where. The guys were experienced and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. There was a little bi tof initial confusion because the paperwork they got from their dispatch didn't indicate I had pre-purchased the 4 hours but a quick call to their boss cleared that up in a couple of minutes. After a 10 minutes walk through and some notes from me they were off and running. They really jumping into action and hustled. My wife stayed to "supervise" and answer any questions and I was able to go to costco and pick up some things for the new place. I came back about 2 hours later and was very pleasantly surprised to see that they were right where I would have expected if they really hustled. I was impressed. All in all it took them about 3 hours to fully load and drive to the new place. They took almost another 3 hours to unload. The only additional charges were for the rolls of tape they used. It was $18 in total. The blankets and plastic wrap were included in the price. They didn't stop for breaks or ask about them so I went and bought them lunch and had them stop for 20 minutes (off the clock) and eat and take a breather. They were very careful with everything and aside from a couple of very small bumps into a corner here and there everything went really smooth. All and all I was very happy with everything and would recommend them to other and would use them again.
Description of Work: We had already boxed up most everything and had it staged in our garage. They came with a 3 man crew and loaded up all the boxes, our larger items such as mattresses, bed frames, etc.. and moved them to our new home. They unloaded everything where we wanted.

First, let me start off by saying I'm very happy with my services from Let's move it right. Although it ended up costing me more than I wanted, I knew this was going to happen and I do think the price was fair. I purchased a deal for a 3 man crew for 4 hours... after talking with Tom (owner?) and explaining what I wanted moved, it made more sense to go with a 4 person crew, understanding that I'd have to pay the standard rate beyond the 4 hours. Most of my belongings were packed up and ready to go but it still took all day to finish the job. The old house - The crew arrived on time and was ready to go. I gave them the tour and they didn't hesitate to get started. Before starting, the wood floors were covered and any glass items (doors, figures, etc.) were put aside so they wouldn't get damaged. Any furniture that I didn't get a chance to disassemble or wrap up, they took care of. Any loose items, they also took care of. They took the front door off to help move some of the larger furniture out. All furniture was thoroughly taped and wrapped to prevent damage during the move. The new house - I gave the crew another tour and they set off to get the job done. The new house had been remodeled so everything was new, clean, scratch free, etc. The crew covered the floors with paper and blankets in some places. The front door was again removed to fit some of the larger furniture. The new house had a narrow staircase that turned 180 to get to the 2nd floor... the crew had no problem maneuvering the furniture up the stairs. I was sure there would be some issues there but they assured me it wouldn't be a problem and in fact they had the furniture up there before I knew it. There was one problem though... the crew scratched the new wood floors, in a place that is not easy to fix, and did not inform me about it although I was sure I heard them talking about scratching something later in the day. Accidents happen, I understand that, but I was disappointed that the crew didn't share this with me before they left. The repair - The floor was scratched (gouged actually) very badly right in the middle of the room... there is no good way to fix it, you'd have to remove half of the floor to get to this area. I have 3 kids and knew the floors would get scratched eventually, but this was probably worse than they would do anytime soon. Tom arranged to have it fixed right away... the repair was done with epoxy with custom stain matching. They did a much better job than I could have, but you can still see the area that is damaged. Its unfortunate that this happened because everything else went fine... I think I'm more disappointed that the crew didn't own up to this before they left but Tom was very professional about this and had it fixed right away. Considerations - - The deal comes with the crew, a big truck, and blanks... all other materials are extra. Don't stress about the extra tape or plastic they're using... let them do their job, they move fast and you want it over with quickly even if those materials cost you a little more. - Schedule a morning appointment... this way, if the job takes longer, they work during the day and not late at night. This also ensures that you don't get rescheduled if you're the afternoon appointment and their morning appointment runs long. - Pack as much as you can before the movers arrive... they move quickly and you won't be able to keep up. - if you have really heavy items to move (like a spa, as I did), talk with Tom first. They'll most likely recommend 4 guys instead of 2 or 3. The extra guys help the rest of the move go faster anyway so its a win win in my opinion. - make sure fragile items and nice furniture are properly wrapped... if you don't do this, they will, and they will probably use a lot of tape and plastic to get it done. I let them handle this because it reduced my chances of damaged furniture and couldn't be happier with that decision. Conclusion - The move took longer than expected, but lets face it, we all have more stuff than we think we do. They focused on keeping the truck packed as tightly as possible, to avoid additional trips later in the day, but we still ended up doing one last trip for some items in the garage and the spa. They were very easy to work with... punctual, no negative attitudes, and relatively easy to talk to given the language difference. I'm disappointed with the one area of damage, but thinking back they were able to move all of my belongings with really only this one accident... none of the furniture was damaged, scratched, etc. Overall, I'm very satisfied with their service and highly recommend them to others.

My only critique is that I wish they had business cards for me to keep for recommendation and referral.
Description of Work: They were friendly, professional and very efficient. My move to a second floor office had no elevator, but the crew did a great job caring for my belongings and furniture while going up the two flights of stairs, despite the 90 degree temperature. They finished earlier than estimated and I could not be happier.

Great guys and Tom at the office checked in to see how things were going.

Not only did it go well, but I give the Let's Move It Right team extra points and a big gold star for accommodating our 11th-hour request and making our unique circumstances work. My husband was being released from the hospital, and due to a recent flood in his home, was unable to return to the house which is undergoing extensive repairs. The opening at the Senior Community came up at the right time, and this firm made the California move happen...with direction from me all the way back east in New Jersey! I couldn't be more satisfied with their service.
Description of Work: Tom and his team from Let's Move It Right went to my ex-husband's home, collected designated furniture and personal belongings and brought them to the Senior Community into which he was moving, delivering everything on time and well within budget.

I thought they were really great! They completed the job in about four hours. Their services were worth the money. They arrived early and were professional. They provided two guys that did the work of four men and they were fantastic! They were fast, efficient, and nothing was broken. If I ever move again, they are definitely my movers.

Company refused to come and see the job or provide other than an oral estimate (I know, my fault). Showed up late (both days). Packed sloppily, with boxes confusingly labeled. Brought truck which was too small, requiring us to wait for hours for another truck to come, for which of course they charged us extra. Charged us for items not previously agreed on (such as double time for when the trucks were in transit) and for hours before they arrived and while they were having lunch and waiting for the extra truck. Scratched our floors moving furniture in.

Response from Let's Move It Right
We are sorry to hear of this customer's concerns with his move. We understand that moving is a stressful time and strive to make moves go as smooth as possible. This was a customer who was referred to us - we get much business this way as well as through return customers - and these are jobs we value. Over the phone we explained how we charge for local moves: an hourly rate, with a fuel surcharge and that packing materials are charged as used. The customer did not ask for an on-site estimate. We give on-site estimates all the time would have been happy to offer one. No such request was made and the job was booked over the phone. Double drive time was explained to the customer, which was minimal as the distance between the pickup and delivery address was 5.84 miles. Double drive time is a state law and is clearly spelled out on the contract which the customer signed. The trucks that we used are the standard size for local moving. As soon as it became clear that the shipment wouldn't fit into one truck, we sent another. We don't request any deposits. We charge only once the move is complete. The customer's claim of the rate he was quoted is not accurate and is not the rate on the contract that he signed both before and after the move. The California Public Utilities Commission offers a generous window of nine months following a move for a customer to file a claim with a moving company. Again, this is quite clear on the contract. We have a very prompt and responsible claims dept. and take claims seriously. However, the CPUC is unambiguous in this nine month time frame and the first time we heard about any issues the customer had with this move was almost eleven months after the move was completed. The numbers being issued by the customer in this complaint are not the ones he agreed to and do not correlate to the completed, binding contract he signed. Moreover, his timing on filing a claim for this move is not only puzzling but at odds with the law. After a serious review of the specifics of this move, we don't feel we did anything wrong. We charged the customer in the manner that we told the customer he was going to be charged. We finished the job as we promised we would. Tom Franck-Sales Manager
