I spent $90,000 on a new custom gate for my house. Installation was great but a couple of things happened after installation that made me really regret working with Celtic Gates. After they installed the gate, it continually broke down. It would randomly not close and I would have to consistently manually close the gate. Anytime I would reach out to Martin & Celtic to fix it they would ignore my calls and not look into it. I ended up couple other gate people to get an opinion and they where shocked how Martin & team installed it. It was installed very poor, the gate motor FAAC is not commonly used for gates and appeared to be a refurbished/used one even though I paid for a new one. The motherboard malfunctioned, the gate weight compared to the support the motor gave was not right. I ended up spending 12k to fix this by replacing it. The city sent me a notice that the gate was not up to code and that Martin & team never had the proper permits to install it. I was under the impression that Martin would be building everything by code and getting the proper permits. Fighting with the city still about it and it is costing $$$. I'm currently in the process of filing litigation against this company. They will not respond. I'm out a lot of money and it is a super unethical business. DO NOT USE. Look at other reviews which seem to be a similar pattern.

The materials were top quality and the installation was careful and well done as I had discussed with the owner. I find the workmanship to be top notch and the work performed on schedule as promised.

They installed a driveway gate. One side of the gate was 2 inches lower than the other. It it hit and would not close all the way. This was back in 2017. I haven’t been calling them and they have been telling me they would come out and they haven’t. It’s been a nightmare. It is now 2020. Very unhappy.

I am very particular when it comes to quality, workmanship and customer service. Martin and James at Celtic excelled in all of those categories. Communication and planning was exceptional and the job was completed as promised.

A day or two after I put in an inquiry on Martin's website, I heard back from him to schedule a consultation and quote. He came out promptly as scheduled and we had a long and detailed conversation about what exactly my wife and I were looking for. A couple of days later he sent me a very detailed itemized quote along with a number of specific design ideas. Not only was the quote the most detailed of all the contractors we had been in touch with about the project, it was also the most reasonable. After we settled on a design, his team was out very quickly to install the gate posts and once the gate was finished returned to install it within his quoted time frame. I couldn't have asked for a better or friendlier customer service experience, and the actual work product far exceeded my expectations. Both gates are clearly built to last for a very, very long time. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Martin and Celtic Gates to anyone looking to install a custom gate or garage door at their property (and, in fact, have already done so).

Celtic Gates came out to provide a bid and spent an hour with me going over details. Martin met with me on Friday and advised I would have a bid on Tuesday. That was 6 weeks ago and I never heard anything from them. Unfortunately, I don't chase contractors and found a fantastic company who did want my business. Gave him a little credit for actually showing up, therefore a "D" grade it is.

He was punctual and professional, but the job was a little more money than we wanted to spend.

We are absolutely ecstatic about the work that Celtic Gates did at our house in February 2015. The quality of the workmanship and the design was fantastic. The wood driveway gate is very attractive and swings incredibly smoothly even for such a large heavy gate. We looked at other vendors that would charge less, but the quality of Celtic Gates was much better and worth the price. Martin is very easy to work with and has an excellent design sense. We would definitely recommend Celtic Gates for both wood gates and wrought iron fencing and gates.

Martin and Tony were wonderful to work with. My electric gate stopped working just as I was due to leave town. They came on short notice and temporarily repaired gate so it could be used in my absence. On my return they came and repaired/replaced unit in full. They offered several options in different price ranges and their prices were quite reasonable. (I obtained several estimates). I would highly recommend them.

Very poor professionalism, workmanship, and customer care. Martin and his team didn't complete the job which started half a year ago. There was no communication or care throughout the entire process. There were weeks without hearing from them, costly miscommunication with other contractors (I.e. Electrician, mason, locksmith), and unacceptable work. We still haven't heard back from Martin, and after 6 months, are still stuck with substandard gates we never wanted, approved of, and ultimately had to pay for.

Celtic was truly professional! We are completely delighted with how the gate turned out. It exceeded our expectations. It was a beautiful wood gate mounted on a metal frame. The workmanship and quality of the hardware was excellent. We dealt with the owner, Martin Morris, who listened carefully to our design input and balanced it with the limitations of the site (our driveway is quite narrow). Martin is very easy to work with. He took the time to answer all our questions (we had a lot) and explained everything fully. He is very detail-oriented and his focus on quality is obvious. His installers were friendly and knowledgeable and were very receptive to our suggestions on integrating the gate into our location. The installation was completed in three days. This was an expensive gate but we received very good value for our money. We would absolutely recommend Celtic to our neighbors and anyone interested in having a custom gate built.

Martin and his crew were fantastic start to finish. I received three different quotes and because Martin was so responsive and easy to communicate with...and promptly provided a detailed proposal with an outline of all work and all costs (as opposed to most contractors that like to give you a total sum without a breakdown). He even recently came back out to adjust the gate when I noticed some clicking when it was opening. Would definitely work with Martin again.

Martin and his crew applied their talent and skills to provide us with a beautiful driveway gate and walk in gates at either side of our home. The main driveway gate is supported with steel embedded in concrete pilasters (built by a mason). The gates were double sided redwood mounted to a custom made steel frame. All gates, walk in doors, and supporting panels were delivered with two coats of primer and two coats of oil based paint over clear redwood. We elected to follow Celtic's advice and use bolts around the perimeter of the gate work to ensure a tight fit of the wood to the steel frame. The driveway gate and one walk in gate sport beautiful arches that follow the arches of the facade and existing shutters. His crew did yeomen's work when it came time to assemble on site. The hinges they installed are heavy duty and angled in such a way as to clear the slope of the driveway. Everything was painted to match and the motors were set to operate smoothly and reliably. I would recommend this company to anyone. Martin, owner of Celtic Gates and Doors, cares about his clients and their satisfaction. He wants you to be happy with the work so that the reputation of his company will continue to grow positively. As to price, it's the old story that you get what you pay for. He's not inexpensive. But the work and product are first rate. Just like the ritzy homes you drive by.... His competitor's bid was good. But you could see the difference in the pictures of the end product. I felt much more comfortable giving Celtic the nod for this job. In the end, I was right to do so. You're in good hands. Go with Celtic Gates and Doors.

I think that went very well for the people that we have spoken before, we don't know exactly what was the status of the project but I think when it goes, it will be with them and we really like them a lot. I just say that my wife really likes the guy; we thought he was very trustworthy and fair.

I am so happy with my beautiful new automated driveway gate and so impressed with the positive experience I had with Martin and Celtic Gates and Doors. Just a few weeks after moving into my new "forever" house, it became obvious that I needed to replace the existing manual gate across my driveway with an automated one. It was nothing but a pain to have to get out of my car to both open and close the existing gates every time I wanted to drive my car into my garage. It was also a safety and security issue for me. A friend recommended Celtic Gates & Doors and I am so happy with the work they did for me --- especially Martin's commitment to providing quality work and service to his customers. Martin responded to my voicemail message promptly and made an appointment to visit to provide an estimate within a few days of our conversation. He offered a very good solution to the problem that my driveway has a very gentle slope in it---enabling the gate to be hung without a huge gap at the bottom. And he even had the worker who removed my old gates break out some cement edging and move some dirt from a flower bed so the gate could swing freely. Martin's estimate was reasonable and gave me a break as a new homeowner. Two weeks later, I have a stunning new driveway gate, built and installed by Martin and his crew at Celtic Gates. I am so impressed with the quality of the workmanship, the sturdy steel frame, the high quality stain-grade redwood used in the gate and the quiet efficiency of the opener installed. This gate is truly a work of art---and clearly the most attractive aspect of my new home. My job now is to bring the rest of the house up to the standard set by this installation! I can't go without mentioning how pleasant it was interacting with Martin and his employees who worked on my job. I admire Martin's integrity and old-school values and so appreciate that he cares about providing quality work and goods to his customers. The workers who removed my old gates and installed the new one were conscientious, hard-working and paid serious attention to detail---all of which combined to make my installation a huge success. I highly recommend Celtic Gates and Doors. They go the extra mile and I know my gate will last many years!

It went very well!. Martin met with all of us, listened carefully, took necessary measurements and e-mailed us copies of the estimate. Note, he really listened, spent time with us, walked the site with us, offered suggestions that he felt would improve our ideas. The on site work took 2 days separated by two weeks of fabrication. Day one, the crew arrived, took many more measurements, did some prelim work. They returned as promised in 2 weeks, set up the fence as we'd expected and did the finish work. Celtic Gates was not the lowest bid we received, but we chose them because we felt that the bid was fair and we were confident that Martin and his crew would do a good job. Celtic Gate's price included all work, site conditions and materials. There was never any question of "extras". The fence is beautiful. The only downside is that next to it, our house suddenly seems to need repainting!.

Martin has a great resume and a lot of good ideas. He met with me several times and we went over the plan to build an electric gate. Some pluming and electrical work had to be done to get the area ready for the gate work and Martin was very patient with the delays in getting this done. The gate turned out just beautiful! Not only is it serving the purpose of providing some additional security but it really looks great. A pleasure to work with Celtic Gates!!

Martin built two of the most beautiful gates we've seen. He is a true craftsman, and we are extremely impressed with the quality of the work. The entire process was easy from start to finish. Martin was able to provide an estimate by email based on dimensions and specifications for the gate as well as photographs of the opening. Once we accepted his bid, he came out to our property and had several helpful suggestions on how to make the gates even better than what we were originally thinking. Although construction of the gates took a little longer than expected, we're thrilled with the final product. The gates make our property stand out in a good way and definitely enhance our curb appeal. We've received numerous complements from neighbors and visitors. Martin's team was very professional, and he kept to his estimate even when a few minor, unexpected things came up during installation. Overall, we were very pleased and would recommend Martin to anyone who's considering adding a gate to their property.

While this work was done a little over a year ago, I decided to write the review now because I've just been so happy with the product. Martin Morris came out personally to talk to me about my project, and worked with me to get the exact design I wanted. From the three people I had come out to give me a quote, Martin's fell right in the middle, but I believe I got my money's worth. First, Martin was the only one to recommend an outward swinging gate, while the other two indicated I could only have an inward swinging gate, which would cost more money due to the type of mechanical device that would need to be installed. Martin himself is a trip. He's a chatty little man, but very likeable, not to mention it really seems like he cares about his product, his workers, and his customers. After the work was done, he came to check on things to make sure I was happy. And to add to the customer service aspect, our gate was installed right before those really windy days last year. On one of the nights, the wind actually blew the gate open, and it needed to be reset. Without charging us or making it seem like we were bothering him, Martin cam by as soon as we called him to help us out. After a year, the gate still works great and looks wonderful. I recommend Martin without any hesitation.

Celtic Gates was worth every penny spent. We discovered Martin from homeowners that had driveway gates we admired every time we drove by. Low and behold they were both made by Celtic Gates. Martin was so easy to work with. He gave great advice and took the time to answer all our questions and make us feel good about the decisions we were making. The end product was exactly what we hoped for. Not only did he build us a gate that was the perfect style for our home, but he made sure we understood the security benefits too. One year later we still get compliments from people just walking by. The crew was efficient and clean and kept right on schedule. Martin was responsive to emails and calls throughout and made himself available to meet with us before, during and after. When it was time to build and install, he explained the process and it happened just as he said. He even had a great recommendation for someone to do the minor electrical work we needed for the motor. Overall just a great experience with a finished product we couldn't be happier with.

We actually found him because we went up to a few different houses we liked in the area whose gates we liked and ALL THREE HAD USED CELTIC GATES! They raved about him!I must say that I am very detail oriented and Martin was excellent at dealing with me and all of my questions. He even came out for THREE DIFFERENT VISITS because I kept changing my mind about the design. Never did he bat an eye about it... He was GREAT to deal with. I have NO reservations about recommending Martin and his company...beautiful work, great service, period...

I didn't go with them because they were more expensive, but they actually had better quality, so I understand why they were more expensive. I just couldn't afford what they had to offer. They were extremely friendly and very thorough. Martin is one of the owners and he came out to my new house, measured, gave me pictures and quotes. He told me about his products and it's better quality than what I'm going with, but I just couldn't afford to do it. I would recommend them to people who have a lot of money. It was a really good quality gate. He was great and had a great sense of humor. He was very friendly and professional. He came with pictures for me to look at, so that I knew what the product was that I was getting. He was quick and accurate in his follow up. The estimate that he gave me when he came out was the same as the one he mailed me in writing. I just happened to find somebody that could do that plus another side gate for less, so that's what I did. They seemed very honest and followed through with quality products. The price was competitive for what he was offering.

Very smoothly. The workmen were pleasant and professional, did a great job quickly and cleanly.
