This is my first experience with Angie's list. The technician, Joe, showed up promptly at the scheduled time. He listened to my concerns and quickly identified the most likely problem. He explained what he was doing during the repair and what to expect. Within minutes cool air was flowing in my office and the condensation from the copper pipes evaporated. I would use Toro again.

The experience was fine. They are always good. I would recommend them to others. They were prompt and efficient. Everything was nice. The repairman was nice and pleasant. The price was a little bit higher than I thought.

I called yesterday, they came promptly on the agreed upon date , they even called on the day of service to ask if they could come early. The serviceman, Joe, was very professional, examined the system, found the problem fairly quickly, replaced the part (starting capacitor), checked the system, and we completed our business in a very short period of time.

Had another air conditioning company come out to tune up my central air. I was informed that there was a leak and the upstairs unit was completely empty of freon. The cost to do a leak check was $883. But they were pretty sure that the problem wasn't in tubing but the condensor and another place, necessitating the replacement of the unit. I checked Angie's List, saw that this company had an F rating(should have checked prior before buying the Groupon) looked at the reviews. One person used this company, had the same problems and more reported back to her and called Toro for a second opinion. So I called Toro. Rosa was very nice, understanding, and professional on the phone. She checked with her tech, called me back and had Joe talk to me. He came out the next day and did a leak check. Cost was $250 and he checked everything. Found the leak and repaired it. Added freon to both units. Time spent at my house over 4 hours. He went into two different attics and the crawl space(yech). He ruled everything out. After 8 years of having to refill the freon yearly and the possibility replacement, I now have a working air conditioner just in time for the projected heat wave. Wonderful.

The mark of a good contractor isn't always the job performed but how they handled problems that arise.When the suppliers messed up an order Joe and Tony were able to work around it and not waste a day.

Our a/c unit stopped blowing cold air. Based on their superior Angie's List rating, I called Toro A/C and Heating. Tried to get a same day appointment but was told they were booked for the day but could come the next day. Scheduled the appointment, and about an hour later got a call saying that they COULD come that same day. Bonus points right off the bat!. The unit is rather old and I was expecting the worst: either it needed to be replaced, or needed a costly overhaul. Joe came out and after trouble shooting the unit, said it was nothing but a burned out capacitor that costs 45 bucks (plus labor, trip and service charges). THAT'S IT!!! Now, I know a lot of other companies would have tried to jack up the price since I know nothing about a/c units so we were fortunate and blessed to have found Toro and Joe. Everyone, from the people at the office who I spoke with, to Joe and his assistant, were professional, honest, courteous and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Toro and would not hesitate to use them again!

Joe arrived on time and performed a thorough inspection the heating and a/c systems which are about 10 years old at this property. Joe is very knowledgeable, skilled, professional and pleasant. Both system had no problems and Joe explained to me the tests that he had run and what the results meant. He provided me suggestions to help keep the systems continuing to run. Toro Refrigeration is an honest company with excellent people. I don't hestiate to use them or recommend them.

He was very good. He was a very nice man. He was on time and neat. He was very thorough and quick to return to make corrections. I would definitely recommend him.

Joe was prompt and tried to repair the heater but was unable to as he diagnosed that the circuit board was not functioning properly. It was late Saturday afternoon and the part vendors were closed. He said he could do the job on Monday morning. He estimated that the part would cost about $95. Upon returning he advised me that the part would cost me $374.95 plus tax, a total of $407.76. The house temperature was 55 degrees and I accepted the deal. There was a $75 trip charge plus a $75 service charge for a total of $557.76. I live in an upscale area and am wondering if that may have influenced the course of events? He was apologetic about how expensive the part was. I think Joe would be well advised to be more knowledgeable of part costs and not to underestimate costs.

I have a retail store at the Outlets of Orange and the AC unit is on the roof. The retail management requires a lot of permits/insurance to check out the system. Must go through security. Toro submitted all info to make this happen within 2 days to pass all requirements. Tech was prompt. Got the job finished in matter of hours. Step by step updates were provided via phone. Plus received Angieslist discounts. Excellent company to work with.

From the first phone call, I could tell this was not just another company. The young woman that I talked asked all the right questions, set the appointment AND kept us posted of any time delays in reaching us. We met with the owner, who grew up in the area of our home and knew the outlay of the area well. We had several other quotes so we had an idea of what the job would entail. He hit all the right points but pointed several points that we didn't consider in respect to our neighbors. We were going to a put a unit on the roof, due to the hill, the neighbors that were higher would have a very unsightly view. He also pointed an energy waste issue. We also got a thorough explanation about the unit and how it worked and why it was highly rated. The actual work was amazing. They took excellent care of the installation, cleanup and the follow up was amazing. After the installation, the owner showed us how the unit worked with and a week later called to see if had any issues with it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

They were very courteous and thorough in their explanations and evaluation of our units.They were going to charge me an additional $75 for taping the exhaust pipe but because the estimate was not provided to me up front prior to the work being performed they waived the charge. Pretty impressive customer service and honesty. Very professional and polite to my wife and myself I will use Toro again.

I had a company come out to preform a check up on my heater. The UV light on my Germicidal UV Cleanser was out. (The company that installed it promised to replace every year, for free, but they went out of business.) I asked what it would cost to replace the bulb but they wanted $250.00. I looked up the company that sells the light bulbs and the part was $35ish. When I asked why it cost so much he said it cost so much to replace/install the UV bulb because it takes special training and he has to be an expert to install the bulbs. I declined all service. When Toro came to fix my heater (see Dec. report) he got in touch with the UV light company (who would not sell to me) and made arrangements to order the bulb (had to prove he was a pro). When the bulb came in, he installed it for me, no charge, because he had done the previous work for me, I paid for the bulb. Even if it hadn't been free, it would not have been anywhere near $250. He made a special trip out to my house and everything. He was on time, friendly and quick. I trust this company because they give you options, look for the best solution, (not the one that lines their pockets), and say what they mean and do what they say. THIS COMPANY IS TRULY DOING AN HONEST JOB!!

My heater had been making loud rattling noises lately that were more reminiscent of a 747 rather than a furnace. When I called Toro, the lady who answered the phone (on the 1st ring!) was very polite and tweaked their schedule to get a repair man out to my house when it was convenient for ME! Joe and Tony arrived 5 minutes AHEAD of the 8am appointment and put on booties, yes BOOTIES, before entering the house! They took a look at the unit, found the problem and without even attempting to sell me on a new unit or anything, began to actually FIX the unit. Everything was fixed, cleaned and replaced and they were out the door within ONE HOUR. My heater is now as nature intended it to be: whisper quiet. I strongly recommend these guys to anyone and will definitely be using them for any and all future HVAC needs.

Our 18 year old heater got a crack in the heater box. We were told that we needed to replace the whole unit and that it would be a good idea to replace the air conditioner too. The estimates for just the heat ranged from $1500 to $8,000 and $5,000 to $14,000 for the whole system. We had 4 companies come out to give us estimates. Toro looked at our system and asked if we had checked the warranty. We had, but when I called they said it was out of warranty. He told me that he was sure that the fire box had a 20 year warranty so he called. They told him the same thing but he pushed them to look it up, and sure enough it was still under warranty. They then said that they didn't have the unit and that I would have to pay delivery fees and that it would take 2 weeks. It was really cold, so he asked them to look around the LA area. They found one, not too far, so I suggest that I would go get it, which I did. They were scheduled to come out the next day to insall it when our power went out for 5 days. Toro checked in every day to see if we had power and when we finnally got it back on, came out at 6 pm, after a full day of work, to fix my heater. Toro was the only company to check the warranty, the only one to suggest fixing the heater. In the weeks before Christmas, to have to come up with $5,000 to $14,000 was overwelming. This company was professional, clean, quick and wonderful to deal with. I will have them back when we do decide to replace the whole system, hopefully not when it is so cold!!

He is very thorough, very thoughtful and very responsive. He is someone who can be trusted and who does the job right. He is not excessive in charging his fees. He is fairly priced when compared to others. I like that he is punctual, careful and thoughtful of things around. There are workers that don’t care; they just do their jobs and sometimes break things and stuff like that but he is very thoughtful in that respect. He does a very good job. When we had a problem with the unit he came back and didn’t charge us because he took it as an installation problem. He is very thoughtful; very few people are like that nowadays. He is definitely reliable. The quality of his work, his professionalism, punctuality and responsiveness is excellent. I would use him again in the future.

Joe was punctual and on-time. Joe provided a thorough analysis, and detailed quote, and performed the necessary work as promised. He repaired the furnace in one day. He made sure the work was done right and provided me a good explanation as to what went wrong. Joe located the parts and picked up the parts the same day. I was very happy with the work he performed and would definitely recommend him to others.

Joe is very detailed. He provided good recommendations of brands of A/C equipment. He designed a sheet metal platform for my A/C condenser to sit on my roof. He resolved a leakage problem with one of my ducting that was within the scope of work. His workmanship is very good.

Joe is always precise and explains everything to you in detail so you know exactly what was wrong and what he fixed. He was very patient and answered all of my questions. He showed both parts and where the failure was on the defective motor. Luckily Joe had the part in his van so everything ran smoothly. In and out in 2.5 hours. Wonderful service. Exemplary.

Joe added freon, but stopped when he thought that he was adding so much that there must be a leak somewhere. He spent a lot of time looking for the leak, but couldn't locate it. He did find that there were holes in the overflow pan that drained into the overflow pipe, usually indicating there was a blockage of sign in the regular condensation drain. He said that the unit really needed to be replaced (it is 20 years old), but that he might be able to patch the rusted holes that might help the unit last a little longer and protect my ceiling from water damage. He spent a lot of time trying to fix the holes and get the old unit back together. I really appreciated all his effort to try to help me. There were a few unexpected things that happened but he handled it all very professionally, quickly and with as good a quality as possible. When he left, everything was working and clean and he only charged me for the service call and the freon. I'll definitely be contacting him when the my AC finally goes out completely

Turns out something made the circuit breaker trip and the unit wasn't getting any power. I usually expect service people to try to "upsell" some service that I may or may not need. Not these guys. Checked the freon level and it was fine. Checked the amps going through the unit and that was fine. Checked the temp settings and everything was fine. The tech gave the unit a clean bill of health and educated me on basic maintenance procedures and what to look out for in case something like this happened again. Very honest, friendly and I would definitely recommend this company to anyone I know.

My heater stopped working over the weekend. No heat. It appeared to not be igniting. I called Toro Heating and Air on Monday morning, and made an appointment for Wednesday at 10:00 am. Date and time was my choice. I appreciated being given an actual appointment time, rather than a 2-4 hour window. On Wednesday, I received a call right at 10:00 am from their office letting me know the technician was running about 10 minutes behind. Less than 10 minutes later, Jose arrived, but booties on to protect the floors, and went to work diagnosing the heater. He quickly determined the control module was not allowing the burners to ignite. He was able to locate a replacement part ( it's a older heater). He would go get the part, I had some errands to run, so we agreed to meet back up at 3:00 pm the same day for him to install the module. Exactly at 3:00 pm, Jose was back with the part. Installation was quick, and clean, and I had heat again. This was probably the best service experience I have ever had. Their willingness to set an actual appointment time, the ability to diagnose, and repair an older heater, and all with the bare minimum of inconvenience was appreciated. I highly recommed Toro Heating and Air.

I was astounded at the service and honesty I received.

A technician from Toro came out to investigate the installation and help finish the job. He explained that the furnace was sitting too low, and the condenser pipes would eventually leak. He was very thorough with his inspection and everything he explained to me. Overall, Toro was prompt, helpful, and professional. I?m very grateful for their service. They got me out of a pretty bad bind, and I highly recommend them to others.
