The price was reasonable. For the quality of the work they did and the materials, they had the best price I found. The scheduling was good. They also coordinated with the company that removed the old ducts. They were prompt and on time. The cleanup was good.
Description of Work: They did a maintenance tune-up on my furnace. They have also done some duct work for me. They re-duct my whole home.

Everything was excellent. The installation was perfect. They cleaned up after themselves. Everyone at Toro Heating & Air Conditioning were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. All of the technicians (3 of them) that came out to our home were friendly and did a wonderful job.I would certainly recommend them to anyone (and I have).

We contacted Toro after joining Angie's List because we had a bad experience with a provider we found in local weekly ad booklet who did not solve our problem. Upon calling Toro an appointment set for the next day, it was the hottest days of summer, our AC went out, a different service provider charged us $250 because he said the problem was the circuit breaker, however that was not the problem and the previous provider walked off the job leaving the electric panel open on our AC unit. "David" from Toro showed up promptly on time, tested several parts of the unit, found that the problem was the condenser fan was not working, which AC units have a built in overload that if it gets hot by not being cooled by the fan, it shuts down tripping the circuit breaker. So David replaced the fan motor with a universal motor he had on his service van. Unfortunately, 30 minutes after he left, the AC condenser triped the circuit breaker again. I called Toro, they said they would rearrange some scheduling and send David back that evening. David checked several things and found that the fan motor was pulling too many amps which caused the breaker to trip, he called his supervisor who suggested he change the motor again as the first replacement must be defective, he changed another fan motor, and unfortunately, it again was pulling too many amps and this one also tripped the breaker. Toro made arrangements for the supervisor "Joe" to come out early the day, which was a Saturday morning, this would be their 3rd service call, they said their priority is to make it right for the customer. What "Joe" found is that we have an unusually aggressive pitch on our fan propellers which is why the replaced motors we pulling too many amps, so Joe replaced the 3rd motor with lower RPMs, which solved the problem. This was a night and day difference from the provider we previously used from an ad in the Pennysaver, that provider walked off the job leaving parts laying around and expressing frustration because it was too hot to work. Toro on the other hand never complained, all people we communicated with at Toro we professional and expressed their concern to help us as their customer. It was such a relief to have an AC again for the 106 degree humid days we were having. I highly recommend Toro to others.

the receptionist was pleasant and let me know the technician could be at my house within 1/2 hour. The technician arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. it was repaired and working within 2 hours of initial call. The technician made sure nothing was missed-he checked the freon and even rinsed down the outdoor fan.
Description of Work: diagnosed problem with AC as blown capacitor. Initially thought he had replacement on his truck, but quickly informed me that he would need to go get one. We talked about filters and he was able to recommend one and bring that back as well. My intake is an unusually large size, so the filters are expensive and have to be replaced often. the filter he recommended was electorstatic and better filteration then the filter I could buy--and it can be rinsed out.

They were courteous and they came right away. I didn't want holes in my ceiling and they worked with us regarding that. They cleaned up the house after the work. Their price was really good too.

Jose came out, looked over the job for an hour and a half. We all knew it was complicated because of the small crawl space under the house and the lack of proper ducting previously installed for the furnace. Then he came out again with Steve to fine tune our requirements and map out the new ducts. His crew did their best not to intrude on our home. It was a very dusty 4 days but they stayed till 7 pm on the last day to get it done. Everything's working fine. Thank you very much Victor, Albert, Steve and Jose. As an addendum it should be noted that no product manuals or information was left for us which made it difficult to apply for the Green Incentive program in our area. They also only took care of the inspections when I called them repeatedly.
Description of Work: Installed Central Air Conditioner where there was none before. Upgraded ductwork.

The technician arrived on time and spent about 45 minutes fixing my problem. My furnace pilot light would not stay lit after releasing the pilot light lever which rendered the furnace inoperable. I don't remember exactly what he fixed but he spent about 45 minutes working on it and cleaning the burner assembly. He did explain what he did but I can't remember the technical details.He then tested it in my presence and it appeared to be working fine. He definitely seemed very professionali. I think the price was very fair considering that it included the service/diagnostic fee of around $69. What was the most surprising was that he didn't try to sell me a new furnace based on the age of mine! He also checked the furnace firebox to make sure it was ok and not cracked. I would have no problem using this business again.

Very professional company. Great staff, can't say enough good things about Albert. From the initial call this company was attentive and courteous. I made a appointment for a qoute and they came the next day. They actually called to see if it was ok to come early. When the technician got here for the qoute he actually measure the inside of the home with a laser measuring device to get a estimate of the size of the house. All the time he was doing this he was explaining what was involved with a install, where about vents would go, ducting etc. He answered and explained any question that I had(I had many, I didnt know much about HVAC systems). All in all he was extremely thorough, and was here about 45min(which surprised me). When he left I was very impressed to the attention to detail. He stated that he would get to working on the quote right away and I could expect it tomorrow. I got the quote that evening. Impressed once again. I did want to get at least another quote for comparison, so I went back on Angie's list and found another company with a higher number of good reviews and made another appoitment. Total waste of time(that's another review that I will make and they won't like) So I went ahead with Toro, we scheduled for the following Wednesday. Friday evening I get a call from Toro asking if it would be ok to begin on Monday moring, I said yes(once again impressed). Everyday of the install they were here on time. They worked hard and efficiently all day. Every day there was so much progress and throughout it any question that i had Albert answered. At the end of every day he would inform me what he finished and what was going to be done the next day. The workmanship and attention to detail that Albert did was impressive he is a asset to this company. From the inital call to the last day of the install everything was smooth. I have to say they were very professional. They sold me exactly the unit my home needed. Thks

About 18 months after replacing the Furnace & AC of the other zone of our home we began to have trouble with this one. A service person found a faulty switch which he said would cost nearly $1000 but it could be the tip of the iceberg of things failing in this unit because of its age. So we opted to replace the furnace only. After getting 4 estimates we chose Toro because they offered a 95% efficiency furnace for about the same price as the others' 85%, including the replacement of the remaining duct work in the house, as well as an additional filtering system. The gentlemen who performed the work did so in 1 day with little to no mess. They wore paper shoe covers the entire time and and even moved the thermostat for the other zone for us so that it would better heat that side of the house. They were polite and courteous and did a great job of showing us how things worked and how to program the thermostat. WE immediately saw an improvement in our utility bill and have been very please with the product and service we received from Toro. We would use them again but hope we don't need to.

Toro did an amazing job. When other A/C companies that I quoted recommended a bigger 3-ton unit, Joe understood what was truly required for the job and eventually offered a cheaper, less powerful, 2.5-ton unit, which was a perfect fit for the size of the house. This is, right there, the mark of an honest man, who puts the customer first. The overall installation was flawless even in the very details: Joe's craftsmanship was hard to beat! Rosa ran the show in the background: she scheduled the quote and the installation, and she pulled the permits. I appreciated that she worked with me on the date of installation. Indeed, we absolutely had to have the A/C done by a certain date and she made it work! I will certainly recommend the Toro team to anyone in need of an A/C or heating job done at their home. Thank you guys! :)

J. Gonzeles, the service technician, took the time to explain the problems (yes, multiple) with our ac/heating system and the parts requiring replacement. He also showed me what was wrong with the parts and explained how our ac/heating unit works. He is obviously experienced at the work he does and the pride in his work shows. J. Gonzales was assisted by another service technician -- Albert (refrigeration specialist) -- who happened to be with him for their next service call appt that day. I would definitely recommend this company; especially these technicians. I consider them both assets to Toro.
Description of Work: Installed two new circuit boards; one for upper floor furnace and the other for lower floor furnace. Installed two new Honeywell programmable thermostats.

Because the quote was not explained carefully in detail. I felt the process was misleading and confused. Make sure to get the clear quotation in writing should you decide to use their service. I ended up paid more than I bargained for, but considering the job was performed fairly - I did not pursue further.

Response from West Tech Mechanical Services
With all due respect, we would like to take this opportunity to fill in the details left out by the customer in his report. On a Friday, the customer had called to make an appointment for the following day. It was set for 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Joe, who is one of our technicians, explained that he arrived at 8 am to the customer’s place of business, yet the customer showed up 15 to 20 minutes later. The customer said he has been occupying the warehouse building for over 10 years and that the building was formerly owned by an HVAC company previous to him. He further explained the central air system was an experiment design that consisted of multi zoned thermostats that are in 5 different room offices. And he wanted to know if the problem was the thermostats and if so, could they be replaced. He said that he was certain that the thermostats most likely were the problem because the unit had been working for years, off and on. The customer led Joe to an upstairs area above the offices to where the electrical mechanical controls consisted of an elaborate panel of multi zoned wires leading to 5 mechanical electrical dampers controlled by the thermostats in each of the offices by way of a centralized circuit board panel. Joe spent a great deal of time trouble shooting the entire electrical system to determine what worked and what didn’t, and found the zoning circuit board with a charcoal burnt hot spot. To remedy the problem, Joe presented the customer with options to either replace the entire zoning control system with an updated version which would be costing him over $3,000, or opt for a much simpler solution of installing a single thermostat and physically remove the motors from all the dampers to turn them in an open position to prevent air flow restriction, for $525. The work would consist of bypassing the zone panel with a single office thermostat wired directly to the roof top unit, and physically force open all the closed dampers that had been closed by the old controls. The customer gave a verbal authorization for the price of $525, and for the work to begin on Monday. However, in between that Saturday and Monday, the customer telephoned on Sunday to confirm a price of $500 (not the $525 previously agreed upon). But Joe attempted to remind him that it was in fact $525. The customer became argumentative stating he was not going to pay $525. So Joe presented him with a 3rd option to save the customer money, proposing to simply install the new thermostat and teach the customer how to physically open the 5 motorized dampers with the appropriate tools and procedure for the price $320. The customer verbally agreed over the telephone to the 3rd option. On Monday Joe arrived on time and performed the work, as agreed over the telephone, from the day previous. Because the customer was happy and being pleasant, Joe offered to inspect the unit A/C air filters free of charge, and show him how to access and replace the air filters, and the customer said yes. And during the course of the removing the access panels and air filters, Joe discovered that the air filter hadn’t been replaced in over ten years. Nevertheless, Joe offered to replace the air filters free of charge. Joe then left the customer’s place of business thinking everything to be in good terms. Now however, several months after the hot summer heat is over, the customer reports on Angies List that he feels he was manipulated and confused, and didn’t get what he had bargained for. But nevertheless feels the work was fairly done. We feel this customer has now taught us a valuable lesson, to get authorization in writing prior to commencing work. Even though we would love to have seen an all A’s report, we never the less thank the customer for suggesting we submit our proposal in writing with signed customer authorization. We further feel that the customer’s comments are misplaced because he received more than what he bargained for, but was not happy because he was not able to negotiate down our time and materials. Furthermore, we feel that the grading he assigned is also misplaced because it was a subjective random grading rather than an objective careful consideration. 1) we were there on time, 2) we gave him prices that were significantly far less than what any other professional contractor would have charged him, 3) our diagnosis was accurate, 4) the quality of the thermostat was the best on the market, a Pro 6000 Honeywell thermostat, 5) the work has lasted to this date, and finally 6) we treated the customer with utmost respect. IM A USAF VET AND FROM VET OT VET THIS IS THE PLACE TO CALL AND FROM VET TO CIVILAIN TRUST ME TORO IS NUMBER 1 ALSO MY HUSBAND IS A RETIRED U.S MARINE, SO FOR ALL YOU SEMPER FI'S THIS IS THE ONE!! HERES THE STORY AGAIN! LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED TO HEAR IT IN PERSON I CANT TELL YOU ENOUGH ABOUT THIS COMPANY!! Joe saved my life!! what a great company! he was there for my a/c he was working an he heard me scream, i got bit by a bee! im so allergic, my husband couldn't hear my scream, but Joe did, and immediately ran to my husband to told , then asked to go get the bleach. he poured the bleach on the wound, got me the medicine i had to take and i was breathing once again, he even came back the next day with his wife to make sure i was ok! it was amazing, i told this to the veterans administration, and they said to me you know some people do not have the smarts to think that right under there own nose in the house or under there sink or medicine cabinet the cure can be right there, and that he was so right to put bleach on it, the stinker came right out! then they asked me hey do you think he wants to work here?? lol i said oh h*** no, this guy did a 500.00 dollar job on my a/c and i only paid 200??? on no!! this man went beyond the call of duty, he cleaned my A/c in the back back of the unit in the house and took out layers!! an did i mention layers of cat, dog, pollen, dirt an long time ago dirt then cleaned the back a/c main unit, i never knew this needed to be done, and ive had my house forever,! he sweat to no end cause on that day it was 102* here in Pomona an my a/c was out that week. and thank God for Joe, we love him and his family the fact that he rush to my aide and fixed my unit to new, means he has a customer for life!! they are so great, from the 1st call to the thank you. Angies list told me they would do a commercial and or prop fpr this, and i never got a return call and noting happen, so from me to you, DON'T CALL ANYONE ELSE FOR YOUR A/C JOB BUT TORO A/C THEY ARE SUPER GREAT, GREAT PRICING AND ON TIME!! Our air conditioner stopped working this week so we checked Angie's list for an estimate. We liked what we read about Toro company and called them to see what was wrong with the AC. The technician came on Friday and was able to fix it that day. We were very happy with the company.

I was very happy with Toro's service and will be using them again.
Description of Work: My 27 year old A/C unit had been non-operational for the past two years. I made an appointment with Toro and they came the next day. Joe charged the unit with 3.6 lbs of coolant and checked the amp output to see if it was within manufacture s specification. They were done in an hour and the place is cool as the other side of the pillow.

We were without A/C for over a year. Looking for the right company can be quite a hassle. We finally started taking bids, we had a total of five. We threw out the two highs and started looking up the companies to make comparisons. The lowest bid talked a good game but after seeing some of the reviews . . . no way! We finally called Toro, and as stated above we were very pleased.
Description of Work: I was very pleased with Toro Heating and Air. They sent out a rep. to give us an estimate; I had questions and he had questions. I answered all of his questions about the old unit and he told me what I needed to know and how it would be done. It took me a little time to get my finances together, but they were very patience with me. About a month or so later I called Rosa to make an appointment. In a few days Joe comes out with a slim-line energy efficient condenser unit. It got dark on him but he was finished at the end of the day. Joe an I had several conversations regarding saving energy; and a month later as I sit here with my latest Edison bill Joe truly gave me some helpful advice. Joe told me that our attic was very hot and it would help if I put a fan in the attic to draw out the hot air. So now we have a cooler attic which keeps the A/C from running so long during the day.

The circuit breaker kept tripped by the A/C. Scheduled an appointment 2 days later. Technician Joe shows up on time and quickly identified the problem. Whoever installed or serviced the unit last time did not wire it correctly, resulting the fan turning backward and causing the compressor overheat. He reversed the wiring and replaced a capacitor. The unit is working now!Joe was very knowledgable about his trade and very easy to work with. He will be my A/C guy from now on.
Description of Work: Correct the wiring and replace a capacitor.
