1. Gary Parker trashed my yard. 2. Refused to clean up. 3. Left without reconnecting the sprinkler system. 4. Contractor Gary Parker took almost 14 days to complete the wall. When I refused to pay the last $500.00 unless he, cleaned up the work area, reconnect my sprinkler system, Contractor Gary Parker became verbally abusive, it was so intense that I truly believed that he was going to physically attack me. Gary Parker dropped the F bomb numerous times as well as almost every curse word he could think of. It was so bad that my wife in the house was about to call the police on Contractor Gary Parker. He left with out finishing the job and said he was going to file a lien on my home. At that point I filed a claim with the Contractors Board. That got the attention of Contractor Gary Parker. He came back and did a half *** job cleaning up the yard that he trashed. He reconnected the sprinkler system, unfortunately it was not until several weeks after I paid Contractor Gary Parker the balance, that I discovered that the sprinkler system was connected incorrectly and my yard has never been the same since Contractor Gary Parker was there. I will never use Contractor Gary Parker again, he is a mean, vengeful man and was truly off the rail and I fear he could be violent not just verbally abusive.
Description of Work: My neighbor wanted a block wall to replace a wood fence. I agreed to pay a small portion of the job. I also agreed to let Contractor Gary Parker work from my side of the fence because my yard was level. Gary Parker agreed to respect my yard, repair the sprinkler system that had to be disconnected to pour the footings. Gary Parker promised to have the work completed in 3-5 days.

It went very well. Contractor Gary Parker and his men showed up on time and did a good job. They kept us informed about when each inspection by the city would take place and were in daily communication with me about the progress of the job. If and when I need another block wall done, I would call Gary Parker again. He was easy to reach by telephone day or night.
Description of Work: Block wall 72 feet long and 6 feet high with decorative top.

The demolition began on April first. The wooden fence was knocked down and carried off. After that, there was jackhammer work because the concrete pathway on my side needed to be narrowed to make room for the new supports for the block wall. The eventual visible portion of the wall came to be in the same place as before, just the below ground support needed to be wider. By Wednesday the foundation was finished and the first row of blocks above ground level was in place. On Thursday while I was away, the entire wall was completed and all the cleanup was done. The wall looks great! Jamie came by with a CD for me of pictures showing the wall in various stages, with the rebar and tape measure in the early pictures, and finishing up with a shot of shop vacuuming the grass to pick up the mortar pebbles and dust. The workers were professionable, easy to get along with, and hard-working. The site was cleaned up and I was kept informed along the way.
Description of Work: The 29-foot long wooden fence between my house and the neighbor sagged and later about half of it fell down. The rest of the property line had a block wall, so we chose to hire American Masonry to remove the wooden fence and extend the block wall. The height of the old fence, old block wall and new block wall was six feet. Additionally a shorter area at a right angle to the part described - the "return panel" - also had the wooden fence demolished and replaced with block wall. American Masonry doesn't do gate work, so they recommended a separate gate company for that. My neighbor is a renter and the landlord agreed to pay for his half. The price noted in the review is for my half share.
