We are Women in Cons­truc­tion, Denise and Molly. ‘Per­fec­tion­ists to a fault’ prob­a­bly best describes us. Cus­tomers are our num­ber one pri­or­ity. After more than 25 years of doing busi­ness in San Diego,we have built up extensive knowledge of the tile indus­try. Com­pet­i­tive Pric­ing, Qual­ity Ser­vice, Free Esti­mates, Per­son­al­ized Atten­tion, and an obses­sion with job­site neat­ness are the mix of ingre­di­ents that our clients appreciate. All of our work is cus­tom designed. We work together with you, the client, to inte­grate design con­cepts suit­able to your dis­tinct lifestyle. Embark­ing on a remodel can be daunting. Molly and I will walk you through the process, from choos­ing the tiles, (pass­ing on our Contractor’s Dis­count), to find­ing a design that suits both your taste and bud­get. Please browse our gal­leries for exam­ples of our work. Uses subs for plumbing, waterproofing, electrical countertops & glass shower doors. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges.

Description of Work: I called for an estimate for tiling a shower. I never received a call back. I'm not sure if I wasn't clear with my phone number but I was disappointed because I would have liked to use a women's business that came so highly recommended.

Well Member, I don't know what to say. It is very possible that you were unclear with your number or that the message was so scratchy sounding that I could not make it out. It is also possible that I did return your call and someone else at your residence did not give you the message. There are endless possibilities. However, if you are the kind of person that would rate someone with an F that you never even talked to then chances are good that I probably would not want to work for you anyway. I go out of my way for my customers and take a lot of pride in my work so good luck with your project. I do not know what happened in your case but I sit down every night when I get home and return all the calls I have received for that day. I remember your estimate. We showed up on time to your estimate and spent at least an hour reviewing what you wanted, including a quick look under your house because of an unusual situation with your washing machine. We submitted a written estimate for your review the next day detailing everything that you had requested and how we were going to accomplish your vision for your bathroom. The grade that you gave us for professionalism is totally unwarrented. With regards to your "vision", when we come to a customer's house we often make suggestions that are intended to make a more servicable living space, and often try to direct a customer towards options that keep their costs down. These suggestions are not meant as constraints on the design a customer wants, but rather as advice from someone who has 28 years of experience. I still have your paperwork. Your bid was submitted March 11, 2012. Why wait four months to give a review? I imagine that you went with someone cheaper; and there is always someone cheaper in the construction business. You also get what you pay for. I have been in this business for a long time and have done many a bathroom in an older home, like yours. I know the amount of work and time and materials it is going to take and I charged you fairly for the work that you wanted done. I do things the right way or I don't do them at all and I will not apologize for giving you a fair price. There are alot of people out there that want something for nothing; our prices are fair for the work that we do. Read ANY review from a customer that we actually worked for, and see what the real story is. Have a nice day, Women in Construction

Description of Work: I was glad to find the most awesome ladies to do the tiling in my bathroom, floor and walls; “Women in construction”. Molly and Denise were fabulous and I would recommend them to anyone. The ladies are talented, professional, creative, helpful and their attention to detail was incredible.

I am licensed, insured and carry workers compensation. Perhaps before you hire a contractor it would be a good practice to go to the CSLB.org and check on the contractors license to make sure that their license and insurance are up to date. That web site will also tell you if they do in fact carry workers compensation. I have been in construction for over 25 years and the quality of work that my company does is above the prices that we charge. Most of the people that hire us that know anything about the difference between a cheap job and a quality job are very appreciative of the work that we do for them. The saying goes, "You get what you pay for". We never cut corners. Our showers and tub surrounds are all plastered, we hot mop our shower pans, we use quality materials, and we take pride in every square inch of our finished projects. We have to make a living and we do quality work for a reasonable price. The words cheap and good just don't go together, but fair and good do and thats what we feel describes us best. Perhaps if you may have left a phone number in this report to reply to you, then I would be happy to do so However, just as in the only other negative report that we have ever received. I have not spoken to you and have never ignored any calls that I receive. Even if we can not help the customer, we always try to put them in touch with someone who can take care of their needs. I pride myself in always being there for our customers, answering their questions even if they do not hire us. I'm sorry if you were somehow overlooked.
